The issue isn't whether PS3 will surpass 360 in its lifetime. The issue is how much market share PS3 is going to lose to Nintendo and 360 this gen. Sony droids seem to have forgotten how dominant their console used to be and now celebrate every little piece of hypothetical forecast that PS3 is "catching up". How pathetic.
In its first year, Sony dropped its price drastically and only then started to catch up with 360 on the weekly worldwide sales. Anyone who knows anything about economics will know there's no cause for celebration. Expect to see a 360 price drop this year and then witness Sony trailing far behind again.
More movie fanatics may well pick up PS3 the cheap blu-ray player after this slight victory for blu-ray camp, but gamers are still waiting for PS3 the game console to catch up with 360.
The fact that you have more disagrees than agrees to a perfectly mature and sensible comment shows that there are indeed many d!ck wads - but on this forum they're not from the HD-DVD camp.
Unbelievable! Went away for the weekend and I come back to a site full of crap articles from the Sony camp. Did you guys make it your new year's resolutions to:-
(a) post even more misleading article titles that are not substantiated by the contents;
(b) gratuitously denounce every remote thing that is seen as a threat to Sony; and
(c) basically just spread as much lies as possible thinking that it will somehow help make 2008 being the year of Sony a reality rather than...
Your comments don't count for sh!t.
On this site, Sony people are so damn afraid of good news for 360.
This is a horrible game. Worse than N3 about as bad as Lair imo.
At the end of the day, all independent developers will look at software sales figures. This news is no surprise. Now looking at Square Enix...
Let's see.
360 - strong hardware sales, super software sales.
Wii - super hardware sales, weak software sales.
PS3 - strong hardware sales (being generous here), weak software sales.
Looks like your mindless opinions are not supported by the objective facts.
Strong software sales is a strong contributing factor towards the future dominance of a console because this is definitely a statistic that developers will be keeping an eye on. Wii may have sold more consoles, but I think developers will be mindful of how badly received third party titles have been. From this perspective, I would say that the report card for 2007 shows 360 to be head and shoulders above the competition.
Every time I read the reactions from the Sony camp to these MGS4 to 360 articles, beneath those words of mockery, abuse and insults. I sense a great great fear. I guess they know that this one title (and maybe FF) is just about all that justifies their purchase over a 360.
Still on about the single archilles heel of the 360, I see. Imagine what the sales of 360 would have been without that problem...
But let me say this too. As a 360 owner for over a year and a half, I have only had the console freeze on me on 2 occasions playing Oblivion. As a PS3 owner for just 2 months, I've had the console freezing well over 10 times already, be it when playing a game, playing a game while downloading from PSN on background, or just surfing the net.
This report does not state that PS3 won in hardware sales. In fact it came in last in hardware sales for the week.
In 1.5 years, I have bought over 30 360 games. Like many 360 gamers, rarely does a day pass when I do not switch on the 360 to play a game from the vast library for at least an hour. To be fair, I now have the PS3 too and I switch it on almost every day too to do stuff on it that I can't do on the 360 such as surfing the net, watching a blu-ray movie or replaying NGS.
How much are you willing to wager that wii fit will fail miserably? And by "fail miserably", are you pitching it at the level of failure of PS3 'cos that's more like "fail abysmally" to most.
PS3 fanboys making fools of themselves is nothing new. It became a habit with them since pre-PS3 launch.
Industry watchers have already voiced out that 2007 might well have been the best year for gamers ever. Quite clearly, much of that phenomenon is attributable to the great efforts from Microsoft and to some extent Nintendo.
I wonder if any of those apparently bleeding heart "anti-trolling" PS3 fans will raise their hypocritical indignance against this post from Shaka. Or maybe they're discreetly hitting the agree button and adding bubbles in favor of Shaka.
It may be a hard fact to swallow for many here, but for the best gaming experience, you just have to Jump In, not Play Beyond.
