As for games graphics marketing. If developers did all or many of the author's suggestions but keep the resolution at 720p, it will not be as exciting as marketing the game at 1080p with none or few of the author's suggestions.

It's not about how many pixels on the screen but higher details on textures, antialiasing, etc. But marketing and consumers love big number, ie. 1080p.

As a proof, how many current gen games with great graphics details like...

In one of my game saves, only Shepard, Samara, Kasumi and Zaeed survived the suicide mission. Since Samara and Kasumi aren't coming back, it will be very interesting to see how Shepard is going to fight with only Zaeed.

I hope Bioware doesn't replace the dead former squardmates with generic characters that are just as capable.

It's not the question if next gen consoles can produce graphics models that detail. It's the question how often game publishers are willing to spend the cost and time to have developers design such graphics. More detail models = more time to create it and more time to create it = more expensive. Since more artists are needed to create all the models in the game = more time + more artists = more expensive.

Even with current gen PS3 and X360 hardware can still produce d...

Since Square is unable to ship Vs XIII, they need to milk XIII for profit. XIII-2 is created for that reason.

The problem with Uncharted and having guns is that's all it is. When there are enemies, Drake has one solution, shoot and kill them all. And is all Drake can do for the entire game whenever there are enemies. I'm not trying to pick on Uncharted but most action adventure games today are all about kill all your enemies that blocks your way.

In traditional adventure games, if there are enemies, the game can provide different methods to get around them. Guns are not alway...

The Longest Journey and Dreamfall were the last great adventure games made. I didn't call "action adventure" because a well written and designed adventure games don't need a gun or weapon to kill every enemy on the way. The graphics may not be great but decent. I still have Dreamfall on Xbox version and when I replay it, I quickly forget about the graphics because of great storytelling. Dreamfall ended with unknown fate if April if she died trying to save Zoe and Zoe ended i...

The problem with at least play it is I have to buy the game. If the game turns out like what I read, then I have just wasted another $60 and telling Square, please keep milking me for more sequels.

I'm not as easily sold like most gamers. Good hype means spend the money to try it.

You need to remember that FF XIII-2 is made purely to keep Square quarterly profit flowing until Vs XIII comes out.

I was a big fan of FF XIII and very interested in XIII-2 until I read about poor story and no ending. I completely lost interest in XIII-2 then. I have no interest in letting Square milking me left and right. Too bad Square, you completely lost another FF XIII fan.

Problem is this is an experiment that has never been done. So we'll never know. As of making profit, obviously no.

If Microsoft is willing to spend the money to gather the data, it will be interesting on the results.

If X360 just sell a little more in Japan, it would become the top seller. No other console sells like 0.1 Japan according to the table.

Microsoft is US brand but what if all the X360 electronics parts and casing are made in Japan? That would make X360 more "Home/Japan made" than other consoles. Will Japanese gamers buy slightly more X360?

While you said probably the official reason but why didn't Microsoft sale 6000 MS points card for US$50 MSRP? It's to get Live users think they aren't spending as much as the actual value.

For example, when you spend 4000 MS points (which is $50 MSRP), it "feels" more like you are only spending "$40".

This system is commonly done for reward points. They give you more larger number points that are worth less when converted to ac...

Well, use you basic math division skill or loose discount to MS actual currency card.

Which is better?

When we loose daily discount to MS points card if MS does switch to actual currency card, then don't complain. (Do you hear PS3/Wii gamers complain about lack/very rare discount to their actual currency points card? They got used to paying full price.)

Who wrote the article? All the article has it's Amazon has sale on the Gold Live card.

As for the reason, I don't play online multiplayer games and don't care about able to watch Netflix, ESPN or YouTube. I don't post on Facebook or Twitter (not everyone want to post one's life to the world). Currently I do have $1/month Gold Live and I still don't use the Gold Live stuff.

So, article author, try harder to give me reasons to subscribe ...

Why is it so difficult for MS Points buyers remember divide by 80 = actual $ value?

Because there's no $ value on MS points card, it's often on sale that PS3/Wii points card rarely on sale.

What a joke having to buy Lightning to play her chapter. It's like Square milking the fans with a sequel isn't enough, time to strip out XIII-2 contents and milk you harder as DLC.

I was interested in XIII-2 originally until I read about the story is bad.

Too bad, Square lost another XIII fan that weren't that large to begin with.

Remember marketing (including developers that got influenced) will twist the math however they want to come out with large number. And many gamers easily get sold without any proof.

That's why proof it with games. I can't play a number no matter how large it is.

Prove Wii U in games (not poorly coded games) than I'll believe. Simply saying the hardware is twice as powerful is meaningless because without games to prove it, the hardware is just a paper weight.

Remember argument that PS3 hardware is powerful than X360. Need games to prove it.

Every thought 99% of us are holding the controller wrong all these time? I always thought having to move my right thumb to press the other 4 face buttons is illogical. Some games have quicktime multi-pressing buttons such as Square+Triangle or X+O or Square+O. Hold the controller backwards and it's easy to do it.

Maybe PS3 controller designers also designed L2 and R2 in mind for holding the controller backwards.

Only X360 controller is design for forward ...

Pretty environment is great but please don't do another game just like Uncharted, run, shoot, climb, repeat. If so, then Last of Us becomes another Uncharted clone.

Also, please don't hand guiding so much like in Uncharted where the environment is locked very tight that I can only walk "straight" to the target and everything is neatly put in front of you that you never have to think what to do and puzzles are super simplified. I'm playing a game, not wat...
