Gears should use their own engine to squize Xbox hardware. They used Unreal Engine because Gears of War was an Epic Games title, used to showcase Unreal Engine. But, if The Collective want to make a better Gears of War, they should use the right tools, not a general purpose base (like Naughty Dog and other first parties). My opinion, of course... nobody else needs to agree with me.
First, Sony has to release The Last of us 2, Ghost of Tsushima, Iron Man VR, etc. When done, it will be next gen time.
PlayStation 5 tech running in real time... Well... Let the games begin!
The problem when you say that others haven't done something is that "others" can do it anytime... and you lose your argument. It happens in politics everyday. So... wait and see.
First party lineup is not ready for showing, because Ray Tracing and other technics are not ready for showing in a proper way. We only need to wait some more weeks for a first glimpse and some months for something more real. Patience... this is not SIGGRAPH or an NVIDIA tech demo. This is about real games and not everything is in place yet. The same goes for Sony, as they are using Ray Tracing for the first time and other technics that have not been available for console developers before. ...
"Rumours are not news"
Microsoft only needs to add 12 month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Forza ∞ and say that the console has a thousands of dollars value... for underselling it. It has been done many times before and Nintendo made of this an art (well... Gillette too).
Yes, we are not in 2013 anymore. You can lear from past, but present is always a different story and future hits you when you don't expect. Maybe, learning should be applied while preparing the future, not only seeing what worked 7 years ago to your competitor, but what can work now and next. Maybe, a cheaper console with a very strong cloud can do better than a powerfull console that arrives at the same time as AMD Zen 3, NVIDIA 2nd Gen RTX and other technologies that can adapt very fast...
It is an online game with lobbies hidden behind spaceships over planets... only better servers and matchmaking code can fix this. If you play on Stadia (well... if you don't mind lag and compression stuff) you will notice that the "loading crap" you mention is only a server side problem. Maybe with next gen servers, with next gen storage solutions, it will be intantaneous to go through missions, Strikes, Cruzible and everything. I hope this jump in hardware will fix and improve ...
Dynamic 4K... I'd love to have this as standard on PC too. I hope more devs use it ASAP.
Try with trailers released by their own. They look better. Ok, no next gen, but better than in yesterday's Series X presentation. BTW, I can only think in Scorn... that was... well... H. R. Giger. I did not expect that and now I only see xenomorphs when I close my eyes. I want that game... or whatever it is. I don't care platform... PC maybe, for better visuals.
World premiere...!
Totally agree with title, but not with content of the article.
Well... my phone can do more than 4K/60p... at a +1000$ cost.
Anything I can't have better and cheaper on my PC, please?
It is an style, like Halo hand drawed textures... More people seems to like than dislike. I don't like cartoonish textures when realistic ones could be better like in this game. But it is an artistic decision, not a quality one.
Why wait two years if you can have cheaper DDR4 and PCIe 4 in 2020? DDR5 and more than 8 cores will not make us, gamers, any good until 2023 or more.
AMD Roadmap put Zen 3 for 2020 fall... so... this holidays can have very interesting stuff for PC gamers under the tree.
So... Xbox One did not exist... It was only a bad dream. Ok, ok... Can we have our money back?
And does it with developers showing it. Developers, developers, developers!
