The problem is the all the fans would be like, ' it's not Call of Duty anymore' and complain about that. But if they don't change anything then everyones like, ' I wish they'd do something new', but it'll still sell millions. Which one do you think they'll pick?

Frankly I'm starting to get a little fed up with the industries current fascination with realism. Sure, I do enjoy some realistic games, such as Forza or Flashpoint, but the main reason I play games is to get away from real life for a little while and see what the imaginations of the developers can do.

But that's just me.

Considering that there's a seperate team, created in 2009, I don't think the singleplayer portion of the game will be affected in any way, mate. Of course some of the money that may have been chucked at the singleplayer might be spent on it, but because they've already got the ground work for the game build, the past two games, then I doubt that would bother them in any way shape or form.

I'm quite looking forward to seeing how it all pans out. Many people are quick to judge, assuming that it's just going to be player vs player and then posting a hate comment based on this assumption, but it looks like they've put some though into delivering something unique, and so I'm willing to give them a chance. After all, aren't we always complaining that developers never try anything new with their series? Well, Bioware are, so now we're complaining about that? ...

I'm glad you enjoyed the review, mate. I tried to be as fair as I could about the game, considering the final score that I gave it.

As I mention at the end of the review, in the 70-hours played I didn't see even a fraction of what the game has to offer. It's just too freaking huge :D

@Raoh: I'd never recommend a game soley on how it looks, but thankfully Rayman has some great gameplay backing it up as well. If you enjoy your platformers then I'd heartily recommend it to you.

Origins has certainly been a refreshing change of pace, and it's nice to see that the genre isn't dead yet.

Agreed. It's not quite got the technical prowess of other titles this year, especially with some of its clumsy animations, but the art design and stunning vistas make a strong case for Skyrim. Though I have to say that Rayman: origins is also a beautiful game to behold.

Ah, some fond memories are illicited from that list (damn you, Contra), though I don't agree with a few of them. I found DMC3 to be challenging, but not actually hard. Dead Rising I thought was pretty easy to get through, apart from Adam the clown who killed me twice. Stupid clown.

It is indeed a damn fine game, and proof that the genre isn't quite dead just yet. Although the vast majority of gameplay in Origins is stuff taken from various other platformers throughout the years, it's still compelling stuff. And damn, does it look good!

I've been having great fun with Rayman: Origins. It's nice to see that the genre hasn't completely died yet, although most of the gameplay in Origins has been seen before in other titles throughout the years.

And good grief is it beautiful!

For me, picking a Game of the Year this year would be a tough decision, but I think Skyrim would take it, because despite many flaws and glitches no other game has drawn me in as much. Portal 2 would come in at a well deserved second on my list thanks to some fantastic writing and highly enjoyable gameplay.

It was a joke, mate. I was simply taking the mickey out of Call of Duty's success.

Everybody loses their gaming mojo every now and then, mate. When it happens to me I find the best remedy is to go back and play some of my old favorites.

It's certainly not affecting me, though. At the moment I'm swapping between Skyrim, LEGO Harry Potter 2, Saint's Row 3, Rayman Origins and Battlefield 3. Let the good times roll :)

So what you're saying is that 89.3 million beer mats have been sold? I'm sorry, I couldn't resist :D

If its a true number, then it's utterly terrifying. And to thing that I used to worry about games never becoming socially accepted and doing commercially well.

A game that I feel deserved more commercial success than it got when it released, but sadly because it didn't contain the words, ' Call of Duty' on the box nor featured a first person view and an M16 it never got much attention.

I've had the urge for a while now to go back and replay the game, but never seem to find the time. Still, I hope to find the time soon and fall in love with Trip all over again. Why can't she be real? WHY!? :D

Yet another case of the police taking things too far.

Perhaps someone from America can help me out here, as well. Over here, in the UK, it's not actually classed as shoplifiting unless you leave the premises, so you can legally put things in your pocket, rucksack etc., although the security guards and police seem to ignore that law. Is it the same in America? if so that policemen should have helped the man's son, as any decent person should have done, and then eithe...

A nice enough mask, but I don't usually have too much trouble with diseases and poisons, so I think I'll stick to the two I already own. Might have to go and raid the dungeon, though, to get my hands on that staff as I had to give up the one I gained dured the singleplayer and I want another one :D
