I was around at the time, I never heard or read that rumour, in fact this tiny segment of this mag is the only time I’ve heard it. It sounds like the unnamed writer took creative license.
@Kran. For a normal game a zero out of ten review may have been written to garner attention, however judging from my short time with Blades on iOS I feel this score is warranted. Traditional games are designed to give the player as much enjoyment as possible, but this was designed to monetise the player to extract as much extra spending from them as possible. Literally here the mechanic is playing the gamer.
Thank you Matt S. for the honest review. I love the Elder Scrolls but couldn’t play Blades on my iPhone for more than an hour because I hate the mobile gaming mechanics that keep you waiting or pushing you to buy gems that cost up to £100! It’s disgusting and predatory and it’s why I stay away from most mobile games. I really hoped Bethesda would have changed things for Switch and the other editions that will come, sadly not.
Thanks for the link, I've registered my copy. But everywhere says the Epic Games Store is PC and Mac, but almost every game is listed as PC only.
I know I'm saying this after the fact but this is a true story! .. I watched that livestream and did find it odd that the original FF7 port for PS4 was announced like this, it was so anti-climatic for it to get this fanfare that I did wonder if it was a sign of a remake in the works. - and it was!

The game received barely average scores across multiple publications and websites. Does he really think that Xbox media and the public would regard it as better just because of their fond memories of Gears of War?

@RosweeSin. Microsoft doesn’t release the figures for its paid subscription service Xbox Live Gold. It releases the figures for the free Xbox Live which includes users who play games on Windows 10.
41.5 million PlayStation Plus active users is an amazing figure because they are all paid subscribers, the figures haven’t been conflated with a free tier. This is why PlayStation has become so central to Sony’s business.

PC Gamer said the demo "shows nothing that will move games forward". I'm surprised they are missing it! What the demo shows is that a platform like the PS5 (and therefore Xbox Series X and equivalent PCs) can depict environments at a detail level that is approaching reality but is less computationally expensive meaning these graphics will be possible on next-gen systems. That will be amazing.

It's a good move for Sony to have a single brand to unify the creative work of their multitude of studios. I love the music, it sounds epic. The last part (12 seconds+ ) also references the original PS1 startup sound with the 'twinkly' sound and the deeper bass sound.

It is something that has been done a few times with eighties songs as there is a stark contrast between the original that was upbeat and the new slower more mournful version which is great for depicting mood.
