I would be pissed if the XB1 was cheaper and more powerful by a significant amount than my PS4. AT least they both have the same CPU and 8GB Ram.
Both are way better than 360/PS3. Lets hope developers have the balls to push each console to its limits - I doubt it, though. Some are just driven by money and ain't bothered about their craft!

Old news mixed with Sony's recent comments = nonsense.
Sony just started earlier and will ship more in the same period. They are spreading out their stock around 32 countries.
This does not mean XB1 has hit any problems. It may be slightly more complicated architecture which leads some to believe it may be more likely to encounter yield issues.
Still seems like XB1 will ship 7m and PS4 10m by Mar/Apr 2014 as predicted by both. Enough for ...
The 7m is worldwide by the end of this financial year (Mar/Apr 2014). Sony are said to be aiming for 10m in the same timeframe (rumours of 16m sound a bit high).
Any new IPs are a step in the right direction. Indies and innovation keep the scene fresh.

They have no hand-helds so the XB1 is pretty much it. They need visibility. Did they learn nothing from this gen in Japan?

Just watched the video. Looks great. I especially like the urban feel to it. Glad they are trying to make PS4 and PC versions as similar as possible.
And it will come to the XB1 sometime next year. I hope all these free to play games spread across XB1/PS4/PC eventually. Who knows, we could all play the same game and same map at the same time but on different consoles/PC..
Not to drive home the point but it really is free to play. Buy the console, plug it in, download the game and play for free. No PS+ subscription needed if you want to just see what the game is like.
Gives the customer choice of whether they want a subscription or not. Do not understand why XB1 fans are not pushing harder for MS to get more free services not hidden behind the paywall. It is a great selling point!
Last time around Microsoft were the lead console with 360. This was the right console to lead gaming at the time. Sony have had to up their game with online PS+ and services. Sony also had to work very hard with exclusives.
Result of 360 being the lead console last time:
* Sony ended up with amazing exclusive franchises.
* Sony ended up with the best value subscription in history of gaming: PS+

I believe Microsoft were originally planning a 2014 release before Sony shocked them with the Feb reveal. MS are not confident they can stick with PS4 that is why they are releasing the same month.
Just look how strong the PS3 has finished. Their great exclusives keep on coming and the PS+ is just about the best gaming deal on this planet right now. Microsoft are right to worry.
If PS4 gets a big enough advantage, especially in UK/US then XB1 sales will suffe...
@Clive_Bixby: Sorry, but The US is the only region where the 360 outsold the PS3. In Europe (UK being the exception) and the rest of the world the PS3 is way ahead in sales than the 360.
And the PS3 has outsold the 360 for at least the past 4 years. Its just a fact. The wii has outsold both but it does not mean the wii is better than 360/PS3 - it is just a fact.

A powerful console, easy to develop for, self-publishing - this could be the real golden age of gaming.
It sure does feel like PS1/PS2/PS3/360 all rolled into one. PC gaming is also going to get much more love thanks to the ease and architecture of PS4.

I am happy the PS4 is deemed more powerful than the XB1 only because when I get my PS4 I know the multi-platforms will at least be equal this time.
Both consoles look amazing compared to the power of 360/PS3. Make your own choice and be happy just like jr85prix.
They are saying that PS4 is a pure gaming device built for gaming. XB1 is a multi-purpose device that can switch between games and TV and Windows 8. There will be some amazing games on XB1 and multi-platforms should look great on both due to same CPU and 8GB Ram.
