I know...this is modern gaming journalism. A console takes 3 days to sell out and that's news. Makes zero sense.
Um yeah, I agree, that is ridiculous. Yet..this article is insane.
Yeah it's 1080p's fault, that's it! It's not a poorly optimized, badly made game...no. Like what is going on here?
Every other instance where ps4 runs 1080p it's because the machine/code can handle it. To use this rushed, 3rd party game as reason why resolution-gate is overblown, is actually literally pathetic.
1080p *is* preferable. Hands down. If you can ...
Yeah, I basically complete a game every time I start one, as in till the credits roll. I *fully* complete every other game, it usually depends on if the 100% is worth it. Sometimes, the odds and ends are just pure filler and keep me from my backlog.
This is really a case of it not mattering who said it.
This stuff is self-evident. No one, outside of casual observers, thinks the memory system of the One is ideal.
All this is, is a venting dev being quoted anonymously- what's being said is beyond believable.
This stuff isn't personal. It's just the way it is. Good games will still come out for it, but they will be irritating to develop...and probably sub 1080/900.
@GamerEuphoria
I don't see it that way. The entire spectrum of possibilies exists.
1 is the lowest. 10 is the highest. So what is 7? 7 is "good?"
I, and others don't think this DLC was "good." We think it was "great."
Why defend a review *from* opinion on the basis that a review *is* opinion?
Review culture is getting absurd.
My rejection of the review is based on having played it myself.
You won't believe how much better your comment looks in the PS4 browser vs the Xb1's.
Screenshots incoming.
I found myself wanting to hit the agree button under your comment like 100 times.
This is......what the hell is this?!
Yeah, and a mechanic like cover systems can't be attributed to even the first game which implemented them.
These are real world mechanics. At one point games advance to the point where they can be emulated and fill credit to the devs who crack the nut...BUT want to credit someone with *creating* the cover mechanic? Look toward the military or even early hunters.
Associating basic human behaviours with specific games makes no damn sense.
Straight out of the gate this opinion piece posing as an analysis stumbles.
Microsoft is rich, Xbox division is poor and operates at a loss. Sony is very much the opposite. Sony's non-gaming divisions have been performing badly while meanwhile their recent flirtations with returning to true profitability have been attributed directly to their gaming division.
@Cloudyday 71 You're joking right? Please say that you don't use made up Xbox marketing terms in real life discussions...
As for people who are downplaying the ENORMOUS pixel count difference as described by BigFnHooters this has to stop.
I'm not a console fanboy BUT I am a logic fanboy. If one machine is pushing over 1.25 million more pixels you have to know the difference comes down to much more than 'just' resolution. The resolution di...
Reviews are so good for this one, but whenever I check out vids of it it just looks like a motion sickness enducing screensaver. I must be missing something.
The difference in our experiences makes me wonder if we didn't just play different builds of the game. My playthrough was when the game was about 18 months old. Maybe you played an earlier build?
Think maybe they patched the AI and that explains how we had such different experiences? Could be, because I really doubt either of us is dumb/crazy/a liar. :)
X was my first Pokemon.
As a novice my opinion might hold less weight. That's fair.
I found it to be a pleasant, reasonably long diversion.
The graphics won't blow any minds, but to me the game looks good.
The story keeps getting panned, but it's alright. File it under " cute."
Overall, the game is super easy and offers very little challenge. Like it is nearly without challenge...
Get a clue. Sub-1080p usually means stretched. A 720p game is the same aspect ratio as a 1080p game...only way smaller. The solution? Stretch it to fit and apply all kinds of filters.
The problem is when you are not running at "native resolution" (pixel for pixel) the image quality is compromised.
This game IS running pixel for pixel.
The reduction in resolution accounts for the clipped off parts.
This isn't a ...
I wish N well, love Mario Kart, and want a Wii U turnaround... But you call this journalism?
Games don't have stock limits-effectively. They sell for cheap. They are considered flops if they fail to sell millions in their first week.
If MK8 can't sell more units than Amazon Japan's PS4 allocation that would be mindbending news. Especially given the pedigree of the series.
What passes for "scoops" these days is getting be...
Yeah not to mention that:
- the division is unprofitable.
-there have been internal/external rumblings within/outside Microsoft for ages about selling.
-Amazon is moving into console gaming and has a large bankroll.
So yeah, how is this a ridiculous theory?
On what difficulty? I enjoyed that game, but one of my gripes was how there was no stealth flow, outside of patterns.
What I mean to say, is I'd see emergent opportunities to slip through places and the friggen eagle eye guards would spot me, in spite of the fact they shouldn't.
Were they stupid? Well kinda... but blind?
@georgeenoob
No one here has seen the contracts and we have no idea the conditions set forth. Stating these things as facts looks silly.
Will it matter? I dunno. To me the extreme overhype on this game is overkill. Let's see how it performs on the sales charts. Let's also see if multiplayer communities persist. That's the keystone. A. Multiplayer only game can't have a long tail if it has no persistent community. That won't appear from no...
This isn't a savings oriented bundle. This is gamestop extorting people looking for any way possible to get a PS4.
With current shortages, it will probably work.
