Why can't we just have weekly downloads for GH3 instead of having to buy a whole new game every year.
So PS3 outsells 360 WW by less than 500 units. Yes, less than 500 units. The 360 has... what? A 7 million unit lead? How long will it take to catch up with 500 units?
Not that I care. I really don't give a sh*t who wins the "war." Am I playing great games? Yes. Am I playing them on more than one console? Yes. Who gives a damn which one is "better"... all I want to do is play some good games, escape into some good stories, play online with friends. I can do a...
PS3 fans could be saying the same thing about Bioshock and Mass Effect and Halo 3.
MGS 4 is going to be on PS3 only. If you want to play it, go get a PS3. In fact, while you're at it, pick up R&C, Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, Warhawk... etc etc etc.
One can argue that the PS3 doesn't have a "must have" title... and one can argue that MGS4 really isn't a must have title... but you can't argue that if you're a gamer who wants to play good games, you'll...
I guess I really don't get it. As gamers don't we just want to play the best games? And let's face it, each system has its good games. Sony might not have the AAA yet, but it has enough AA to make it a compelling platform for ANYONE (gamers, non-gamers, those who already have another system, etc.). I have a 360, I love the 360, I love Xbox Live, I play it every night with my friends. That's not going to change... but I WILL BE BUYING A PS3 IN 2008.
I want to play Resistance, Wa...
UTIII is designed for the PS3? Funny, I thought it was designed for the PC... as a PC franchise... and the PS3 "port" kind of fell out of that... just as the 360 port will inevitably follow.
However, none of that is a defense of the Orange Box on PS3. I think the real issue here is that most gamers are aware of Gabe Newell's disgust with the PS3 development kit, and we're anticipating that in addition to the Orange Box being delayed on PS3 that there will be issues wi...
Just because they had success in previous games doesn't mean Haze will be a success. Wait for the game to come out first, which is now 2008.
Don't forget that Factor 5 had success with the Rogue Squadron games... then gave us a turd called Lair.
Great game. It's really a shame not more people bought it, because it was one of the best games of the last generation.
EDIT: Oh, and Freespace 2 for the PC. One of the best space flight games ever.
Crackdown is definitely in my top 50 games of all time. The one thing it had in spades: FUN. Just simply a wonderfully fun game.
Definitely. I always get more for it on eBay than via trade-in.
I guess I've played enough Halo 3 to realize it's Halo 2 with lipstick. Don't get me wrong; it's a fun game. But the customization options in COD4 make Halo look like a last gen game. Halo really could have used something more to spruce it up. COD4 really goes that extra mile to make the games more interesting. There's more strategy involved in choosing your weapons, your perks, etc. Halo... everyone starts with the same weapons and you run across the map looking for the best one to switch yo...
Millions of people read the latest Stephen King every year. Does that make it the best book? Halo 3 is enjoyable, especially online with friends, but it's not revolutionary.
I know people will argue about the Forge, but frankly the Forge is crap. I can put weapons or vehicles on any existing map. Big whoop. Can I make new maps and share them online? No. Why? Because MSFT wants to charge $10 for 3 maps every 6 months. Retarded.
In my opinion COD4 is the better ga...
And you're right... no one is talking about Rock Band... and I suspect that will win a few GOTYs.
Don't forget that there isn't "one" GOTY... every web site, every mag, has their GOTY announcement... and I suspect we'll run the gamut. We'll see Galaxy win in some, Bioshock in others...
My personal GOTY is COD4. If you asked my kids and my wife, it'd be GH3, because they all love that game.
Halo 2.5 is good, but not great.
But it keeps us warm.
I agree with COD4. I've played Halo 3 (more like Halo 2.5), Bioshock and have started Mass Effect. While all three of those titles are serious contenders, I really think COD4 upped the ante on the "intensity" factor.
I say that having not played any of the PS3 or Wii games... but my opinion is that COD4 is the 360 GOTY.
Let's face it. The "must have" games that the 360 has (Halo 3, COD4, Bioshock, Gears of War and Mass Effect) are all rated M.
The must have games for the PS3 (Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, Ratchet & Clank Future and Warhawk) are all rated T.
So if you're 8-17 years old, and you have to choose between the 360 and the PS3... which one do you think you'll ask for?
These guys are smoking something. Aren't games supposed to be fun? GH3 is fun (regardless of how much alike it is to GH2).
I like your reasoning. I don't have a PS3 (yet). I love my 360, and I think a lot of my hesitancy around the PS3 is due to the fact that I play a lot online. Halo, COD4, RSV... I have a large friends (and family) list, and the 360 is where we gather to play.
I will eventually pick up a PS3, but I suspect that the 360 will remain my console of choice for online. Which means the PS3 needs to deliver some seriously AAA single player games in 2008.
This is damage control for Sony's imminent October numbers.
And for all those PS3 fanboys out there claiming "just wait" for the November numbers, are you serious that you don't think the 360 will also see an increase in sales? It's the freakin' holidays, folks. If your numbers aren't going up between Oct->Nov->Dec, then you shouldn't be in business in the first place.
COD games developed by teams other than IW have sucked.
