So you're saying that these sports games will only appeal to people that like sports games? Look at the big brain on you!
@HusbandAndWifeGaming
"Imagine going to blockbuster and instead of renting whatever you want the guy behind the counter give you a game at random"
That's not how GamePass works at all!
Blockbuster and GamePass each have a finite set of titles which are available to the customer. In each case you choose among the current inventory. There is no one from either service giving you a game/movie at random.

Sorry pal, you appear to be the one who is mad. The question is, are you "mad" as in angry or "mad" as in crazy? I'm going to go with both.
Are you OK?
@darth72
"we are all guilty of forgetting to preface an opinion but most of the time I do"
I just looked at the last 100 or so of your comments and not one of them includes the phrase "in my opinion" or a reasonable facsimile. But, you know what? I can still easily recognize that you aren't making any ubiquitous assertions. I can do this because I understand that you don't speak for me, or anyone else for that matter.

@darthv72
Do we really need to include "in my opinion" whenever we make a statement? It's obvious to anyone with even a minuscule iota of intelligence that Gunstar75 is expressing his own personal viewpoint.
It's interesting, I've notice that you typically don't incorporate the phrase "in my opinion" when posting comments on N4G. So, according to your theory, practically everything that you're ever said is wrong, on...
I thought the same thing. LOL
@Longadog
You really must be one ignorant individual if you're calling me "dumb" and an "apologist" for my statements, which obviously condemn Microsoft’s actions. Please point out any portion of my comments where I'm making excuses for the price hike. I said that MS doesn't owe anyone an apology or compensation for making a business decision. I don't support a price increase of this magnitude but I'm not acting like they insulted my ...
@Chevalier
I'm confused as to why you are suggesting that I'm making excuses for Microsoft. I called the decision to increase the subscription price "wildly off the mark". I also said that the 100% increase is "ill timed and unreasonable". In yet another comment I said " "who is running the show over at Xbox headquarters?" which infers that the executives at Xbox don't know what they're doing.
I guess you...
@Chevalier
That is an absurd anology. MS isn't threatening your life or using force to extract your money. If anyone is being harmed in this situation it would be Microsoft's reputation as this ill timed and unreasonable price increase will only damage their business.
As I said, if you don't agree with a company's policies then sever ties with them. I grew tired of Xfinity rasing prices every year so I cancelled the service. I didn't c...
MS doesn't owe anyone an "apology". They made a business decision (wildly off the mark in my opinion) and then rescinded it within a few hours. No one got hurt, nor did it negatively impact anyone's life. If you aren't a video game enthusiast you probably aren't even aware of this development.
Man, we live in crazy times when random nobodies (no offense) demand apologies and compensation from corporations, actors, sports figures, etc because they d...
I though the same thing. These decisions aren't made on a whim. A price hike of this caliber was planned way in advance of the announcement. MS likely spent months on market research, polling subscribers and evaluating feedback before landing on a price point.
For them to just say "nah, forget it" a few hours later is flat out strange. It really make me wonder, "who is running the show over at Xbox headquarters?"
"they lost 800,000 subscribers back in 2011 and their stock dropped 70% after they decided to separate the streaming and dvd rental service and the end cost was a 60% price hike from before."
Yeah, that didn't work out for Netflix at all. /s Their stock went from a low of $7.80 in 2011 to its current price of $545.17 even though they've raised their subscription fee 100% ($7.99 in 2011 to $15.99 in 2021).
So what exactly is the lesson th...
When it happens, and it probably will happen, people will blame Microsoft because they were first. That is a short sighted way of looking at things.
Sony, being the leader in the gaming market, won't raise prices in response to a weaker competitors brash move. If Sony does increase the price of Playstation Plus you can bet it was in the works for quite some time.
I'm not sure what version of history you've learned, but that never happened.
Decent line up, especially compared tp the previous few months.
I've never paid full price for Xbox Live Gold. There are always half price sales around the holidays for this service as well as PlayStation Plus. I've never paid for Game Pass Ultimate either, and I've had it since inception. You can easily amass enough MS Rewards points to pay for a year of GP Ultimate. I'm subscribed for the next 2 years and it didn't cost me a cent.
I've never been able to get through one of his games. I've tried pretty much all of them since the PS2 era. I'm not suggesting that they're bad, they're not just for me.
@Deep_Space_One
"people like you will literally say anything to defend xbox'
And people like you will say anything to disparage Xbox. Look at the speculative nonsense that you wrote. You sound like a paranoid, irrational nut. It would be advantageous if you lead your arguments with actual facts instead of emotionally charged drivel. Do yourself a favor, the next time that you're going to spout off with wild accusations and assumptions, do som...
