I took advantage of the recent promotion and updated my 3 year XBOX Live Gold subscription (which I received free via Microsoft Rewards Points) to Game Pass Ultimate. I used to feel the same way about my music and movie collection (which I eventually donated) but that compulsion faded as I got older. I think that when you're young you identify somewhat with the things you purchase.
My current game collection is stowed away in a closet. The last thing I want is a bunch of video game discs and cases clutteriung up my personal space.
Are you suggesting that only "certain companies" yearn for an all digital gaming platform? If that's what you believe then your hopelessly naive...or staggeringly biased. All hardware manufactures, developers and publishing companies would love to have complete control of the distribution of their content.
Are you suggesting that developers provide access to thier games via the Game Pass service without receiving monetary compensation? That makes no sense, which is not surprising since it comes from someone who is absolutely blinded by their maniacal brand loyalty.

I don't have any hard numbers on the latency but I would say undetectable.
I was part of the Google game streaming test program a few months ago which featured Assassin's Creed Odyssey. I was skeptical but came away super impressed with the technology. No lag, no frame drops, 1080p at 30fps on a low end PC with a mediocre internet connection.

I have no problem with those that are passionate about games who are resolved to hold these game studios to a high standard. I do see an issue with people overacting to speculation, rumors and trivial issues. The current trend of nit-picking every detail of a game is particularly disconcerting. We essentially have a group of people, the DownGrade Brigade, that can't wait to gleefully jump on the hate bandwagon at a moments notice.

It's not even a confirmed issue at this point. I just checked and I still see that ambient occlusion is working on my console. Let's see a report from a trusted source, as opposed to some dude on Twitter who posted a single screenshot.
If there is a problem then Rockstar will probably fix it soon...or not. Who cares?
