With hindsight special editions that are just a poster printed on like Indiana Jones and Aquaman date very quickly. But consoles that do something unique can be distinctive in a good way.
it’s not my cup of tea I think the N64 with Pikachu really works with the character standing out. The Minecraft one is unique.
The PS4 Gems of War is an ugly paint job, but I don’t think is an official console.

GamingBolt: ‘The war for exclusives has begun.’ It hasn’t just begun, look at the current generation, exclusives are part of the reason PS4 has such a big sales lead.
Don't get me wrong, MS did have some cool news like the new additions to game pass including Age of Empires, Devil May Cry 5 and Kingdom Come Deliverance and they showed off the Destiny 2 and Metro dlc. However, the Insomniac news dominated last week and it also created a sense of anticipation for the PS5 because the Sony PR statement indirectly alluded to a new Spider-Man and Ratchet & Clank game.
The article actually makes some good points. If we recall back to just over a week ago there was some anticipation at the Inside Xbox Live show and jokey comments online that Sony would again be sidelined. As it happened there were no megatons, it was awkwardly presented and then the deliberately timed news of the Insomniac purchase stole the whole day and week and Sony wasn't even on a stage!
I truly love the Elder Scrolls but I don't like mobile game mechanics where you have to wait for a long period of time to continue aspects of your game, such as chest opening, unless you spend real money so the game can continue at an ordinary pace. Also, I think having optional micro transactions that cost over £100 is exploitative. I hope micro transactions are removed from the Switch version.
Saying all that i'm craving new TES so much that I'm sure i w...
I can’t imagine we’ll see anything too juicy as Microsoft will save their big hitters for the Xbox Scarlett reveal.
Headline made me chuckle because it sounds like a spoof - but sure enough there is history there!
So Microsoft's new name for micro-transactions (MTX) is, and I quote, "PLAYER-FRIENDLY PURCHASE SYSTEMS"!
Stone the crows, just call a spade a spade. And, if they're that 'player friendly' they'd be free.

If true, that's pretty cool. There was a Russian track I always used to like listening to that was removed which may be back: https://www.youtube.com/wat...
I hope by now game publishers know they must imitate the movie business and secure the lifetime rights to use music in their games across all versions.
@Christopher. I see where you're coming from. The first reveals were mysterious and intriguing because they were so weird. Since then we have seen a bit of open world running which doesn't look that exciting compared to the big bombastic trailers we often see. However, I suspect and hope that there is actually a lot of action gameplay but Kojima and Sony have deliberately held back so as not to give all their secrets away. Either that or it's just a beautiful walking simulator! I...
Halo games include a variety of multiplayer modes, there’s no harm in including a battle royale mode as players will decide if they play it or not.
I think / hope that MS are working to get Halo Infinite right straight out the gate.
@Christopher. What turned you off, the pissing or playing as Geoff Keighley?!
That's great news! I've been following this game for a long time so I'm glad that it hasn't been shelved. A strong concept with fantastic music by Halo theme creator Martin O'Donnell.
I hope Microsoft allow Nintendo the right to include Diddy Kong Racing on the N64 Classic.
Which websites blindly cut and paste this story without fact checking?
Just two days ago Anthem's lead producer, Ben Irving, revealed he had left BioWare. Two high profile producers leaving in two days is significant. It may mean the company has a new focus and is restructuring with a renewed purpose. However, more often than not, it suggests that there may be tension between staff and management. I hope they work it all out because they have a legacy of great single player RPGs.
Looks great. And makes me yearn for a proper big-budget, A-team developers, Mass Effect 4.
It's good to offer players both options. Next gen will be great when you don't need to choose. Every game should, hopefully, be 4k 60fps.
It looks promising. Streets of Rage 4 is coming so Metro Siege could take advantage of that hype if it's released as an indie game on the main platforms.
