@BlackKnight, you're describing a performance difference, potentially smaller than that between PS4 and XB1...with many different unknowns regarding performance as per hardware access, lack of closed/fixed system optimization...plus that controller...it looks...awful, there I said it.
I used to adore Valve...I counted the days till the release of the first half-life..but over the years an odd energy has taken over this company. I know, Steam did shape up to be awesome, bu...
Another lame article where all the pixel counting of last gen suddenly becomes irrelevant and gauche...I just don't buy the argument that people won't want 50% more power for $100 less because supposedly "if they really cared they'd spend $1000 (or a lot more) on a gaming PC, which has entirely different strengths and weaknesses and offers a largely different experience.
This is couch game vs couch. Quiet systems, no driver bs, no upgrades nothing. Console vs...
Yeah, this article is basically just saying what we've all been saying. Nothing wrong with that.
Yeah...the odd thing is, for all the discussion about resolution, the odd thing is several xb1 titles drop sub 20 fps, despite running sub 1080. For me, this sets off tons of alarm bells. I've had my fill of <20 fps, last gen.
That's what makes it extra creepy, it would indicate contextual analysis...meaning it could be also gathering marketing information from private conversations...oh wait that was one of the first Kinect 2 rumours and I believe it may be happening and it's creepy.
Also, who are they to censor my private conversations with their absurd morality that defines words as either good or bad? Yet the machine was basically built to run murder simulation discs. (Don't get me...
No, no it isn't. Youtube is moderated based on community feedback. Also, private exchanges are NEVER moderated on Youtube.
Are you serious? You a think terms of service waiver of 300 pages of indeceipherable lawyer-speak should allow them to eavesdrop on and censor a private Skype conversation?
If this is legitimately happening it should scare the hell out of each and every one of us. This is so close to the camera in the home of Winston from the book 1984 that it makes the hairs stand up on my neck.
Tell me this isn't true. This has to be false rumours and clickbait. I know...
Often times disabled components are the result of yield protecting redundancies. So basically just for example if you have the need for 12 graphics cores and you build in 14, this protects you from losing the whole chip if one or two cores is defective. This is cheaper than building 12 cores and tossing defect units.
My response would be look at Shadow Fall, in person, and decide if the power is enough. Bear in mind that it's a launch title and Guerilla themselves say it barely scratches the surface of what the hardware is capable of.
You still might not be blown away, but it's a great console experience for $399. When Naughty Dog says their next projects will blow people away...it sort of speaks for itself. You have to consider that current gen was often awesome in the gameplay d...
I can't recommend it any more highly. It sounds like exaggeration but after a few minutes of playing I noticed my whole body was relaxed and I had a big smile on my face.
That continues as I play through. I feel unrushed and happy and there's just this joyfulness to it that I had forgotten that games or even movies or TV could bring to me. People say it a lot, but I actually do feel like a kid again, playing it.
It's right up there with my favouri...
If it were only either/or, next gen would be pointless, in fact even last gen..ps1 had gameplay all day.
At some point graphics matter, because immersion matters.
Not sure how this is coming up, since the article isn't comparing the two games...but yeah Ryse is great at simulating faces...not sure how that weighs in to level design and pushing hardware, the differences are largely art direction based.
Also, for those who said titles wouldn't look better later in the gen... See! Of course they will!
@Kayant...people need to relax...there will always be creeps out there. There will always be a need to pay attention to what your kids are watching and a need to decide what you will watch. What's the main issue here? Genitals? Who cares? Why can we show any variety of animals having sex on daytime tv and it's educational, yet seeing a dick makes everyone flip out? Like, collectively, we need to grow the f up.
Besides, if we ignore the creeps on Twitch, they'll g...
Agreed, this is beyond absurd. They aren't going to throw away a major feature that the competition is struggling to make work, because of a couple of lame articles pointing out that people were banned for being senseless morons.
I personally like it...I think some people don't like Guerilla games because a lot of shooters teach you to shut off your critical brain. Time and time again I see this game criticized for difficulty spikes, and while there are a few spots that will take you 10-15 mins to pass a 30 second bit... Most of the "unfair" spots are actually times when Guerilla is saying "use your brain." If you do things logically, you'll get through smoothly and get that "nailed it...
Actually their conclusion was that it set the visual bar only by being first.
Yeah, some people scoffed at me earlier on when I kept saying Drive Club looked better than Forza...but it's pretty much guaranteed, especially with the extra time they are putting in.
Sounds like they should have dropped the res to 900p and upped the AA and AF.
I guarantee the Forza team wanted to do this, but were told "no" by MS as it would be seen as an admission that Xb1 isn't at home at 1080p...which, it seems, it isn't.
I'm, originally, an old school PC gamer so my respect for JC ran pretty deep. The past few years though...he just keeps on saying weird things in interviews and generally coming off as out of touch and cranky.
Still though, best of luck to him. Maybe this is exactly what he needs to get reinvigorated.
You won't regret it for a second. It is a masterpiece.
