Because Ray Tracing sells now... every generation of consoles there is a catch for some consumers and this one it is RT.

If you want to run at more fps, you only need to lower the number and precision of rays but... will it be better than other non RT solutions? I doubt it.

Well... we will not develop for Xbox in the foreseable future (maybe until Xbox Series X is the base hardware and we can take it as it). After next two titles are released, we will focus on PC and PS5 only. That's the situation in 2020. I hope it changes in 2022 and lowest denominator is PS5 by then...

Any new AAA+ exclusive would be good for Xbox Series X... any.

Activision wanted to convert New Light in a New Game, then? Well done, Bungie, my fingers are ready for the darkness.

Or... buy a PC.

2058d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

No way... that's not what Microsoft and Sony are trying to sell us. Mobile and PC will kill competition if they don't set a real standard like 1440p/60fps minimum for every game on console.

Antipirate measures are obsolete with older disc formats, so... it would be like... "free games for everybody". Maybe it is not a good idea.

Maybe some games developed only for Xbox Series X and top PC? Maybe with a 2022 release date? That would make the show, for sure.

The problem is not your 3500MB/s SSD... but maybe your rig. Try to use a better NVME PCIe 4.0 controller, maybe an ASUS Hyper M.2 X16 PCIe 4.0 with two or more NVME units and a faster CPU. You will see a big difference in loading times. Bandwidht is not everything, you need to pair it with an IO than can cope with so much data at a time. That can be the point with PS5, that uses fast storage, new gen compression/decompression algorythms, very fast controller and direct PCIe 4.0 link to CPU an...

Yes, that happens on PC all time... oh... wait... The biggest problem I have seen is not bein able to read or hear elevator chat in Mass Effect. But, who cares when you go from 5 minutes waiting for nothing to 10 seconds.

VR/AR hardware is really cheaper every year, as components get standarized. Infrared/RGB/GreyL cameras are the same as on handred of millions smartphones today. 4K/8K capable proccesors are available on medium/low end smartphones totay. 5G chips begin to be standard with smartphones with it in the low 300$, not 1000$. 5/7/60/190GHz wireless video up to 10 meters is a reality with systems under 150$. PS5 promises 90Hz stereo images at 1440p x 2 resolution rock solid, with scale technics to 216...

Nice... but PSVR2 should be a real next gen hardware and software, not only a new version of the same.

He hasn't stopped revealing things... I think that's the problem, too much "revealing" with no big "announcements" to engage other than fanboys: https://n4g.com/channel/phi...

10% install base is 1000% more than Xbox users buying any Xbox game... so... well... it works for Sony.

I think we'd need to say thanks to Sony for going forward and Epic for jumping in so early with the standard for developing (not only games, but pro apps and tools in architecture, science, film, etc.).

I have tried to add an storage solution to my PC, similar to the technology on PS5, but with 3TB first... and 1,5TB later... Option 1) Asus PCIe 4.0 controller 69$ + 3 NVME 1TB "cheap" units 390$ (Total: 460$). Option 2) Asus PCIe 4.0 controller 69$ + 3 NVME 50...

Xbox (2001) was first comercial games console to use internal HD as default and, after it, all systems used a solution on this line (more internal storage for assisting games functions, not only as backup).

Make PSVR1 PS5 compatible from Day One and launch PSVR2 on november 2021... with new generation tracking, ARM Cortex-x CPU, 12 hours working batteries, no lag wireless and 5G... for autonomous and connected function like Oculus Quest...

Cyberpunk 2077 this week demo was running on an Intel 10th gen CPU, 32GB RAM and NVIDIA GTX 2080Ti... at 1080p 60fps. Well... Xbox One/S/X/Series S/Series X/Windows/xCloud developers will need some extra work to impress PC gamers and PlayStation 5 exclusive devs.

Well... you will be able to play Halo: Infinite on any DirectX 12.1 compatible PC with Windows 10 2004 version... and from a mobile phone with remote play or xCloud. So... "exclusive" is relative. No Xbox Series exclusives have been announced yet.
