Sounds like a lot of people only like the old Sonic games out of nostalgia.
Absolutely nothing wrong with the presentation of Sonic Colors....so yeah....
Spoilers of course
From what I've read, the way there was no closure in the game is very true to the noire style. I feel like Team Bondi wanted to combine the noire genre with some realism and maybe even try and put the story into our own historical context. For example, you catch the Black Dahlia killer, but it can't go public, so maybe that's a cue that as the cases escalate more in severity, the less Cole can actually do to stop it.
I also think ...
Honestly, I think that only matters to people who are just graphics snobs spoiled by the HD consoles. Being ugly compared to a much more powerful system and actually being ugly are two different things. For example, the original Goldeneye is ugly, always will be, but Conduit 2 can actually have some really cool looking stuff, even if not as crisp or clear as it could be on a more powerful console.
Can I at least read a negative review that can convince me they played the game, and more than just watching the absolutely crazy ending.
Or please define for me what poor level design is and why Conduit 2 has to live up to some kind of standard when big open battlefield with a pretty little road saying "go here" gets no such criticism?
I have the game, I played the first, the first was meh but this one is a blast. Is it the best FPS I've ever...
I can understand why some reviews like these exist. They give an opinion without spoiling anything...the problem is, from it I learned nothing about the game. Its the equivalent of me asking a random person how the game is and them telling me "yeah, its okay". In fact, this entire review can be summed up to just that. Why write a review at all if you're going to go at least a bit further in-depth and let the readers actually feel convinced that you played the game.
Argh...charge the deatomizer!
I liked this review, the attitude of the reviewer was able to highlight the good points, and even admit that some criticisms were just nit-picky and doesn't decrease the amount of fun from the game.
I really enjoyed the first one, even though its story was predictable it had a huge amount of lore that made it so much better. I'm glad to hear the second one has a better story, actual cutscenes, and tons of offline stuff so me and buddies can play together.
Are you guys freakin kidding me?
From Reality is Broken by Jane McGonigal:
"Some recent relevant statistics from the Entertainment Software Association's annual study of game players-- the largest and most widely respected market research report of this kind:
69 percent of all heads of households play computer and video games.
97 percent of youth play computer and video games.
40 percent of all game...
something around half of all gamers are girls now, maybe 40% but its a lot higher than it use to be.
Wii games have legs, they sell over a long period of time and maybe the people buying it now are doing so because all of the talk about it has died down.
I personally don't understand how and why people feel like the story kills Samus. She never had much of a character in the older games and she didn't need it because it was fairly simple. The Prime series also really has you project on to Samus and the hints of personal emotions she feel (like the end of Corruption), r...
Accessibility determines casual and hardcore. Most modern games these days cater to both crowds, but generally a casual game (from a developer's perspective) is one that is designed to have an easy learning curve and does not require a huge investment of time to enjoy.
I haven't played a CoD game since World at War, but basically, it seems like an experience that was built around short bursts of play, which would make it casual with rewards to those who are core play...
Did you finish the game? You'll see why it's so surreal.
I love this game, one of my favorites of all time. Hope a sequel can one day be made.
Oh wow, I clicked on the link expecting 5 reasons arguing for WHY we shouldn't replay games not "here are 5 reasons you probably don't replay a game".
3rd Party support, I feel, has been pretty decent on the Wii. Especially seeing since there is a lot of shovelware which must mean 3rd parties are interested (just not the kinda 3rd parties we would want).
While online could be better a lot of time what could help 3rd parties is the people NOT buying their games....by buying their games, especially the good ones like Monster Hunter Tri, Red Steel 2, Sonic Colors, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, etc.
I was kinda hoping for more than just a list...seeing as I happen to enjoy the Super Mario Bros. Movie. I thought it had some cool stuff going on for it with some pretty good acting for a kids film.
For what its worth, I had fun with the game. It just not as good as most people think it is.
@Figboy
While I agree with you, Heavy Rain is not an entirely unique experience. One problem I noticed with the game is that where most games would have you die if you failed a challenge, Heavy Rain actually scripts it so you can't die. Trust me, I tried to get Ethan killed so many times and then I looked online and saw that there are scripted parts where any character can die.
Much of what David Cage said like "anyone can die at anytime" is a ...
Chell is a different archetype all together though. I agree with what you're saying, but I think that one idea that people seem to have a hard time grasping is that difference between a character and an avatar.
Chell is not a character in the strict sense. She has a bit of a backstory but that's it. She has no personality and really doesn't have any thoughts and motivations separate from the player. Chell is a shell for the player to manipulate and even though sh...
