I know right? This whole board is filled with so many console fanboys thinking the consoles will still have graphically insane games in 2012.
Hard Reset looks better than any console game released this year and that was made by an indie dev. Heck, QUBE looks better than the console versions of Portal 2 and that was made by a few students.
That list is fail because just about any PC exclusive in 2012 will make all the console games look like last-gen...oh w...
You must not own a PC, eh?
They disagreed because GTA V doesn't belong on the list.
It doesn't even look better than GTA IV iCEnhanced. How can a new game be graphically insane when it doesn't look better than its predecessor?
The be all you can't be trailer? I loved it.
A lot of commenters on here seem to be CoD noobs, and if you aren't a high level with high mods on a spray'n'pray weapon then you're gonna get creamed playing CoD style. If you play more like Battlefield and you're a newb then you have a chance of winning.
Most people don't want to utilize teamwork though, which is a shame and not the game's fault. Also, it seems to be balanced quit...
I agree.
I'm not impressed with SW: TOR at all. The fighting looks like it came out of 2005 and the graphics look like they came out of 2007.
I'm sorry but after playing recent MMOs SW: TOR is just too dated for my tastes. The good vs evil thing isn't even incentive enough.
Mortal Online was horrible but at least you could call it a game changer. APB: R has its problems but I'd definitely consider that a gamer changer.
...
Allods already did that and so did Fallen Earth and so did Vindictus and Dragon Nest and Lunia Online and so did a lot of other MMOs you probably never heard of.
More than anything SW:TOR is just bringing a lot of mainstream NON-MMO fans to the MMO party. People who have been playing MMOs for years will see TOR and go "Meh, been there done that".
A lot of stupid characters on that list....Ripley? Really? Ugh.
Pinhead was a good choice, they also need Leslie Vernon (his creepy dollface mask would fit in perfectly with the look of the new Mortal Kombat).
Some other hopefuls would be Vamp from Metal Gear Solid (though I doubt Kojima would lend him out like that), and he would some wicked finishers with those small cutting knives.
The Mask from Splatterhouse.
Pyramid Head ...
So I guess QUBE was just an accident that happens to look spot-on amazing?
Don't give me that "more difficult" crap when more and more middleware and engine proprietors are making it more and more convenient for Joe-Nobodies to churn out triple-A looking games.
With stuff like Euclideon on the horizon development costs certainly SHOULD NOT go up because of graphics and audio. As for the gameplay scope and mechanics, that's a whole other stor...
Yeah F2P is already the future.
After playing a game like Allods what's the point of paying $15 a month for WoW when you get less content, worse graphics and less original gameplay?
Plus, airship PvP battles FTW!
Firefall and Tribes are already in beta right now aren't they?
I know I already played Tribes...it's kind of fun.
COMPLETELY AGREE.
Regenerating health has been the absolute bane of today's generation of gaming. It's basically turned into "Uh oh, I'm about to die, better go hide in this corner until I get full health and then go Full-RAMBO ON THOSE MOFOS!"
If the Last of Us is a thinking man's action game that would be awesome. Scavenging for stuff and actually trying to survive as opposed to relying on spurts of Ramboism would be a nice change ...
Apparently this guy never seen a Chuck Norris movie.
Or more importantly he never seen this...

Yet you were compelled to see what this celebrity had to say because her dress spoke to you, eh?
Yeah but at $60 a pop? It's like you get new maps and some new weapons in most games but very little of anything else.
A lot of what we get in annual releases are what we used to get for free from the modding community. But publishers are continually restrcting modders from having access to games so that they can make money off less-than-smart gamers by churning out mod-style maps for $15 - $20.
Then again, I can't really blame the publishers when g...
Calm down? Uh, that article basically says that EA admits some of their games have expiration dates for Online Passes and that others aren't supposed to expire but if they do you still have to buy another or get another one. The tech is basically saying the same thing the people in the Shacknews article said except they make it seem like it's convenient.
Ugh, gamers becoming complacent with corporate butt raping is actually more sad than the corporate butt raping. <...
Uh, Maverick, if you buy a game brand new because you want to access the multiplayer and the code doesn't work it means you have to fork over another $10 just to play online. I don't remember any other company ever doing anything like that.
EA set expiration dates for online passes, why the heck would this guy need to lie? I'm sorry but if it was a respectable publisher I'd side with the pub (like Bethesda or Rockstar) but this is EA and they're now synonmous with butt raping their consumers.
Compare that to $15 for two map packs for a certain other game and the differences are staggering.
Too bad majority of gamers prefer paying more and getting less as opposed to getting more and paying less.
Bubbles. You took the post right out of my fingers. Saves me time for typing.
Also I hope those rumors of the 720 having only 2GB of RAM are false, otherwise I'll just skip the next gen altogether.
I think the PS3 and 360 need to let the graphics tide go away for good for the rest of the gen. Big budget games should focus entirely on pushing boundaries gameplay-wise.
I'd rather play a game with an insane amount of guys running around on the screen than have a game look gorgeous but only have two or three competent AI working.
The biggest problem the consoles face now is competing with the PC ports, which are now so far ahead graphically it's j...
