I have loved the fight night series aswell, had them all and saw alot of potential when I first played the original, however, all the fight night games have failed when it comes to offering a deep and satisfying career mode.
This game is taking the series in the wrong direction imo. I don't want some lame scripted cliched story. I want realism, real belts, better AI, more real-life boxers, the option to progress to become my own promoter to negotiate my own super fights, the abil...
@ Toaster
All the wiimote peripherals are pathetic and the move has its fair share of pathetic peripherals as well.
I had the wii zapper and it is ridiculously bad, the main issue I have with it is the fact that you hold it with your right hand forward and your left hand behind, that and it looks like crap. Not sure if I'll get this sharp shooter gun but at least you hold it the way you would hold a gun.
Don't think I'll bother with this one, played the demo a couple of times and wasn't all that impressed, the gunplay seemed really boring and repetitive and the graphics seemed very inconsistent, alright one minute then horrible jaggys and outlines the next, although maybe that's just cause it was a demo. I did quite like the multiple choice responses in the cut scenes although the lip synching is awful, infact there seems to be no attempt at lip synching at all.
Far to...
I want a more in depth career mode as the career modes of the past Fight Night games have always been a let down however I absolutely do not want an underworld/ prison/ mobster cliched story.
I want to see a more realistic approach towards taking my fighter to the top of the boxing world and eventually into the Hall of Fame - I want deeper and more enjoyable training modes instead of the mundane ones we keep getting, I want to take my fighter to the olympics when starting out in the a...
WTF is this? This isn't Fight Night - I don't want some lame scripted story, I want to create my own fighter and make my own story. Fight Night is a boxing franchise about boxing, not the cliched underworld gangster, mobster, prison drama crap this is. This game doesn't fit into the Fight Night series.
Very dissapointed in the route EA have taken here - deciding to cheapen the whole experience with a stupid story and not offer Move support. This was the last EA Sports fra...
@midnighteric:
So what are you trying to say? That some devs have trouble porting games to the PS3, if so then I think that can be regarded as stating the bloody obvious. Or perhaps your saying the PS3 is not a more powerful console afterall, if so then refer to ksense's comment.
In this instance though the reviewers HAVE gotten alot wrong, this is a fact not just opinion.
The reviews constantly complained about issues with the motion tracking not being anywhere close to 1:1 and hit detection being very poor. Anybody that has spent more than a couple of hours playing this game knows for a FACT that this is not true. You need to spend time in the training modes earning XP to upgrade your characters abilities. It is very obvious to those of us who own a...
Holy crap! What a fantastic update - BFBC2 Veitnam and Echochrome ii are definates for me along with Mass Effect 2 demo, Dead Space 2 demo and Little Big Plant 2 demo - Great stuff.
Alot of people were looking forward to a motion fighting game. They had expectations of a fighting game with 1:1 motion tracking with a bit of gritty realism and the chance to fight real opponents online. The Fight goes a long way to satisfying those peoples expectations yet you wouldn't think it from reading the "professional" reviews.
The user reviews give you a far better indication of the types of people enjoying the game, you can then determine if you are t...
How was MAG designed for Move?
I love playing MAG with Move but I don't understand your statement.
I managed to get it to shuffle but I found it would quite often repeat the same songs after playing them only a few moments earlier.
I've made my own GT5 playlist in the XMB with about 100 songs on it and I prefer to just let it play through in the playlists order.
@ujean69
"Overpriced" ?
It was expensive but it wasn't overpriced. It was selling for approximately 75% of it's manufacturing costs, that's not overpriced if anything it was underpriced.
I love this game to bits but I hate almost all the music on it. I've disabled all the Jazz and Lounge Music tracks so they never come on as I just can't stand them.
Of the 189 songs in the game I perhaps have about 40 switched on for menu music and I listen to my custom soundtracks when racing. The only problem is you can't enable your custom music when racing online.
Glad to here you're doing so well out of it Genericloser. You'll soon be able retire with that handsome little profit.
The Fight captures the speed of your punches and calculates your average punching power.
One of the online stat tables is heaviest punch.
Don't believe what the idiot reviewers said about The Fight: Lights Out, the game works very well once you upgrade your fighters stats and it is 1 to 1.
It would be fantastic to have a proper boxing game with the same controls.
I usually look forward to Fight Night games but this one is just not doing it for me. I think it's the dissapointment of no move controls.
@AAACE5
"I have always wondered why Sony didn't take the six axis controls and used them as a steering wheel for GT5P or even now GT 5!"
They did that for Wipeout and it's not very good, it was also used for Burnout Paradise and again with dissapointing results. You can also buy a wheel shaped docking thing for the DS3, similar to the Wii Wheel but it's just not as good.
Once you've used a proper wheel for the likes of GT you...
I agree, you have to have Ali, but I don't see how a downpoint of Round 4 was that it had "no one interesting but Ali", considering he's appeared in every Fight Night game so far.
Round 4 had about 50 fighters (about double what Round 3 had) and some interesting additions that we hadn't seen before that are worth mentioning including Tyson, Chavez, Hearns, Whitaker, Calzaghe and Pavlik. I can't for the life of me understand why Haye and Butter Bean a...
"and bought the same boxers as before, No one interesting but Ali."
What? Surely the most "interesting" boxer in Round 4 was Tyson, considering it was his first appearance in the series and Ali has been in all of them.
And I don't see how that list of confirmed fighters proves that the new game will be "number one contender", there are only 2 fighters there that weren't in Round 4 - Butter Bean and David Haye, hardly ...
I've bought every fight night game on release but I'm skipping this one too, I may pick it up cheap later in the year.
Not happy about the cliched story mode. I don't understand the idea behind introducing a story mode to a sport sim, I hope it's not a success otherwise we will be seeing it introduced to FIFA and Tiger Woods next.
