So... you have prices for november 7th? Ryzen 3 and AMD Vega ones? If not... don't try, please.
Total disconnection between what us, Xbox gamers, want and what Xbox marketing people want...?
What do new comers prefer? An old game with not many improvements or an remastered version with something better and errors fixed? I think younger players prefer remastered games, not BC, because not many games get older in good shape... So, yes, BC is another option and it is good to have more options. But if BC costs millions that could go to better CPU (Ryzen instead of Jaguar), better G...
If it is like Phantom Dust remake... none from you, please. Somebody in Microsoft confused backwards compatibility with remake or remaster.
Price is the poblem in Europe, I think. Many friends were buying Xbox 360 when it was far cheaper than PS3. Now, Xbox One only has been cheaper than PS4 on special sales and near times. Also, it is really difficult to buy Xbox One games in Spain and near to impossible to buy them on special editions. BTW, games are more expensive on Xbox One than PS4. Money, really, seems to have been Xbox One problem in Spain. I can't speak about other european countries, but retail channel seems to be i...
In Spain it used to be 7 to 1... but now it seems to be 9 PS4 to 1.4 Xbox One. Rest of Europe seems to be in the 3:1 ratio.
Trying to sell for 65€ a game that seemed to be made for Free2Play... Only Blizzard can do that today. The same goes for Battleborn and Evolve.
I'd consider buying a good, fast 4K HDR TV set and be sure that it will have frequent updates for better performance over months and next years. A very fast 4K HDR TV set is mandatory for PS4 Pro and any other 4K gaming source nowadays. Like it was with 1080p TV Sets 9 years ago, where lag ruined many incredible gaming sets. I see a big handicap here with my one year old 4K HDR mega expensive set and not only PS4 Pro, but GTX 1080 rig.
True, I think MS, with the years, forgot what we (users and gamers) liked of Xbox 360 vs PS3. Things as simple as "put the disk and play in no time", japanese games like Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey... apps to play media from network and USBs, our own soundtrack for any game, Xbox LIVE friends, tens of new AAA games every year, hard disk was upgradeable (more expensive than PS3 and no SSD option, but it was) and many more... But they, MS, forced an enormous Kinect that is hardly bet...
Anybody who didn't see it when it was announced in Redmond should be out of Microsoft and give Xbox Scorpio freeway to be Xbox great again: Kinect was underpowered, price was too high, size was incredibly big and a backstep when Xbox 360 was smaller than Xbox and everybody liked that, no Japanese games, expensive and difficult access for indies to develop games for Xbox One, no motion controls on gamepads, no micros on the console or gamepads, hardware was underpowered (in comparison to X...
When you need Windows 10 Anniversary Update for playing Forza Horizon 3 and Gears of War 4 on PC, I think... yes, Microsoft® owns PC (400 millions, for the moment). You need to use their system, under their rules, buy games on their shop and pay to them... like it has been on consoles since NES.
Because 99,8% of games sold on Windows® don't give any royalties to Microsoft. Microsoft® want Steam®, Origin®, UPlay®, GoG®, etc. to pay for game sold, like royalties on Xbox® and the key is UWP®. Time will tell if UWP® wins or it is doomed like Games for Windows Live® and other initiatives from Microsoft® were.
Microsoft only get money from PC games sold by third parties who sell games on Windows Store. Steam, Origin, Ubi, GoG, etc. do not pay Microsoft for any game sold.
So the problem for Microsoft is Steam & Co.
Microsoft want to popularize UWP and get others out of the game.
That's the reason Valve, Epic, SONY, Japanese developers and thousands of indies do not empower Microsoft at this time and don't see Scorpio as a viable platform.
...
It sounds to me more like if Scorpio is an idea, a virtual platform, a guideline for PC manufacturers like Steam Machine from Valve... Not a real machine to be sold for xxx$ 13 months in the future. "It must be DirectX 12.1 compliant, 12GB RAM minimum, 4GB GDDR5 minimum, gigabit Ethernet, 1TB HD, some kind of 32GB SSD S.2 or better for fast big texture access, HDMI 2, USB 3.1..." and a price that begins at 449$ for the basic unit for Christmas 2017.
Nobody will buy movies on disc 2 years in the future. Why would anybody do it, when streaming services like Netflix or Hulu will be 8K by then with 12bit HDR as standard, like they are now with 4K HDR?
Cheap 4K BD HDR players are not good. They show grey artifacts on black passages, like Xbox One S. You need to pay more than 300$ for a reasonably good BD 4K HDR player now. Maybe next year they become under 100$, like BD players went after PS3 launch in Europe. But, for the moment, if you want to play BD 4K HDR with good quality, you need something like a Samsung UBD-K8500 or better and it is almost 300$.
I'd prefer 100€ less for a Xbox One S without Blu-Ray 4K drive. I pay Netflix 4K already and last Blu-Ray I bought was 3 years ago (Il Padrino Collection, imported from Amazon Italy). I'd also like the option of an Xbox One S and PS4 Pro without disc drive at all. Cheaper, smaller and silent. Maybe next generation...
I consume all 4K media I can, but I don't buy any Blu-Ray 4K. I'm only digital stream and download user. I have no more room for physical and I lost my love for limited disc editions some time ago. When Microsoft pushed digital download with Xbox 360 PS Blu-Ray option and later the only connected fiasco that I believed was right.
I know nobody interested in buying Blu-Ray 4K discs. But it is good to have options. Everybody I know with 4K HDR TVs are Netflix subscribers, anyway. Maybe it is the reason they are not interested in Blu-Ray 4K.
That's madness. The best Kinect game and it closes. A total nonsense.
As an Xbox fan since 2000 presentation and 2001 launch, what I want is a real next gen machine. Something with AMD Radeon Vega's 12 TFLOPS and Ryzen to feed it. Maybe in 2018, but not a mid season refresh (Second refresh for this gen if I count Xbox One S barely better GPU).
I think MS should have launched a mid season upgrade like Xbox One X in 2016 to compete with PS4 Pro until next gen arrives en 2019. But not now, that many of us think in PSVR games like Farpoint VR and exclu...
