@Mugen_mind, you're right on the money with that. I've believed they have a tricky way of avoiding the shipped vs sold-through distinction, it's something about the wording. The company is shady.
@inveni0 yes, a thousand times yes. The man is a genius, and one of the father's of 3D gaming as we know it... Yet the past few years he makes my eyes roll every time he speaks. I almost feel ungrateful by being so annoyed by him, but in some very crucial ways he's extremely out of touch.
That was fun. Good job on their part.
I say that Titanfall being Xb1's supposed killer app, and receiving so much focus, it's not surprising it's got so many pre-orders, while Infamous has, thus far, received modest promotion from Sony. So, basically, I agree with you.
This just in: Analyst predicts red wine will sell well in France.
For strict game reviews that's fine...reviews with spoilers are the worst. However, other game exploration videos should have no issues.
This to me is ridiculous. If you're posting a vid on youtube of a movie, then someone can be said to have seen the movie if they watch that vid. Copyright claim valid. A videogame is interactive. Without interactivity, you haven't 'used' it.
I compare it to a remote control helicopter. Do you think any co...
-Foxtrot, this is just further evidence of how out of touch Nintendo is right now. This whole story has been a PR nightmare from the beginning, yet they haven't fixed their part of it. To me, it shows how far Nintendo ventured into "casual gamer" territory, in their minds. It's to a point now, where PR arises that is poison to them with core gamers and they do little-to-nothing about it.
Fair use is not protected by/for anyone but the big fish. You can provide lip service about how you support fair use, but take my word, in practice small content providers get drowned in this BS with no protection whatsoever.
Honestly, the game is going to sell next to no copies, so perhaps he's feeling grumpy about that.
In a world where Super Mario 3d world is having such low sales, I'd personally be flattered and happy that so many people want to play my game, especially when stuck on such a hard-selling platform.
@Onagao sure, your Zune might be great...but using history as a guide to what one might expect in the future is just being intelligent. It's not "opening old wounds." If you bought a Panasonic VCR, back in the day, and it died after you owned it two months and then years later, you bought a Panasonic DVD player and it died on you after two months too, when it came time to buy your Bluray player would it be "opening old wounds" to consider other brands based on your pa...
Yeah as paranoid as some think it is to question anything they read there are reasonable questions to be asked.
It's true that, on paper, Sony should have sold more based on poll numbers regarding demand, but we have to consider that they both might just be selling the maximum they can. What this means is 5 million people might want one and 10 million want the other but if they can both only produce 2 million they will both be sold out.
That said, if you ...
You'd be wise to check your facts.
From Sony directly:
"There is a lot of confusion and inaccurate information spreading online about Brazil’s import tax policies online and the PlayStation 4 retail price, so we’d like to set the record straight: of the R$3,999 gamers pay, 63% of the retail price goes to offset the various taxes that are applied in the process of importation. Some do not consider the IPI on the distributor price and PIS/COFINS on re...
Yep. They should have bribed their way out of this mess.
If they had offered a £20 gift certificate as a reward to those returning the mistakenly delivered units, they would have had a shot at getting more back. A
As it stands, many people probably felt weird about keeping it but also felt a greedy urge to capitalize on the situation. A small bribe would have likely tipped the scales...and not to mention helped remedy the inconvenience... Afterall, the...
@BALLBAGS it's just not possible to produce at that kind of rate, yet. They are currently producing at 100% capacity. The current rate of production is pretty good actually, just not enough to meet demand. It would seem they produce about half a million a month, there is definitely room for improvement there, especially if things continue to go all ps2 up in here...but if sales quiet down after the launch-rush then they'd regret dramatically expanding production. Tough call for them, ...
Good question Bathyj...one has to wonder.
You don't have to do this experiment on PS4, it clearly displays your available space. Assuming it's not misrepresentative of what's there, there would be no point.
Yeah, exactly...when reporting on the work of others, he's alright. Then he plays prediction dartboard and it all falls apart.
Light and shadows are super important, but that said, the poly counts are confirmed to be dramatically higher in most next gen games, which are talking about such details. For example, character models' poly counts have, on average, quadrupled. Also, all that detailed realtime damage they were showing in the demo, illustrates a pretty high poly count.
To me, Driveclub looks better. However, I'm still waiting for the first driving game that looks "real."
Disagree completely. Plants vs Zombies is one of the best games ever on mobile and probably enters my top 100 all time favourite games, period.
Plants vs Zombies 2, "feels" all wrong. You can sense how your progression through the game is being shadowed by the presence of looming microtransaction pressure. The magic of the first game is gone, I no longer care about the series at all.
It's like going on an amazing first date with a gorgeous woma...
