No, not really. Sony filed a patent some time ago to do this. At the time, I remmeber people being surprised -- and the usual flaming and apologies from Sony fans.
It is Sony's intention -- based on this game testing the waters, and this patent -- to undermine the used game market by preventing re-sales.

Konami is selling you one key, for one user / console combination only.
Its practically criminal. I expect their to be lawsuits over this eventually. Right-first-sale issues come into play, there are laws preventing Firms from stopping you from selling what you rightfully own.

Well, what absolutely insane person would write such articles? The Xbox 360 will almost certainly (99.9999%) continue to dominate game sales and console sales.

R&C has 8.9 / 10 on Metacritic. You simply cannot ignore reviews if they are bad in order to argue that the game is "well recieved".
I actually expected R&C to have a higher score.
As for Uncharted, it seems like a passable game. I suspect that reviews will be even more mixed. Probably end up 7.9-8.3ish on Metacritic (if I had to guess). Somewhere around HS range ( 7.9 / 10 ) probably...

The Metacritic average is 8.9 / 10.
Its not just Gamespot that has issues with the game.
Famitsu ranked R&C 36 / 40.
Just to note, this score would be inline with what you're seeing from R&C on metacritic.
To contrast, Famitsu gave Halo 3 37 / 40 and Blue Dragon 37 / 40. Not platform games, but just so you know, they liked BD & H3 more than R&C... discuss.
