The gaming media (which is dominated by males 15-35) ignores the Wii because most of the games, which tend to be for all ages and lighthearted, are not appealing to their taste and their readers and that's understandable.
What really baffles me is that the gaming media is head over heels over Natal when everyone with an IQ over 10 knows it is not aimed for them. Obvious bias! I remember in 2006 & 2007 the general gaming media said (whether implicitly or explicitly) motion ...
I remember the NES Zelda game included a map. I hope Zelda Wii also includes a map as a throwback or some kind of item that references the game. Oh, the DVD has to be gold. I also got the sneaking suspicion the game will incorporate the vitality sensor much like OT did with the rumble add on.
I have a curious question... has there ever been a game in development for 5 years? That's an awfully long time. I think OT took 3 years to make.

Several things Natal lacks that will limit its gaming potential.
1. It can't give the player any physical feedback (or haptics). Punching or kicking the air doesn't feel right compared to the Wii mote where I actually have something physical in my hands and feel the recoil when I swing to hit something.

Instead of making spin-offs of their franchises (especially on-rails when it is over saturated on the Wii), why don't 3rd parties make full fledged games with the heart and effort they put into HD games for the Wii? Stop being so tentative and just go for it. I bet they will reap many benefits of their labor. The Wii after all is the leading console this generation.

The Wii has more quality software for the "core" than the N64 and GC had in their first 3 years that's for sure. But it seems core gamers complain more about the Wii than they ever did about the N64 and GC. Strange.
Speaking of quality core Wii games, Castlevania Rebirth is getting positive impressions and reviews.
Just to add my two cents... Third parties are utterly stupid (especially western developers) in giving the Wii the cold shoulder. They are leaving so much money on the table with the console leader this gen.
They could have made massive loads of money on it if they put as much care and effort in their games as they do with the HD brothers.

That game used a lot of inovative ways to use motion controls for its puzzle elements. I can see a lot innovative gameplay mechanics using motion plus especially for its puzzle elements.
The Wii has much more better software than did the N64 and GC had 3 years after their release. Third party support is still bad for the Wii but it is much better than it was for the N64 and GC.

I think it's a smart business move for Nintendo.

I don't know who this Spector guy but I like the way he thinks. An ambitious endeavor indeed. Capcom, Sega, and all the other whiny companies take some notes. These are the type of games Wii owners want - a game with high standards.
I just hope this games lives up to expectations.
