As articles go, this one is complete b******s!
He basically says expert reviewers can see the game is generic but because the public are less demanding and are less critical, they are enjoying it - but this comes from ignorance! He is dismissive of the the fact that the public are appreciating the game because they don't have the hive mentality of the games media!
Considering it was released 3 1/2 years after the PS4 that's pretty incredible. It shows that Nintendo or the portable form-factor, has a very special place in the hearts of the Japanese.
Where he says "close out" I think it means to complete development. There are quite a few positions listed so I don't think it means they are quite at the finish line. I suspect this will be finished Q2 next year with loads of play testing. If Sony have any sense they will release it the same time as PS5.
That picture of the Mass Effect asari crying perfectly echoes the headline!
"I thought that portrayal of Luke Skywalker was very weak. I thought they gave him a scapegoat role that wasn’t merited and didn’t fit with his character, in my opinion."
This sentiment is widely held.
WHAT IF - Nintendo allow Microsoft to add achievements to their (Nintendo's) first-party games such as Super Mario Odyssey and Zelda Breath of the Wild - would you want that?
I haven't played the game yet so can't make my own comment on the quality; but from normal gamers on forums they're saying it's a good, not great, game with lovely graphics. But some of the mainstream gaming press are dog-piling in like it's the worst game around.
The original Xbox One console lost the PR war because Microsoft wanted it to be an all-in-one machine with a focus on multimedia. The reason PS4 resonated so much at its reveal and first E3 was because of the games first philosophy. ‘4 the Players’ wasn’t just marketing, it was a statement of intent.
I didn't know that Mahjong was gambling. It's a shame if China do ban this because, from my limited knowledge of the country, many people there play it every day on real mahjong tables so it's a bit weird to ban the computer game versions of it.
Whilst I hope I live long enough to play Star Citizen I have to say this headline made me laugh! It's like Peter Molyneux giving Sean Murray advice on how not to over-promise!
FIFA Football 2020.
@Princess_Pilfer. This person apparently said the hate comments regularly, it's obvious that besides being bad it violates a company's rules so it's understandable that he is banned from joining the community where he can do that again. But I too have concerns about a person losing access a library of games they've paid for. The solution you've suggested makes sense. Ban the account for life from the PlayStation Network, ban them from the PS Store so they can't buy n...
These types of articles are silly because they make assumptions about customers. Of course if you want to buy a new console and you know a new model will be released in a month you might decide to hold off from buying the current model, however this isn't the case here. If a person is in the market to buy a games console TODAY, because they want to play games today then they are not going to wait one and a half years for a newer model! They are going to make a decision on the current con...
Some people don’t know what inflation is. PS5 releasing, perhaps, 7 years after PS4 can’t be $399. If it cost the same, in real terms, it will be at least $450.
I’d prefer a powerful machine to a gimped machine.
Polygon gotta Polygon!
Reading on a 1080p screen there is a big ad on the left side that covers some of the text so the story is unreadable to me. Gamespew please test your website with multiple configurations.
PSVR 1 support on PS5 is great news. The resolution of the headset can't be changed, but the extra computing power can be used to boost quality. This means games will have a higher frame rate (so important for reducing motion sickness) and the graphics can be more detailed so they resemble the quality of their 2D counterparts. For example, Skyrim VR could have the detail of Skyrim Special Edition.
What gamer actually says a console has TOO MUCH power?!!!
A console can always perform better that's why we have new-generations. Controversial for clicks.
Solid news, direct from Sony about the PlayStation 5!
Summary:

* A number of studios are working with it
* Sony have accelerated its deployment of devkits
PS5 will have

The game looks great and including 100+ levels is excellent value. But I wonder, because there will be so many fan-made levels does this kill-off any likelihood of Nintendo making another 2D Mario game in the next five years or so?
