There were 34 units in stock in Jena, Missouri when I asked today. No Elites.
Before I moved down from Canada a couple months ago, there were always units @ Zellers.
News of the shortage is over-stated me'thinks.
Achievements are like a meta-game, I love the small sense of pride you get ever time a you increase your GamerScore.
Its strange, and irrational I know, but boy is it fun.
This guy, well, he's out-of-control. It is good he stopped, for his own health. :)
Where? I didnt see it as I submitted it.
And, the Resistence Developers had to give up big chunks of memory to do so. Maybe that is why the AI was so bad.
One serious issue is the amount of memory that the PS3 OS uses when developers want to make these things available.
Each "module", chat, in game DLC, music, game-invites that are always present in the Xboox 360 Guide have to be implemented on a game-by-game basis on the PS3, and require much much more RAM and CPU core reservations.
The firmware on the PS3 is just a mess.
There are great articles on innerbits.com about all this...
The article was less than honest about the difference between what MS has done and what Sony has done.
The only difference between the consoles is the peripherals that they are packed with. Internally, they are all the same.
When they said "you dont need HDMI for HD" they were correct, and still, the only difference between a non-HDMI machine and a HDMI machine is a cable.
SONY on the other hand reduced function in the machine by taking ...
"MGS4, FF, GT5 could move 1,000,000 consoles a month by themselves"
Are you _on_ crack? Perhaps FF would be a big mover in Japan, but the other two really arent going to have that big a draw.
EDIT: This is misposted, it is a reply to #31 Below
The PS3 was about a year late, but the developers had their Developer kits on time.
The PS3 being late to market didnt give the Xbox 360 developers a head start. They both started at the same time (so to speak).
Its a flawed argument.
The PS3 games should be at the same pace and quality as Xbox 360, the simple fact of the matter is they are not.
Why did EA buy BioWare and Pandemic?
One Reason: Peter Moore. Peter Moore knows that BioWare is going to be _printing_ money with the Mass Effect trilogy.
He knows it, you know it, I know it. He's a smart business person, he's going to make EA money.
And, have you seen the previews of Pandemic's Saboteur? Another great looking, sure to be AAA hit.

"and seeks to create their own IP on platforms of their choice "
Hahahhaha. Still clinging to that lie are you? MS did the same thing with its studios in Japan, it pushed them out of the nest.
I (personally) believe MS knows that the studios need independance to foster their own creative culture... being part of a big company doesnt help in that goal, so move them out.
If there was anything wrong with the MS - Bungie split, we'd have he...
Why would Capcom need the "Sympathy" of PS3 owners?
You should be happy they are giving 3rd party support at all. The abysmal sales of the console and the woeful attach rate, you should be a little more humble.
A bit demanding are you, sheesh.
I read almost as much as I play videogames, I really enjoy the universe-expanding back stories like this.
Not Asimov or Stephenson caliber work, but usually a decent read. Things like this usually help you appreciate what it is that you're doing in a video game.
Kudos to BioWare and MS for seeing this done.
"I dont see the point in comparing figures before the price drop for the PS3"
Of course you dont, because your prescious PS3 is collecting dust, while Xbox 360s are flying off the shelves. Of course you dont see the point. Your an delusional PS3 fanboy. You look at a Half Million Xbox 360 month, put your fingers in your ears and say "Oh, nah, nah, nah, it doenst matter".
It does matter. Thats *ANOTHER* 350,000 lead over the PS3 install base.
Its almost embarassing to see you apologize for your PS3. This is exactly what was expected to happen. And Halo 3 -- along with the best lineup for any console in 2007 -- will continue to move Consoles well into next year.
People are seeing what a great machine the Xbox 360 is, and the games get great reviews and dominate the sales charts -- what do you think is going to happen? A $400 gimped PS3 isnt going to do *ANYTHING* to change this reality.
This relatio...
ff13 and ff13 versus -- isnt MGS4 also MGS4 and MGS4 Online? ie, both games are split into two titles?
Edit: Some more exclusive games of note before 08 are Beautiful Katamari, Naruto: Rise of a Ninja, Kayne & Lynch, Ace Combat 6 and Scene It?.
Edit 2: MGS4 Online does appear to be a seperate title -- 2 disagrees, but no word about MGS4 Online. Are PS3 owners going to have to buy two games?
According to this wikipedia article, that is exactl...
I disagree. You only need to look at the games. On that alone, the Xbox 360 wins.
Further, this generation is about more than games. It is about the "Extras" the console can do. And Microsoft is bringing the cool stuff. Internet TV. The whole LIVE experience. The LIVE Messenger cross chat with PC (hopefully Video soon...). The guide.
Feature for feature, the Xbox 360 is a better product.
Two catches: The heat failures were bad PR...
More than any game before it, Lost Odyssey from the FF creative team will surely make a dent in Japan's vision of Xbox 360.
There is no way to deny it, the game looks great and the creative team is the best that Japan has ever had in the genre -- possibly the most successful team ever (save Miyamoto @ Nintendo).
Lost Odyssey is a much bigger deal than people appreciate (IMHO) at the moment. It is released in Dec 07 in Japan, Feb 08 in EU/America.
What are you talking about? The O.P. is right, here is what IGN said in their hardware shoot-out;

"CONCLUSION: When you break down the numbers, Xbox 360 has provably more performance than PS3. Keep in mind that Sony has a track record of over promising and under delivering on technical performance. The truth is that both systems pack a lot of power for high definition games and entertainment.
