@ilikestuff You actually made me laugh out loud! I’m still laughing as I type this! 😂
When John Linneman joined Digital Foundry I didn't really take to him immediately, but over time he's proven himself to be both a passionate gamer, a graphics and retro expert and a much more confident presenter. I look forward to watching this later.
@azizlksa To restore first-party order you need to have a consistent body of exclusives. Gears 5 is strong (it's downloading now on my X) but Crackdown 3 is not of the same high standard.
For 2019 I'd say the Switch will win the first-party exclusives with Pokemon Sword & Shield, Animal Crossing, Luigi and more.
'Restores first party order'?
This is Ryan McCaffrey claiming that Xbox is king of the exclusives! Gears of War 5 looks lovely but one high quality game is not enough to make the Xbox top for exclusives.
PR wise it's been tough for Bioware. Anthem is not being talked about positively, worst of all it's now not being talked about much at all. Also, people are speculating about EA shutting down the studio. So I think this is a statement to say to the gaming community 'everything is okay.' We know Dragon Age 4 is being worked on, and we've previously had a wink from Casey Hudson that that a Mass Effect 4 is coming but I think that is at least 3 years away. By E3 2020 they rea...
@boing1 When people are rude and shout out insults like 'ignorant' I normally completely ignore them because it means they are angry about something going on in their life and they inappropriately misdirect it to people on the internet. But because of the irony, for you I will make an exception and explain it to you. I've spoken in depth with developers who have worked on up-res games and remakes.
Notice that I did not use the word 'remake.' There is a ...
Knights of the Old Republic is an EA owned game. Historically EA have made almost no remasters of their games even losing themselves easy money (a Mass Effect trilogy would sell gangbusters). But KOTOR is such a sublime RPG and EA have the Star Wars franchise license and it would be so easy to up-res the game that they should get straight on it. KOTOR in 4K on PS4 Pro and XBO X, yes please.
@Shikoku so because you’d like an unreleased game to not have a mode similar to one of the most successful online games ever you feel it’s okay to insult me? That’s not cool.
If the game is great and then the multiplayer allows you to play in the full game world then this might be able to attract the many GTA V fans who are looking for something new.
It looks promising. Streets of Rage 4 is coming so Metro Siege could take advantage of that hype if it's released as an indie game on the main platforms.
With hindsight special editions that are just a poster printed on like Indiana Jones and Aquaman date very quickly. But consoles that do something unique can be distinctive in a good way.
it’s not my cup of tea I think the N64 with Pikachu really works with the character standing out. The Minecraft one is unique.
The PS4 Gems of War is an ugly paint job, but I don’t think is an official console.
I’m not American but I actually like the ...
GamingBolt: ‘The war for exclusives has begun.’ It hasn’t just begun, look at the current generation, exclusives are part of the reason PS4 has such a big sales lead.
Don't get me wrong, MS did have some cool news like the new additions to game pass including Age of Empires, Devil May Cry 5 and Kingdom Come Deliverance and they showed off the Destiny 2 and Metro dlc. However, the Insomniac news dominated last week and it also created a sense of anticipation for the PS5 because the Sony PR statement indirectly alluded to a new Spider-Man and Ratchet & Clank game.
The article actually makes some good points. If we recall back to just over a week ago there was some anticipation at the Inside Xbox Live show and jokey comments online that Sony would again be sidelined. As it happened there were no megatons, it was awkwardly presented and then the deliberately timed news of the Insomniac purchase stole the whole day and week and Sony wasn't even on a stage!
I truly love the Elder Scrolls but I don't like mobile game mechanics where you have to wait for a long period of time to continue aspects of your game, such as chest opening, unless you spend real money so the game can continue at an ordinary pace. Also, I think having optional micro transactions that cost over £100 is exploitative. I hope micro transactions are removed from the Switch version.
Saying all that i'm craving new TES so much that I'm sure i w...
I can’t imagine we’ll see anything too juicy as Microsoft will save their big hitters for the Xbox Scarlett reveal.
Headline made me chuckle because it sounds like a spoof - but sure enough there is history there!
So Microsoft's new name for micro-transactions (MTX) is, and I quote, "PLAYER-FRIENDLY PURCHASE SYSTEMS"!
Stone the crows, just call a spade a spade. And, if they're that 'player friendly' they'd be free.

@FallenAngel You said that the '3DS lingers on in life support' however for a handheld console from 2011, now superseded by the Switch, its sales are roughly a third of the Xbox One, Xbox One S, Xbox One SAD and Xbox One X combined! How should we interpret this, that the Xbox One family is not doing so well, or that the 3DS is?
