Brave man. Wishing for a puppy for his mum to help her whilst grieving shows he was kind, and the hog roast -very relatable! Rest in peace Luke Wiltshire.

It was definitely an attempt at humour, that's got to count for something right?!

@SolidEagle The deputy editor Chris Schilling has been a long time fan of Nintendo platforms and games. To be clear I'm not suggesting anything improper just that it seems that's a brand he connects with. When Nintendo's Satoru Iwata died he wrote a eulogy to him which you can read here. https://shipwithoutarudder....

Great month for me! I don't really replay games anymore but Mass Effect has a special place in my heart as I have fond memories of playing the original on Xbox 360. I'm just sad that I won't get to see Miranda's arse as the original director intended.

BioMutant too. I love the music and vibe of this and I've been holding off and holding off.

Gamerant's 'reporters' don't earn a salary. They are paid a commission on page views and are encouraged to write clickbait type headlines. The effect is there isn't any editorial direction (besides promotion of social-political leanings). You can't go to Gamerant for an article with straight reporting on a topic, whilst there are some the majority will be written for dramatic effect to get your click. So you will see anger, outrage, complaining, celebration etc, all ex...

@hotnickles.
I haven't played Ragnarok yet and a review is useful for people who haven't played a game and are seeking to.
Please, consider that before spoiling details without warning.

My guess is that as it was included with PS Plus more people played it then those premium priced games so were more inclined to vote for what they've played.

The Andrew Yoon Legend award is given to "people and organisations that have exhibited a significant, sustained body of work that shows exceptional artistic achievement and innovation."

What games under Phil Spencer's tenure would you say fit that category? Crackdown 3? Halo 5: Guardians? Recore? I know he's a nice guy but should the businessmen that run the hardware companies receive these kinds of awards? Unless they've done something particularly in...

Microsoft has revised the original revised offer it made to Sony and has now increased the time period to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation to TEN years. This is still considerably less that the PR promise he made to the Verge to keep it on PlayStation forever.

Tom Warren (the Verge Microsoft editor/PR): "So there you have it, Microsoft’s Xbox chief says Call of Duty will stay on PlayStation no strings attached."

Phil Spencer: “It’s not about at ...

25% is something but it's not a lot. When the new PS Plus started and I was (and am) enrolled in the full service I had the option to buy another year of PS Plus Premium for £50. I wish I took it!

Phil Spencer has a relatable persona that's why so many people celebrate him. When it comes to his approach to exclusivity his past words and actions are the best indication on how he will approach Call of Duty exclusivity in the future. @LucasRuinedChildhood Those are pertinent quotes. 😙👌🏼

This flexibility is a shift from Microsoft and is part of a wider PR campaign to win over the gaming community. It reveals that Phil Spencer et al are not 100% sure that it will go through.

Just yesterday a naive N4G member wrote of Call of Duty on PlayStation "for the last time... It's NOT being removed". However, Microsoft has never previously committed to keeping the franchise on Sony's platform - even this is not a forever commitment. Interviews with i...

MMO games succeed from having as big a player base as possible which increases possible micro transaction purchases. The Elder Scrolls Online's largest console audience is on PlayStation. I would guess that a notable percentage of ESO PlayStation players had previously played the single player Elder Scrolls games, Oblivion and Skyrim - that's the reason I gave it a try. So having Skyrim 'free' on PS+ may help bring in new players to ESO.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is the bestselling game of the month and bestselling game on PS5, it could well be the best selling game of the year. It's the best-loved (in terms of sales) game on PS5. If this experience suddenly is removed from the PlayStation ecosystem it clearly will have an impact.

It's not a niche indie game that can be replaced with an alternative, Call of Duty is the annual highlight of the PlayStation calendar.
