They might look like something that's getting close to console games, but as far as actually playing those games goes, they're not even close.
As far as games go, PS3 had more to give in diversity and amount of exclusives, so IMO PS3 had a better year.
And what comes to sales, as a gamer it doesn't matter to me. I have nothing to gain or lose from either consoles' sales when the current gen is almost at it's end. Both consoles have succeeded and the competition continues. Competition equals better games and that's why I like this neck and neck race between PS3 and Xbox360.
Umm, no. First of all, all games don't need to be installed, and secondly I don't know of a single patch or group of patches for one game that is even close to the size of the game itself. There's a huge difference.
I've considered the rumored prices to be placeholder prices anyway. First of all they've been straight conversions of yen, which just isn't how it works. And secondly I always take unconfirmed information with a grain of salt.
At my current financial situation I'll probably hold on until a PSV "slim". But I'm surely getting it at some point.
I've always preferred a physical copy and I don't see that changing anytime soon. I want a collection to store in my shelves. Also hard drives will break at some point (even SSDs), I don't want to download everything again when that happens.
Let's just hope they realize it's not Batman himself that made those games popular, but the quality of those games. I think we have enough half-assed superhero games as it is, so hopefully they give these games to good hands.

It's a shame because all indications are that this will be the better game out of the two. A shame but understandable, after all FF13 was the first FF game this generation and a lot of people had been waiting it for a long time, and after that disappointment a lot of people are not willing to give their money to SE before they see some reviews etc. Let's hope FF13 taught SE a lesson of what a FF game should NOT be.

It's not about being cool, it's about being good. And these games are atrociously bad. Playing these games is like watching Titanic 2. All the way from the beginning to the end you find yourself amazed by how bad the actors are, how even worse the CGI parts look and how utterly stupid the story is. That is, IF you make it to the end.
There's an easy way to counter this, and it just requires you to follow two simple rules: Don't buy new games, until you've finished what you have already. Enjoy the game you're playing at the moment as much as possible, this also means don't think of the next game you intend to get too much when you're still in the middle of another game.

There is no such thing as a perfect video game. And even if there was, CoD would be far from it.
One must also take into account that the faster (bigger Class) flash cards are a lot more expensive than the slower ones. The Vita cards are probably a lot faster than the Class 2 (slowest) SD card. Though I still think those prices are outrageous, and am not defending them. Just saying that there are faster memory cards and they are more expensive.

I was talking about hardware, controls to be exact. A device which has only a touch screen will never be on par with console games, no matter how good they look. Some people say this can be fixed with an external controller, but wouldn't that be a blow to portability?
