Phill Spencer (CEO Intern at Xbox) after Redfall disaster:
"It's not true that if we start creating great AAA games we just start selling more consoles overnight.
That's just not how it works"
People are so narrow minded when it come to this.
This is an official PS5 first-party remote play dedicated device. Certainly, Sony wants to keep growing PS5 accessory ecosystem and offer official and dedicated solutions for several PS5 use-cases.
Besides, with an official device such Project Q, Sony is also turning this "existing" remote-play feature into first class citizen feature.
Makes perfect sense.

People are so narrow-minded these days.
What's the issue here? Absolutely none.
Sony is just expanding PS5 accessory ecosystem. Project Q is just another accessory that I am sure will fit the use-case of many PS5 owners.
And just because you can already remote-play to your phone or tablet, doesn't mean you can't have a proper accessory 100% designed to be the best PS5 remote-play companion.
In fact, I bet ...
GT7 and Horizon Call of the Mountain are great full blown proper AAA exclusives that showcases the best of VR.
After I played GT7 with VR I cannot go back to normal flat TV anymore. Including multiplayer online.
I would say GT7 is one of the best VR experiences all around.
Game pass is just a service for renting a curated library of games, it's not a platform to play games.
Platform to play games is the Xbox, PC, PS5, Switch, Mobile phones and tablets, etc.
COD is already available on all platforms except Switch. And Activision doesn't need Microsoft to release Switch version of COD.
All the rest is propaganda. 10 years deal? Time pass fast. After 10 years Microsoft can do whatever including incre...
I would be more pragmatic about generalizing the final price, since this is only being rollout to Colombia and Ireland for a reason.
Correction: Price rise is therefore 11.2%
What Verge did was to jump from original price before tax straight to new price after tax, which is obviously misleading information.
@Orchard The Verge numbers are misleading since they are mixing prices before tax with after tax price.
In Japan consumer tax is 10% and most stores feature price before tax:
PS5 Digital Edition: 39,980 yen (before tax) / 43,978 yen (after tax)
PS5 Standard: 49,980 yen (before tax) / 54, 978 yen (after tax)
The price rise of 5,000 yen is applied before tax, so the new price will become:
PS5 Digital Edition: 4...
I live in Japan for almost 10 years and I don't feel any market difference when it comes to Xbox Series vs PS5 this time around.
It's nearly impossible to find a PS5 in Japan and major stores here are tightly controlling the sales 1 per person, by requiring store-specific credit card...when they have stock.
Xbox is not easier although once in a while there is decent XSS restock for which stores usually don't require credit card on the XSS case...
In a world where the year calendar is just 2 months, maybe that's true lol
@Om4ever The all concept of a payed service is to provide some sort of value (usually preceived as savings relative to the offered content) to it's subscribers, otherwise one would not subscribe in the first place.
So it's all subjective because my experience with Gamepass is not exactly translating to significant savings since I Gamepass catalogue doesn't cover my gaming preferences. In fact, Xbox as a platform doesn't cover my gaming preferences as well.

Regardless the criticism from who obviously don’t play the game, FIFA 22 on PS5 is really a great football game.
I played every PES during the PS2 era, but with the transition to PS3 Konami have lost themselves.
About naming. EA Sports FIFA is a branding of several decades. Marketing makes by itself. So it will be a big change. Fortunately, big changes bring a lot of opportunity. EA can use part of that money and re-invest on the game itself and it’s new...
I can confirm that FIFA 22 on Xbox Series S plays same as XSX-PS5 but looks the same like XboxOne-PS4 base versions.
Gameplay is really good though. But this game looks way worse on my 4K Oled than any other XSS game. Regardless XSS is a 1080p machine, most games on XSS display decently on my 4K Oled. And I would expect a game like FIFA could pull the 1440p/60fps.
I still don't understand how Microsoft was able to fade-out the 1st-party support on Xbox One for the last 2 years, giving them plenty of room to focus solely on the new generation, to the point they were the first announcing the new generation but then none of their first-party most acclaimed studios were in shape of releasing an AAA on the first 6 month (probably first year) of the new system.
In contrast, Sony closed PS4 generation with some of the best releases of t...

Intriguing 🤔
"Xbox Game Pass will change the way gamers experience games for the first time."
When you spend more time writing garbage than actually playing video-games, you start not being able to distinguish a "rental" service from real games...it's all the same, everything goes!
Because then there would be no reason to talk about dev kits :P
When you say that who are you talking specifically? You have been spreading that narrative, but I never recognized anyone defending Sony here that at same time criticized Nintendo Direct.
For instance, on my case, I enjoyed both Sony State of Play and Nintendo Direct, because these are just "regular" update shows. If they announce something unexpected great! If they don't, also good for me. I find completely ridiculous people expecting every single State of Pl...
People like to disappoint themselves for no reason...and then write about it.
Like this show was suppose to be the E3 of the year or something.
I personally liked the show, it was an update on some known games and a few new announcements. There were some interesting games that I am looking for trying on PS5.
Unfortunately, when left to amateurs it lacks rigor.
Why comparing the new PS5 disk-less version with the old PS5 Disk-based version?
The new models are specified to be 30% less volume against their respective older versions. But this comparation makes it look maybe 40% less volume.
Indeed Sony should have done a comparation video themselves. Maybe something post-announcement.
Because
