This is a good deal. Futureshop are a pretty good store to get electronics because everything gets rotated and put on sale.
That is interesting, i wonder if Gears does push the 360 pretty hard. My 360 is always well ventilated too, on an open shelf. I had been playing Gears for about 2 months and playing a lot before my 360 died.
When my launch console went south it got the three rings because heat caused the motherboard to warp, therefore causing the GPU to lift off the motherboard. I was playing gears, the graphics went all funny, then after restarting i had rings. My new one has been great though.
People have to remember that statistically 3,000 units out of every 100,000 should fail. I am not saying this isn't the RROD problem that we have seen with original 360s, but if this is only affecting 'hundreds of users' then depending on sales numbers this should be expected. Does anyone know how many elites have been sold in the UK, because if so we can figure out how many would normally fail?
You are right dude, if you are half decent at the game then it isn't hard to get a headshot on the elite from behind. Plus the elites have the downside of having part of their head at centre of mass from the front, so with the BR you don't have the raise your aim much from centre of mass for the final headshot like you have to do with a spartan.
Plus the elites also have the advantage of running 0.001 times fast that the spartans :-P
That is good that you bought up MLG's endorsement, i wouldn't have thought of bringing that up until you mentioned it.
In my opinion it wasn't overhyped, it was just well advertised. Plus Halo 3 is a sweet game, the story was interesting, the game play is fun, and the multiplier is fantastic. Halo 3 gets bashed a lot for the same reason the Wii gets bashed so much. Wii is the number 1 selling console, Halo 3 is the number 1 selling game. I can't even begin to count the number of times i have seen the Wii called a gimic. Some people have a really hard time with the fact that the console they own isn't #1 ...
Good post dude. I think the only people that multiple discs will bother are lazy people.
Good work Jenzo. Last time i checked i really enjoyed playing Baldur's Gate 2 back in the day on PC. That was on 5 discs i believe and that wasn't a pain in the butt. 2 DVDs is definitely ok.
Granted i don't own a PS3 but this isn't really a big deal is it? Xbox 360 achievements (same as trophies right?) are just there, granted they can be used as a challenge to further explore a game or replay it on a harder difficulty but that is all they are really good for. I think it would be more important that new PS3 games have trophy support, rather than older titles.
I know that lots of people were disappointed with Halo 3 but i really enjoyed the game all round so a Halo 4 would make me happy. Keep them coming Microsoft.
Do some people actually think that microsoft didn't make sweet profits on the Halo series?
If i was microsoft i would release another Halo because they made loads of money off of the first 3.
Kudos to all you guys, there are some very very sensible posts in here. I was expecting a mud flinging contest when i saw this article. Owning both consoles is definitely the best of both worlds and if you are really into gaming and of course have the money and time for two consoles then having a PS3 and a 360 would be fantastic!
It is fairly amusing that many of the people complaining about the ads or saying how bad they are, are people that own PS3s and don't own 360s.
Personally i am really ticked off how much it costs to run a Ferrari F40 these days with the high price of gas.
@ dachiefsman - you made me laugh my ass off, bubbles
@ Crab - good posts dude bubbles for you senior
Agreed m9105826. The first time i read your post i thought you said "violate myself" :-P I should read instead of skim but at least it was amusing for a few seconds until i realized what you really said.
Well said! I read the article and thought to myself "there are ads on xbox live?" I honestly haven't ever paid enough attention to notice these ads. When i am cruising live i know where i am going and i go there, i don't stop to look at ads. A good post though, bubbles for you man.
Also, if ads on xbox live do bother you, then do you pay for cable or satellite tv? Last time i checked you pay a lot more money for tv service and i am pretty sure there are ads there right? ...
Why do people say that the Wii is a gimic? It is a legit system and deserves to be doing well because it is fun. Do some just hate the Wii because it is the number 1 selling console?
I think this is reading to much into what he said. I think he was saying that they chose to develop on one console because it would have been much more difficult to develop on two systems and split up resources for different consoles. Therefore, by focusing on one console they are able to assure top notch quality.
