Depends on how you define a success. A lot of people still consider the PSP to be a failure just because DS beat it in sales. PSASBR doesn't need to beat SSB in sales or ratings to be succesful.
I think it will be a success because it has a roster of its own which appeals to a lot of gamers. My first console was a NES, but I got it one generation late, during the SNES era. After that I got a PS1 and pretty much grew up with it and its follower PS2 and now PS3. There's...
And you fail to note that damsel in distress has absolutely nothing to do with sexism.
"Female characters, however, are almost always big-chested, scantily-clad playboy models. In fact, the only female character that I can think of that doesn’t look like this is Faith from Mirrors Edge."
Yuna, Rikku, Aeris, (FF) Zelda, Saria, (LoZ) Peach, (Mario) Kendl Johnson, Mallorie, (GTA), Alyx Vance (HL2), Emma Emmerich (MGS), Trish (inFamous). Just off the top of my head.
After giving it a bit more thought, I somewhat agree with the article. As...
If I don't like a game, I don't play it even for easy platinums.
You ain't no gangsta! You a busta! Straight up busta!
Probably they won't give us 12 free games after next E3. I'll give you that. But that still leaves us with 36 free games per year if we don't count this initial month. Where else do you get such benefits for a 50€/$/£ yearly fee?
God of War is old school? LMAO!
"manuals where never needed in the first place. Something called the internet?" (from your first post)
When I started gaming, internet connections at home weren't common at all, and they were expensive as hell, using it for something like manuals or guides for games was not an option back then.
No, they did not. I fully understood the concept and you should have too. They never said anything like new free games every week. They said 12 free games a MONTH and 3 of them are switched to different ones each MONTH. You made up that weekly thing in your head. 12 + (3 * 11) = 45 free games a year, is that not big enough for you?
It doesn't matter if phones will be more powerful soon. Why? Because first of all they actually need to be MUCH more powerful to be able to run games with graphics and physics equal to Vita. Their OS needs more resources in the background and they are built to be all-in-one devices. Vita on the other hand has an OS which requires minimal resources on the background and is designed with gaming as the number one priority.
And more importantly, Vita wipes the floor with all ...
Forced? They did not. You can always disconnect your PS3 from the network and not update it. Not a good option, but an option nevertheless, thus they didn't force remove anything. Also, what xursz said.
It is a very big improvement from FF13, but the thing I disliked the most has it's roots in the foundations of the battle system and Crystarium. Even with the improvements, compared to FF10 or FF12 for example, you are limited a lot on how you want to develop your characters and play the game. I want complete control back. And yes, I played the game, I have platinum from it.
My biggest complaint was the battle and character creation systems. Even with the Crystarium, all characters had certain moulds that you HAD to make them fit in if you wanted to get the best out of them. Limitations like certain characters not being able to learn certain spells at all is just ridiculous. They took almost all possible control from our hands and it made the game extremely boring IMO.
I think the story was pretty good too, not my favourite of FF stories, but it ...
Because: Crapcom.
Aside from a few innovations, such as motion control and 3D on the go, the Nintendo consoles and handhelds have been lagging a whole generation behind hardware wise since the arrival of DS and Wii, and that trend seems to continue.
Hopefully they put at least a little bit of effort to the trophies this time. RE4 trohies were horrible.
Ocarina of Time - Nintendo 64, Gamecube re-release, Wii Virtual Console re-release, 3DS port.
Okami - PS2, PS3 HD remaster.
Yeah, I wonder why.
edit: apparently there was a Wii release for Okami too. But it doesn't matter, you're just exaggerating the reaction OoT 3DS got. Also Okami HD is one of the most wished for hd remasters.
Two things. Metal Gear Rising and the new Fox engine which is a multiplatform engine.
Guess I'll be buying this used then, if at all..
But not liking either.
Did it ever occur to you that maybe there are other modes as well? I'm pretty confident that the gameplay we've seen so far isn't the only mode available in the game.
