Nintendo has a lot of multi-million dollar IPs... quite frankly they can do whatever they want at this point. Nobody wants to see new stuff from Nintendo anyways, they have a great catalog, and new iterations are always awesome from them. The other two fellas in the park can do the new IP-ing.

Except Halo isn't overrated, especially to those who have been there from the beginning. I'm not getting into this, but it is well known for redefining the console shooter (tons of evidence for this), right after GoldenEye. As for sequels, let's not get into that. They'll pale in comparison to the innovator every time.
I hate the Wii, it's trash, but thinking uncharted will be talked about for the next 15-20 years is foolish. It's a great game at a time the industry sorely needed something like it. I have many new favourite games from this generation that I will take to the grave, but nothing that will likely be talked about for decades.

Overrated? Certainly not. Best franchise ever? Certainly not. When the series is over, people will remember it fondly, but it simply won't have the staying power as a lot of classic Nintendo titles, etc. Not like that's anything to be ashamed of, Naughty Dog did a fantastic job of making third person action games relevant again.
that's why you wait for it to pass their testing. hell, sony screws up sometimes and it bricks some units. you can't always account for every variable.

I mostly agree. While I would buy games, back them up and run them off the hard drive, and (possibly) ditch the disc afterwards... emulation is totally awesome and I wouldn't care in the slightest if you couldn't backup PS3 games. It looks like we'll get both, though.
The Dolphin gamecube/wii emulator is being ported to ps3, confirmed. From my understanding the controls getting mapped might be difficult, as the sub-controller is not like a nunchuck. it's really neat stuff though, you'd be able to run wii games in HD on a same generation console!
Technically you wouldn't be forced to steal the games either. You can easily emulate a game from a retail DVD on PC. That's being hopeful though, as most people planning to do this ...
yeah it's moving really quickly now. exploits are outpacing the homebrew software itself by a mile. After all, it has to all be ported first. I'm waiting for an N64 emulator first before I show any interest.
Most of us on here are smart enough to know that piracy kills the industry. I'm sure some people will pirate games of course, but overall I don't think it will kill Sony. It didn't kill the others.
Is a hero. Nobody complains about other devices being jailbroken or hacked. They all have double standards. This is just as newsworthy and interesting as the rest of them. Emulators are cool. Even if this stuff leads to Piracy or Cheating, it's inevitable with everything. Maybe we should close off the PC so people can't cheat... riiight.... people can't be so closed minded.
This will not bring down Sony. I suspect the majority of users will still buy their games,...
I'm not sure if they acquired the tech prior to developing the new title though. Either way, it's looking pretty good and iD Tech 5 will help immensely in Bethesda's future titles (those that use it).
just run around in 3rd person and switch to first person to fight. it's the best combination.
The developers are holding up fine. Last time I checked, the big games are still making big numbers, and the shitty games shitty ones.
