Playing multiplayer is great but it is not free to play any more if you have to pay a subscription.
Yes, if you already have Gold Live you pay no additional costs to play the game. So you can rightly call it no-additional-costs-to-play.
Does not have the same ring to it as free-to-play.
If by implication everything you want to do on XB1 can pretty much only be done with Gold Live then the XB1 should be renamed subscriptions console - because ...
If staff at IGN, Gamespot, Eurogamer, etc. had to apologise for all their dodgy comments about the PS3 the last 7 years they would not have time for reviews or articles!
Such a mass-press bias last time. Would be great for gamers to get pro-PS4, pro-XB1 and pro-WiiU intent, i.e. pro-gaming, this next gen.
Good journalism can still provide truthful and insightful viewpoints whether good or bad - but it would be nice to read journalists work without wondering w...
That's a week before PS4 in the UK/Europe and a week later in the US. Would be a good time.
NVidia do not do CPUs. AMD have the best APU systems due to their GPU advantage over intel's integrated systems.
For what both PS4 and XB1 seems to be able to produce I would say it has been a perfect match this time. Who knows what tech will be around in 3-4 years time when they start looking forward again.
At least NVidia seems to have stopped having baby crying fits about AMD and consoles for the time being. They embarrassed themselves.
That says, "YES. We will bring it back once we find our feet with the XB1 but previous purchases will be okay. Just from then on."
DRM almost confirmed during XB1 lifespan. Interesting...
MS have said they hope to ship (and sell) 7 million units by year end (financial 2013 - March/April). There were rumours these had slipped to 6.2 - but we know about rumours.
Sony have said they are shipping in the same period 10 million units (there were reports of 16 million - rumours).
So there will be a minimum of 3 million more PS4 units on sale (presumably they both sell out). That is why they can release in 32 countries. MS are bolstering the US and UK...
I wouldn't get this many Disagrees if I farted in public!!!
He may be a clown but even he is not going to lie about this. That would be professional suicide!
Just need a release date... this week.... when you're ready.... no rush...
I agree. If you have it, show it. It gives confidence to those who have pre-ordered.
There must be details on this somewhere...
We are still knee deep in this gen. Don't worry about MS catching up for next gen. As Sony have proved, if you provide the studios and the games people will come.
If Microsoft can actually make good on their promise and spend time, money & energy on studios we should see some great franchises in 2-3 years time.
If they do that, and make a XB1 slim I may actually get one. Its all about the games..
You will kill his internet!!
Your neighbours!!
ESRAM:-
"..First, there’s the fact that while we’ve been calling this a 32MB ESRAM cache, Microsoft is representing it as a series of four 8MB caches. Bandwidth to this cache is apparently 109GB/s “minimum” but up to 204GB/s. The math on this is… odd. It’s not clear if the ESRAM cache is actually a group of 4x8MB caches that can be split into chunks for different purposes or how its purposed.
The implication is that the cache is a total of 1024 bits wide, runnin...
More to do with developing on 360 and doing okay'ish port to PS3. Just look at PS3 only games for what that could do.
May be different this time as PS4 & XB1 have same CPU and both have 8GB Ram.
Expect differences to show in exclusive games. Play & enjoy..
Is it a problem if they do not release their FCC paperwork until the last minute? No!
But they have no excuse for leaving it late. Their competitor has already released theirs and cannot change without re-applying.
So just what is Microsoft hiding?
We can all agree that Sony have been the most up front this year.
It does not tell you what specific speeds it will run day to day, just the max speed. PS4 is said to run at 2.7GHz max but we all know it will run 1.6MHz for gaming. It is just the max figure not the operating one.
Expect XB1 to say the same max speed of 2.7MHz even if they do perform at 1.5MHz or less.
Too much speculation...
Who can argue with that?
Just have a nagging doubt. MS announcement at PAX this week will clear it all up..
We have seen how MS are pumping info out all the time - remember when they went really quiet after the PS4 reveal in Feb because they were caught off guard. It took them nearly 3 months to sort themselves out. Why so quiet now on release date?
Just come out and say to all the loyal fans who have pre-ordered, "Yes, we will release i...
22nd would be a good date if they ship in all 13 countries at the same date. 1 week after in the us and 1 week before in Europe compared to the PS4.
You are right about the Jak & Daxter Trilogy. I had the option to download for PS3 and/or Vita.
The PS3 versions have been downloaded and the games look great. The Vita version, done by another company, are said to be a very bad port to the Vita so I may not try them out. What a shame..
