Rage is older than borderlands, FYI.
What a baby, always someone bitching and moaning that game X isn't completely unique.
He also forgets that Rage was in development before both of those games, and was actually shown before Borderlands ever was. I also don't recall anyone going on about how fresh and innovative it was. Even in id's video series they've released, they've said you know what to expect from us, we make shooters.
Nothing beats a decent directional pad for menu nav (at least on console)
This shit's getting lame EA
Didn't they say the same thing about Reach?
Nope you have no idea.
The SPEs and PPE in the PS3 support double precision (64 bit). Of course it's really up to the developer to decide whether 64 bit is worth it, which in many cases it isn't. 128 bit floating point is even less useful in rendering currently, maybe one day when we have high enough resolution displays where we'd actually need that kind of precision we'll actually use it. But at 1280x720? 1920x1080? lol.
Having super high preci...
I don't think either of you understands what going on under the hood of either game. "High floating point precession"? "MW3 looks Much better Than BF3"? Please stop talking like you know something.
That said I have pre-ordered both games and they both look amazing. Can't wait.
I've almost been "forced" to buy used - I use the word forced meaning if I wanted to buy a particular game, the only way I could get it was used.
I decided I was going to give up my grudge on Alan Wake for being 360 exclusive and just buy it, since I figured it's been out for a while and should be $20 or so. I asked for a new copy, and they checked the computer, and told me it was "discontinued". But they had used copies! I said no thanks and walke...
Nope it wasn't enough. Do you not understand how journalism works? Half the time they can't even relay what he is actually saying, and this is one of those cases. Read his actual quotes instead of letting some shitty site interpret it for you.
So you didn't read the article?
Clearly you don't know what "prediction" means, because the article I read had nothing to do with predictions, but speculation and thought provoking questions.
You win dumbest comment of the day, I don't even have to wait for the day to end, you take the cake.
Like others have been saying, having to look down at another screen to see HUD and what have you is a *detriment* to performance.
And wow, you've thought of one or two minor game mechanics from a single game that would benefit from the extra screen. Unless there is some kind of innovation where you actually use the controller's uniqueness for a major mechanic in shooters, something that would apply to most or all shooters, or convince other shooters to adopt that inno...
Sounds like you're fooling yourselves - to each their own I guess but that controller looks to be extremely awkward for shooters, hell for pretty much everything. All these new control schemes come off as gimmicks that will be fun for a couple days and then you'll be back to the old standard controller/kb+mouse. It's happened to pretty much every controller innovation so far, and I don't think this will be any different.
It's a shame your controller won't.
If sales are so important to you why are you playing COD on your 360 instead of <insert mario game here> on your Wii?
This is a prime example of concentrated stupidity in internet form.
Is this english?
pretty sure, you don't matter
1. That's not what he said, CVG is full of shit.
2. Everyone cares, because this guy is one smart motherfucker.
What he actually said (and this is taken from this article):
"It is a little bit of a shame that despite the raw horsepower, we are hampered by the arm's length API interface because it is, unhappily, true that we have the consoles here running at 60 frames per second and we can have these massively more powerful PC systems that...
Yeah, almost rank 30 after 75 hours. I hope BF3 is the same way, I'll try for max rank this time. Score per minute for me is 225 - never really worried about it to be honest.
