Good. Never like Sony using an actor that knows nothing about gaming to pretend he knows everything about gaming. There are good actors who can really act like a real gamer on the screen and "Kevin Butler" or whoever his real name is sure doesn't. If Sony also being a movie studio believes in using an actor to promote PS3, get a good actor.
That explains why when the PS3 version has exclusive extra contents as download, than on disc. A clever way for Microsoft to ensure Blu-ray disc can't be used as an advantage for the exclusive extra contents.
But will be interesting for big titles such as Battlefield if EA chooses to give PS3 version exclusive extra contents on the disc and Microsoft refuses to publish the game. Or, Microsoft just sneaks some cash under the table to the publisher to not do it.

I asked Blockbuster stores in the past about the 1st person to rent each copy of the game gets a free online pass code while the rest of the renters don't. But the store has no idea what I was talking about.
As for MK, they left the code card in the rental copy? Whoever packs the games for rental really doesn't know about online pass is one account use only.
Some PS3 DLCs are locked to specific region games. So, even the console will run disc games from any region, you need to be sure that the DLCs are not region specific.
I would say Sony makes PS3 less restrictive to run games from any region but that has nothing to do with Sony respecting gamers. I would say Sony does not really respect gamers with plenty of reasons but I'm not going into that now.
While PS3 games can have up to 50GB on one Blu-ray disc as said in the article, then why are there still developers saying one Blu-ray disc isn't large enough when they are only referring to 25GB Blu-ray disc? ie. recently statement from Team Bondi who made LA Noire.
Higher cost to manufacture dual-layer 50GB disc isn't an excuse because there are plenty of cheapo Blu-ray movies that still using 50GB disc. Obviously, the cost different of manufacturing single or dual ...
To most casual gamers or family that needs to buy more Wii consoles for their kids, cheaper is always more attractive. Most don't even know functions that got dropped over the hardware revisions. If they do need those functions, they just live without it.
I spoke to many casual PS3 owners who buy non-BC models and they always said they thought their PS3 still has BC when they bought it and later found it doesn't have BC. To them, they just live without the BC and happ...
The source I read about Nintendo dropped 480p after the 1st model must be incorrect. Forgot where I read it long time ago. Since GC component video cable is so rare and expensive, having a Wii to output GC games at 480p becomes a better option.
On my LCD screen, 480p does look cleaner, not great but better than 480i that makes smaller text very difficult to read.
I can see the reason Nintendo drops the GC ports off the new Wii because new casual gamers who ne...
An advantage of using Wii to play Gamecube games is able to display in 480p. Only the 1st model of Gamecube console had 480p but the hardware revisions since only able to display in 480i.
With larger screen, 480p looks cleaner when playing Gamecube games.
After Microsoft made Halo 3 and Reach famous with $150 edition, other publishers are joining the party trying to milk the fans.
They know there will be enough fans who are willing to spend $150 for the CE. If they made too many CE, there will be plenty of unsold sets around. Just want for a few months for the price to drop. Learn to be patience if you don't want to waste your money.
I agree with when selling used game as business that doesn't reward the work from publisher and developers.
But one area that never get discussed is among family members and friends. Such "online pass" system also punishes them because everyone is expected to buy their own copy or pay extra when received an used game. What happens the idea of sharing among siblings and friends taught when we were a kid. What happens to passing the older games down to your siblin...
If you subscribe to PS+ and have auto update enabled, the PS3 will auto turn itself on to check on updates.
But if you don't, it's possible some Bluetooth device is registered to PS3. PS3 Remote Control will turn on the PS3 if any of the remote button is pressed. If you have a Bluetooth keyboard, that can do the same. Not sure what other non-PS3 Bluetooth device can get registered.
Another possible reason is your PS3 is set to remote active from a PSP...
While it usually takes at least a year before we know if the lesser cooling is enough, why do we need to do extra work to ensure the new model needs to be well vented while the previous model built-in extra cooling can better deal with it?
The reality is when Sony cut the hardware parts down, the savings for Sony often don't transfer to the gamers. We pay for the parts either way, either built into the console or buy them separately.
Examples, less USB po...
Reply to BrianG:
For 1st gen HDTV that only has component video, there's no way for the 3000 model to play Blu-ray in 1080p.
For games yes, that's correct, it's uneffected.
Still the analog sunset enforcing HDMI to play in 1080p is useless for pirates because it's much easier to decode directly from Blu-ray disc as they have been done. Even HDCP has already been cracked. So really the new enforcement is useless.

If you still have the 1st gen HDTV without HDMI, the 3000 model doesn't support playing 720p or higher resolution when playing Blu-ray movies. It's the analog sunset dumb requirement that does nothing to stop pirates. It's only good to force early HDTV owners having to buy a new HDTV if they buy the 3000 model.
The real test of the 80mm fan (3000) vs 120mm fan (2x00) is run the both versions in warm summer temperature for several hours of intense gaming.
I still like to see how well the 3000 model smaller fan and heatsink perform since there's no change to the cell and GPU from other reported news.
Sony only need to ensure the 3000 model can last 1 year for the warranty. Let's hope Sony QA didn't push the reliability to be bare minimum (whatever is accep...
Since there are more disagree, I guess more gamers do want to believe the illusion of forcing the games to run in 1080p have to be better.
This just shows after all these years debating about most console games natively rendered in 720p (or less), a lot of gamers will want to "feel" better by seeing their HDTV showing "1080p" when running 720p native games.
I happened to be talking to a friend at FYE today about 1080p and after explaining to him, he was surprised that most console games are only 720p native even they can be upscaled to run at 1080p.
This running at "1080...
Yes, on the level 3 on SR-2. The cook also cleans the toilet and catch whatever fell through the cracks. That's what the cook told Shepard.
I played as male Shepard in ME1 and ME2 on the 1st playthrough. Now I have replayed with the female Shepard, it's difficult to play as male Shepard again because Jennifer Hale is a far better voice actor. I'm going to start as female Shepard in ME3.
It's like get to know the "new" FemShep again in Mass Effect. Male Shepard just keep his same old look and hairstyle.
Why not give the new FemShep a bright flaming red hair? Will be great playing as a Renegade.
Can you imagine how much cooler if both male and female Shepards appear together as clones? Harbinger must as well turn 180 degree around and leave them along. For the story, it's easy. Cerberus took the original Shepard's DNA whi...
