@SeptemberInDecember if games media is going to do an authoritative comparison then it should include all the models or current model, otherwise just including the oldest and likely least efficient model that’s not on sale anymore is manipulative by omission.
@SyntheticForm. The controller doesn't just bad but it looks 'unwholesome', morally wrong! 🤣
Reading between the lines it sound like Xbox Series S may be the reason local split screen isn't available.
"343 Industries couldn't commit to getting Halo Infinite split-screen "from an 80% quality to a 100% quality" because the amount of effort required is too hard to gauge. Something that Baron points to as an issue outside the technological ones is the certification Halo Infinite would need to run local co-op for ALL THE PLATFORMS that the game is...
"As the narrative unwinds, you will follow different characters as their paths cross and this helps the story maintain momentum."
It's not clear from the high praise of God of War if the blogger has actually played the game or is reporting on its features. If he has played it then why isn't this a review?
@isarai "Still dont believe ES6 will be exclusive till they make an official statement that leaves no reasonable doubt."
When somebody shows you who they really are - believe them.
Take Two's CEO Strauss Zelnick cannot be more resolute with his opinion.
He believes (me paraphrasing) that subscription services have most appeal with hardcore gamers who are interested in playing multiple library games in a month. But this doesn't replace the traditional games for purchase model - and hasn't seen any evidence to suggest otherwise.
June 2023 is longer than was first expected.
@FPS_D3TH These ‘outlier’ reviews gets them clicks but loses them trust.
The Gamer: "Nintendo Switch Needs A Game Pass-like Service". No it doesn't! What you meant to say is "I'd like Nintendo Switch to have a Game Pass-like Service."
The truth is Nintendo first party games have incredible shelf-life, they can be on the market for years and not depreciate in value. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was released in Spring 2017, FIVE AND A HALF YEARS LATER do you thing you can buy the game in a bargain basement bin? No, because it s...
Just wait until the Metal Gear remakes start coming out.
Game Pass subs are proving popular with enthusiasts gamers (according to Microsoft) but Game Pass cannot hit its sub targets unless it attracts subscribers from the mainstream. Maybe in decade cloud gaming will be more widespread, but right now Game Pass is a product for gamers.
@Name Last Name said: "damn! This feels like PS3 coming out with their “599 US Dollars”
The thing is $549 in 2022 is cheaper than $599 was 16 years ago in 2006.
Woah. Because of world circumstances I knew prices would be up and thought for sure it would be £499 in the UK but £529.99 is over that psychological half a grand mark.
Now what I want to see from Sony to make it a day one purchase is to know that the whole platform has had an upgrade from PSVR1 VR experiences and has some triple A games, or maybe even just one like Half-Life Alyx
@rpvenom You don't always want to preach to the choir.
The noise and the format of video games adverts make some people switch off immediately in the same way I switch off when I see something about most sports. This type of ad can make a wider audience take notice and get them involved in the discussion.
That was different, Ben Stiller as Kratos! 🤣
Would've been cool to see all the dad's dressed as Kratos together.
The PlayStation platform's success or failure is not determined by the success or failure of its optional subscription service because that, whilst an important source of revenue, is not the core source of revenue. There is an economic crisis and people have less money to go out and socialise - this may mean people spend more time on home entertainment like consoles and streaming.
A more indicative measure of the strength of the consoles success besides units sold is l...
I like that Sony is being explicit in the numbers drop. Too early to infer everything but we can speculate; after the relaunch hype perhaps the new service is not compelling to PlayStation users because of the content. Alternatively, it may be that however strong the content, subscription services will not replace the game-purchase model that has dominated the industry since its inception, particularly when there is demand for specific new games.
This statement by Phil Spencer was a contradiction of his previous claim that a PlayStation version of Call of Duty would be available for several years (meaning finite) beyond the current PlayStation contract. It was made to YouTubers and not the regulator so had no legal binding but could work as positive PR worth the public.
This thread has made me laugh. EvertonFC trying to explain and reading the frustration in his words!
I remember when I first played Batman: Arkham Asylum and I was in some tunnel or roof or something, and Batman was talking and it was incredible because he WAS Batman, Kevin Conroy's voice was able to convey the depths of the character. The game made you feel like you were living a Batman adventure. Rest in Peace.
