Why do idiots keep saying BF3 is like BFBC2? Really are people that daft that they know nothing about why there is legit hype behind BF3?

You don't know about 64+ players with fully destructible environments, physics-based weapons with bullet drop and wall breakage? You don't know about the enhanced AI mechanics and reactionary animation setup for a much more realistic experience?
Multi-area destructible vehicles and advanced physics for vehicular combat? Pho...

You can't ignore the clones of CoD though.

This boils down to industry influence and CoD has the most influence, which IS NOT A GOOD THING.

Crysis 2 tried mimicking CoD with its single and multiplayer...going from an open-world, massive, evolutionary gameplay style in Crysis 1 to a more multi-linear setup in the second game. And then they added all those fake perks and killstreaks....geesh. Everyone is trying to mimic CoD to cash in on the popularity eve...

I agree.

They could even use a GTA 4 style control design in an open-world but it depends on the director and creative team to determine whether it's horror or not.

Dead Space 2 had intuitive controls and was far more horror oriented than Resident Evil 5.

Agreed.

Except they need to keep co-op but change the way it's handled. They need more parts where players need to hold the light, or split-up...recreating classic horror movie moments. They really didn't take advantage of this feature in the 5th game.

Didn't matter. It was going to Game Informer.

If some small no-name site got the scoop they wouldn't be able to run it anyways...they'd have to wait until the bigger sites got their share and the small site would receive NOTHING in return.

It amazes me how fascists and oligarchic the gaming "journalism" biz has become, where only the upper echelon of mags and sites deserve to run exclusives. If you call that ethical then you, my friend...

"WTF are you on about. Buy from origin, pre load with origin and add to steam launch list. You dont need origin running after."

Uh, and what happens when the game gets deleted, must be re-installed, you want DLC?

It's not about using Steam, it's about the security of Steam. The one thing you don't hear about gamers complaining about is getting screwed over from their Steam purchases.

I don't think anyone likes Steam&...

It's Valve's games...they can do with them what they want. They're a developer, publisher and digital distribution provider.

Besides, the only reason people are making a fuss is because 1.) Valve is good at developing games. 2.) Valve is good at publishing those games. And 3.) Valve's Steam isn't about screwing people over and has garnered a lot of trust from the community.

If a game ain't on Steam a lot of people won't buy it. I...

It's because Steam, for the lack of a better term, safeguards its consumers. If you pay for it, you know it's yours and it's safe. Valve really does put the consumers first with Steam.

The problem is that a lot of people don't want to open or register multiple accounts with digital distributors for one game and have no safeguards or guarantees.

I can't blame anyone because I was going to buy BF3 from Steam, too. They have great deals and ...

I think a lot of people tend to forget that gaming has become part our daily culture (I speak on behalf of core gamers).

The "Girl Gamer" movement is no different than the nerdy kid at school hanging around the jocks trying to "fit in" because he thinks they're cool. That's what gaming has become since it went mainstream (as others posters mentioned) with the DS and Wii.

Realistically, if you're a gamer then you're a gamer,...

Blackknight is correct.

$80 is just a scare tactic corporations use to say that YOU MUST PAY IT BECAUSE WE SAY SO.

Don't be naive.

Is Limbo worth $60? Did it require 500 people to make that award-worthy game? No.

Did it take 1000 people to make the Samaritan demo? What's more, everything shown in that demo was in-house, so technically, without paying for voice-actors, they could have tossed in a H.U.D. and some A.I....

@Wh15ky

There's a game called Ran that sees players from different schools fighting each other to stay alive amongst the increase in citywide crime. It's thematically and aesthetically very similar to Battle Royale.

The article is days old already.

And did EA change the TOS/EULA or did they just spout some PR stuff because there is a difference.

...or do you work for EA?

I hope you're right.

Good thing I also didn't buy a 6670...I heard they were good for X-Fire but too many games have problems Crossfired.

After BF3 releases I'm gonna find a good card that can run the game maxed.

PC version requires teamwork and Bad Company 2 was/is far more noob friendly than Battlefield 2 or Battlefield 3.

Try playing Battlefield Play4Free and going lone-gunman...you'll get faceplanted every time by some snipers and a few supported ground troops.

Does this mean Treyarch failed again?

Um, because they were elected to do so. The purpose of a Government is to oversee and protect the people that elected them to do so.

If people weren't generally retarded they would be able to take care of themselves. But since most people are retarded (selfish, ignorant, fools) they need Governments to make stupid decisions for them.

I've got too many accounts with too many different companies to sign up for yet another. While it's tempting for the BF3 alpha, I find that all the games on Origin are way overpriced, especially for old games no one plays anymore.

I'll just wait patiently and play BF3 at a later time...*sigh*

Solo? Can you play this game in a co-op mode? I always thought it was just a medieval version of Mass Effect???
