Hey, good back up from you too!
Edit: I know I get the last word here 'cause you are out of bubbles (lol).
Lets hope for gamers sakes that XB1 does not suffer any hardware issues - and the same with PS4.
We are all putting our hard earned money into their pockets..
It does seem like Microsoft are starting to accept that on paper the PS4 has the obvious power advantage regarding graphic capabilities (pretty much core in a gaming console).
It is the second or third time he has mentioned this.
I am glad MS are getting 1,000% out of the XB1. And from seeing PS3 exclusives we know Sony developers will do the same.
Well done everyone??
They gotta win one case!
They WILL bring in DRM in less than 2 years.
Firstly for digital only and then for all disc based games from a certain point onwards. And you know what? People will still accept it - makes you wonder...
@kneon
You hit the nail on the head. They should of gave those two choices. Well said!
That's what I meant.
MS exec is not going see a better PS4 game and a Sony exec is not going see a better XB1 game.
Same for the fans of specific systems. Some will see games through green or blue eyes whilst others will just see great games regardless.
I do believe the XB1 has more bottlenecks. The PS4 has gone with a unified approach whereas the XB1 has gone for the ESRAM.
Mark Cerny already stated that they could of added an ESRAM to PS4 with up to 5 times more speed at PEAK times but the trade off and bottlenecks meant a very fast unified approach was much simpler and better overall.
Just PR. Wish they would just concentrate on their own system. You only truly know your own system at the moment.
Some people only see what they want to see...
This was funny. The first guy could not answer any questions. I do not think he has even touched the PS4!!
Don't say that! I have played Resistance 1 & 2 over and over and am just about to play 3. Some say it is the best one for single player...
Did you ever play Super Stardust on PS3. I have over and over and over again. It is a great blast and looks amazing.
You may think it is crap I think it looks like a great game. Do not worry friend, there will be games for everyone this next gen, regardless of the platform..
It all depends on the game as to whether long load screen times are required. If it is a fast paced action game you may need that 20 seconds or so to recoup your focus.
I re-played Resistance FOM the other week and it had long loading times but that had 2 advantages:
1) It gave me a breather between levels.
2) It gave the system time to fully load the next level.
Some games it works whilst in other games it doesn't. Bottom line - ...
Great to see developers getting to grips with next gen tech. This is what it is all about people.
The real beauty of XB1 and PS4 will come from system-only games. So for all you XB1 fans knocking this, just look forward to greatness from the MS new studios. We all win with these types of games.
I played Super Stardust on the PS3 and it is my favourite small game. I just love it. Can not wait to play this on day one.
The hardware is out - let ...
I agree.
The XB1 does have faster CPU based on what we know - the same CPU but at a faster rate 1.75Ghz PS4 has 1.6Ghz.
But a much stronger GPU of PS4 still gives quite a bit more power based on what we know so far.
MS would not raise CPU to 1.75Ghz and GPU to 0.853Ghz if they had extra GPU sauce. You would keep clock speeds down and if anything reduce them a little to keep all that extra power under control. This makes me believe the XB1 is ...
You are correct. Given what we know MS has higher Ghz with same CPU. The advantage on just the CPU is slight but it exists.
Does the 1.75Ghz make up for the less powerful GPU, no. It does not make any real difference to the more powerful PS4 GPU. So as it stands the PS4 has the more power.
But it is still nice to have that bit extra for free. Lets wait and see what happens when they are released and people get the chance to get under the hood - can't wait...
He just admitted the XB1 does not have the raw power that the PS4 does. This means there is no extra GPU in the XB1 as rumoured a few days ago.
He all but reiterated the Microsoft stance that specs are the most important thing. He is right to a point. It does depend on how you use the technology at hand and also the quality of the games.
We all know the quality of Sony studios from the PS3, lets see what both can produce this time!
Edit:* Gr...
I was worried IGN were losing their Microsoft bias these past few months. I need not have worried.
Great this, great that, few tech issues lets mark them down! Shame it was not on a MS platform. It could of got 9.5 out of 10.
Great to have you back, IGN - just in time for more bias crap this next gen.
Ha, ha!
This has got to be good news for all XB1 & PS4 pre-orders as the party is now in full swing.
Lets hope we all get our new next gen consoles as error free as possible. Can't wait for that next gen magic to start.
The 360/PS3 will look a bit dated after a few months with these babies!
Shame it did not show the actual XB1 and where it fits in a living room. You could be mistaken for thinking it is a new Smart TV.
For those not into gaming how would they know whether its a new TV or not? Hope future adverts actually show the new consoles..
