It is not just better, it is a must. Unless you live underneath a mast!
We are all just getting greedy before they are even released. In January we could not of hoped that new consoles would be as powerful as they are.
We now want them to do everything at the same time in 1080p at 120fps!!
I admit it is a good idea for those who want it but it was wasted on 360 as you were tied to MS disks only, not any laptop sata like PS3 - costing you more.
I still have a PS2 (fat) and have a HDD inside with over 25 top games installed. Once I boot up with a CD/DVD it then only reads from the HDD. So a good idea, I agree.
But remember all consoles have there good and bad points. You gotta take the rough with the smooth. Remember your DVD game disks were a lo...
A 4g model would be worth it. 3G is too slow in the real world. If they do release a 4g version I would consider upgrading from my wifi Vita.
EE offer a 4g sim for £5 a month to use the same data from your smartphone data plan..
Go on Sony, go 4g.
Only thing would be a late release date such as December or even 2014. But this would be fatal as they have announce a November release..
Switzerland is a different case. They also speak Swiss-German which is very similar but there are differences. And Swiss-French and Swiss-Italian.
So you gotta add them too..
But lets be clear here. This is the company with billions of dollars and many versions of Windows with localisation all over the world. If Sony was having this problem then okay - but for Microsoft to have this problem is bad on their part.
This only confirms in my mind ...
Sony have been one step ahead the whole time for the next gen. They started development ideas years ago, they touted developers for their opinions and even got feedback for their controller.
This time around they may actually advertise!
Sony are leading this time but they want to stay there. They will come out blazing. The 32 country adoption will prove very decisive. That is a big loss for Microsoft. MS are defending their main territories.
The FCC compliance did not help with 360 RROD. If they could pass that and get away with it then no problems with the XB1.
Money talks and Microsoft have the money. Cannot see them making another bad hardware product. They would not get away with it a second time around.
I reckon they are 6 months behind where they would want to be. Guess they had a spring 2014 release date in mind before Sony showed their hand. The PS4 seems to have had more time spent on it...
Its the next gen only games I am looking forward to the most..
The XB1 has to release in the US and UK before the PS4, whether it is ready or not. These are their 2 big strongholds so expect MS to hit early with an advertising blitz.
Sony are not too fussed whether XB1 releases a few weeks before. It has come from 1 year and 18 months behind and still caught up. Microsoft know if they slip behind this early it spells bad news. MS are not used to playing catch up.
Expect millions in adverts, expect millions in cut-price ...
If it releases everywhere the same day then it could have 3 weeks on the PS4 in the UK. That's a lot of advertising just before Christmas.
They want to minimize the PS4 success.
Managed to get a wii for someone just before they ran out in the UK in November a few years back. If only I had got 2 of them. They doubled in price on ebay.
Same could happen here. These new consoles could pay for themselves if you have the cash to invest.
There will be shortages due to the very high demand.
A nice problem for Sony to have..
Basically the jist seems to be:
* PS4 has more powerful GPU
* PS4 has more powerful Ram
* XBox One has higher theoretical speeds for data
* XBox One has slower normal speeds for Data
* PS4 has fast, consistent speed for data
* Both have same CPU
* XBox One seems to have a great audio chip
If it was purely a race then PS4 would win 8 races out of ten and would perform better on PC-type benchmarks for graphics. <...
Sounds about right. Like having one of those Hybrid XT drives that have small SSD and large HDD. I was hoping that next gen would have Hybrid drives. Their cache sizes are much larger than normal HDD and thus improve performance.
Can't wait until they ship and then labs get their hands on these beasts and strip them down to their bare bones.
It is mighty impressive. Way better than we all expected from our next gen consoles at the turn of the year!
The consensus seems to be that the PS4 GPU is more powerful and GDDR5 has better performance with less overheads than the Speedy ESRAM as the faster peak cannot be sustained all the time.
It does seem from a technical point of view that PS4 has the grunt advantage over XB1. One of the consoles has to be more powerful. That's life.
But you are correct that it also matter how the hardware is utilised. Both are way above what we have so does it really matter...
Read the article but it made little sense. Your link was way more useful so thanks.
Not sure what the true picture is yet for both. We will find out nearer the time. Guess it also matters how the hardware is utilised.
Seems PS4 could of gone the ESRAM route for super fast speeds at certain times but thought the best option with less bottle neck was the unified fast GDDR5.
Microsoft have gone with the small cache system. Both are vastly superi...
Just asking. Because you did mention "Sony fanboys" and "PSBore". Seems like you are worried about the likely success of PS4.
Just do not think that both consoles will be 99% the same. They are both next gen with the same CPU. They have different GPU specs, although both AMD. They have differing Ram types, although both 8GB, and different ways of accessing that memory.
They are ultimately after different markets. Sony have gone back to bas...
So rumours are MS original end of financial year 2013 in March/April to ship 7M units but maybe now 6.2M. Hope they do not ship dodgy units. I would say lets assume all is fine but they do not have a good track record (RROD).
That's still a lot of units.
Sony are reported to be shipping a minimum 10M units up to a max of 16M (doubtful) in the same time-frame. What is obvious is Sony were much further down the road than MS. I believe MS were looking to 201...
