I had the misfortune of playing Uncharted 1 after Uncharted 2 and let me tell you, Uncharted 1 is kind of a fail of a game. Story aside (it's Indiana Jones and I mean that as a compliment), the game's levels seemed randomly designed, okay, not randomly, but not as well polished as Uncharted 2. Weapons were incredibly scarce and the attempt at six-axis control on the grenades made them practically ineffective in almost any dire situation.

The game was hard but only be...

I'm kinda surprised that a person who agrees with me left a comment, but the people who disagreed didn't....

Oh well...I also enjoyed my first playthrough of the game, to the point when I saved Jason I was like "yes, I did it!"

Then watching my friend play, do vastly radical things and got practically the same endings...nothing really changed or happened. Besides the death scenes, which I can only imagine just moves around some cutscenes an...

Heavy Rain is quite the experience....

However, there's quite a few problems with this article's argument. The first is that the creating different characters based on decisions is present in most games. Projection and creating internal narratives is nothing new to games and you depending on the player could be present in Zelda, Metroid, Uncharted, Halo, etc.

For example, is Samus the fearless destroyer of planets who has no fear? Or is Samus someone...

9.5/10? This person truly doesn't appreciate the masterpiece that is LBP2. If this person knew what he was talking about, he would've given it a 28.91/10. lololololololol

I think ignoring her as a female character is bit more insulting than saying she no longer is one (I don't think that, but lack of Samus did disappoint in this article)

Depends on the game. Some games like Super Meat Boy relied on trial and error to find the best path, therefore overtly punishing dying in a game like that is detrimental to the gameplay.

Even a game like Epic Yarn which was clearly designed without death so a person can just play through it and get some of the experience, but also so the player can play the game with self-imposed challenges.

Even Fable II, got rid of death in-order to create a narrative tha...

The only instance in which sexism and hyper sexualization ruined the story was Heavy Rain. Madison Paige exists entirely as a sexual object within the game...and despite that I don't think has ever caught on to that.

I also think there needs to be a difference between fanservice and sexism. While fanservice definitely can and usually does fall into the category of "seeing women as objects", most of the time it is done to both genders and we as consumers of the med...

So....how many of you guys actually read the article?

Is it too early or something? Last time I saw a decent but not perfect score for LBP2 there were people all over it saying its "NOT GOOD ENOUGH HOW DARE THEY?"

I guess I'll check it out later.

If it was the Wii with guaranteed better online and HD graphics...wouldn't that make everything better?

They're based in Japan, so they probably have Ninjas. Also only Pirates can beat Ninjas....*mind blown*

I'm really curious, how many people actually noticed that the game, despite taking place in America, looked more like Europe?

Really? That's not what I heard....

I can definitely see why people love the game now and I'm glad I finally got around to playing it.

You realize that Sony is doing the same exact gimmicky 3D crap for their home console, right? And that's just to market THEIR 3D TVs and glasses. At least Nintendo can give you 3D for free...and a Phantom Hourglass style note-taking system for all games, and the ability to pause your game and go online without having to turn off the game, and a ton of new games.

At least it's an updated classic, not just the same game from this current generation ported to a handheld.

Hm...watered down versions of games I already have or updated classics along with exciting new games? Probably going with the 3DS.

Don't you have a PS3?

I don't really get the point of the NGP. It looks cool and all, but I don't care if it can play Uncharted 1 on a handheld. I played Uncharted already on the big screen.

In both case of the NGP and 3DS I'm looking for that unique experience that can only be done with the different tech, not watered down versions of current generation games.
