I suspect there won’t be many units sitting on shelves, so the people who haven’t pre-ordered will be going for whatever PS5 model they can get their hands on.
I completely agree with there being no need for the meaningless stats of total in-game actions taken by players. It’s what Microsoft did a lot at the start of this generation when Xbox One wasn’t selling well but it wanted to share high numbers to obfuscate the truth ‘x zombies killed’ etc. Ghosts has been a big achievement in so many areas, Sony please focus on the real milestones.
The article doesn’t mention if the TVs have AMD Freesync. I don’t know if it’s premature to interpret this to mean the PS5 doesn’t have it or just the TVs don’t?
I want to know the story of how the source codes are getting leaked almost 25 years after the games came out. Did an old programmer have them and sit on them all this time, or were the codes unlocked from the vaults because Nintendo is going to offer them on Nintendo Online or is using them to make remasters for the Switch?
Undoubtedly illegal PC ports will be made and that’s illegal. But I have sympathy with people who want to play some of the greatest games of the N64 gen...
I can’t relate to this obscene display of decadence. I’d rather pay £699 for a traditional chassis in black with 2GB SSD and more of those teraflops!
I think this needed to be said. The format wars prior to a new generation launch can be a lot of fun if the arguing is good-natured! But some people take it too far trying to bury news they don’t like, abusing the lame reports or promoting any scrap of opinion that supports their console preference, just yesterday there was a story from an indie developer like this.
2020 is an auspicious year because two brand new consoles are launching, so WE all need to just chill and enj...
@RazzerRedux. You know, I followed the link to see what I would make of it and saw that it’s an modern Ecco the Dolphin clone. I liked how the music changed when the new move was gained and it makes me somewhat nostalgic for the original so I would be willing to give Orphan of the Machine a try when it comes free to Xbox Games Pass.
There likely will be a level of raw power disparity between Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, there’s nothing wrong with saying that. But I thin...
@RpgSama That’s why I love this place, once in a while somebody posts a random comment that makes me chuckle!
I want it. I want to hold it. I want to know how it feels. I want to learn all about the new features and the games that support them. GIVE!
xCloud is almost ready and it is set to be in a great position to offer a complementary service to existing Xbox owners who will be able to launch any included Game Pass game immediately as well as being able to continue their games when away from home.
More tantalising still is that next year it will offer Xbox Series X hardware and performance, meaning you will be able to play Xbox Series X games without even having to own a console.

@Christopher. You’re right that Eurogamer didn’t make the mod. My concern is that if it champions it, it then it becomes the norm for people to make mods as political statements. I have no issue with individuals’ freedom to create mods, my concern is that mods rather then just being an optional extra for a niche group in fact become a method by the games media to dictate to the gaming community which games are acceptable. So creators might see their work sidelined for being inappropriate and ...
Eurogamer you can do better than this.
There are many real problems in the world to do with abuse in the gaming industry. But this foppish article is grossly misguided as it hopes to kick off a crusade games where the art is considered ‘inappropriate’ so it can then be deleted. Eurogamer has no right to champion this or edit the work of others because it doesn’t fit your values. Many old novels or movies are controversial, but we judge them to be of their time and their foi...
Woah, I’m genuinely surprised by this announcement and what it might mean for PlayStation. Bear in mind Sony is only acquiring a 1.4% stake in Epic. To put this perspective as to how ‘little’ this is, the article says Fortnite generated $400 million in April.
Iron Man at number 2 is an astounding result for a sub-platform of PS4. It just goes to show there is a market for VR games. Whilst I suspect it will drop next week it’s a further sign that the VR market is going to expand. I have big hopes for PSVR 2.
Assassin’s Creed ‘leaks’ are never leaks, they are nearly always orchestrated by Ubisoft.
Isn’t this the game where that gamer in China smashed up his PS4 in protest because it copied /was inspired by Zelda the Breath of the Wild? I kinda wanna play this now!
Eleven years?! That's cool, it means he covered up until the PlayStation 6 generation is more than halfway through when all those PlayStation 7 leaks start coming. It's going to have some futuristic features that you wouldn't think you want, but your kids will love it!
If you know someone with a new iPad Pro ask them to show you Fortnite which runs in 120fps. Some premium 4K TVs have 120hz mode so if you are planning on getting a new TV for the next-gen consoles it’s worth considering these models.
morganfell, I hear what you are saying about characters in literature and other media and the issue for change solely for inclusion. However there is a tendency for people to conflate that and the discussion of left and right politics and representation too. But all that is actually different from the lack of fairness with company employment practices that stop a talented man or woman getting their foot in the door. I don't say there are problems based on subjective opinion I formed from...
The new-gen is almost here and Sony is still making a big show to support the current-gen. It’s one of the reasons it’s consoles keep selling for years after being superseded and helps nurture brand loyalty.
