I played the Demo, and this is just a great game. As for the "iffy's" here, Im ok without too much of a "story" here. This is a competitive strategy game at its heart.
Having a "story" here might have been out of place. Really not that big-a-deal.
Hopefully the "Heat" from comments in this Gamers Forum counts for more than the heat in the empty-headed arguing forum.

About 30-40% of the current DVD market will still be shipping on HD-DVD. And, I think the BR / HD-DVD alignment of these firms isnt set in stone just yet.
Well, at leats half of Xbox 360 owners pay for LIVE. They would have high-speed service (i would reasonably guess).
That said, Digital Distribution doesnt have to be the sole method. I expect the two to exist for some time in parallel until the unnecessary costs are (the physical distribution) finally collapses as unnecessary.
This will happen before stand-alone HD-DVD or BR players are ubiquitous enough to come close to common or replacement for DVD.

Your correct, but MS will choose to ship their software on HD-DVD, they also have control over the format that Game for Windows is published on.
This helps set the industry agenda. Further, they can release players for HDi and make authoring HDi content easier etc.
The PC became a major factor in the "DVD / Movie" entertainment paradigm, I expect it to become more important in the future.

HD-DVD will be the PC-centric format, and BR is the MPAA / RIAA DRM format -- if they get their way.
HD-DVD has three very compelling features that MPAA is interested in killing:
A) HD-DVDs include a DVD-quality film on disc, and can play in normal DVDs. This prevents them from making a "two tier" price, and to gouge the HD-DVD version.
B) HD-DVD players upscale your existing DVDs. This prevents them from RESELLING you all your discs. ...
Rez -- even igoring its erotic potential -- is one stellar game. Great to see it on XBLA.
After-market bundles from retailers can include many options. This isnt that big a deal, certainly not "news".

A Boy and His Dog, Mad Max, Threads are all interesting studies that cross man vs. man with man vs. nature. People in a common situation that causes them to fight, I can believe that kind of motivation because it seems more rational (survival).
Fallout is a wonderful kind of game world. I look forward too it, and am glad that its Multi-Plat, so we can all enjoy it.

Is anyone surprised by this? Microsoft doesnt have any interest in MPAA / RIAA media formats.
They have their own distribution method; Digital Distribution. I expect MS to support HD-DVD on the PC side, and that alone will make it ubiquitous.
That PC-ubiquity will mean that the MPAA / RIAA keeps to BR in order to prevent the kind of free-distribution we see with DVDs.
I dont think its good for the customer, i think its good for the MPAA / RIAA. ...

how? If they were working on it 6 Years Ago, then it was MS who came up with the idea to put a Virtual world on a console.
Perhaps Sony got wind of it somehow and said "Oh, we gotta copy that" and then MS stopped working on it for a while...
Ergo, Sony is copying MS.
So, why would they port a game to PS3? If they're about making money, PS3 isnt the place to be. The development costs more, the console owners buy few games, and the install base is small.
