First of all, it's funny that the people that have 2 bubbles all make dumb anti-ps3 joke.s
Second, is it really any surprise that the PS3 screens look clearer? I agree that once Digital Foundry gets on this, we might see a less-"biased" approach. But the PS3 has vastly superior hardware. I'm a proud 360 owner, but I'm the first to admit the PS3's superiority in terms of processing and graphics output.
What these screens do show is that Bioshock 2 will ...
Ahh.. nostalgia creeps into my mind. Makes me want to play my 64- but wait- no HD? Oh no....
I've heard nothing about this game. Might have to do some research.
"seeing minor characters throughout reminding you about when you helped them back in the first game...its all just a great experience that you really feel a part of."
That is, in a nutshell, why I love this series. It has a way of pulling us in emotionally (for lack of a better word). The Archangel backstory is a great example of this in action. :)
Mass Effect 3, Traveler... Mass Effect 3... Have a bubble- and thanks for the positive reception.
Looks like it should rival Braid, one of XBLA best-sellers and best-reviewed. I heard about this game a year ago and knew right away I had to get it! Next week!
The first one had a number of issues that impeded its success. The fact that you couldn't run from battle unless you were severely injured was ridiculous. But they fixed it all, and the story tie-ins to this one are there, but not necessary. They fill you in on anything important right away in 2, and that's all that matters.
Few series' have created a genuine gamer/game connection like Mass Effect. Even if you didn't like the first one, this one succeeds phenomenally!
There is literally very few negatives to say about this game. It is worth every penny. I'll borrow you both if you want. They are graphically impressive and even moreso in gameplay. Few games make you think and remember your experience the way Mass Effect does.
Yea, it sort of is. But there's positives to the series, just like with Gears.
It does mimic Gears heavily, and I'll take your word on Uncharted influence too (no PS3 or I'd certainly have it). I just don't think it's GOTY material for a bunch of reasons, multiplat the least of them.
Don't get me wrong, it's a great game and it's fun as hell. But it's short, the weapon mod system is bogus, and the partner AI is embarassingly inept. Which is too bad, cuz I had high hopes for this game as a whole, to improve on the original.
Rent it, Cheats. If you got a friend (I'm hoping at least one...) it's a fun playthrough. Just don't buy it. Or if you want to buy it, I'll sell you mine. :)
Should've bought this instead of Ao2:40th Day. Oops....
Here's your Christmas (or holiday, if you prefer it) gift: a bubble and a 100% cosign. You have put into writing my exact thoughts about this game. My expectations were high, but I considered the possibility of being disappointed.
It got Halo 2'd. They tried to mass market an already overly popular game. They tried to make it for everyone, when all they had to do, as the author says- is "take care of their already loyal (hardcore) fans."
The difference b...
Even droids can enjoy these games! Remove the dust!
Agreed, agreed, agreed. I took my own advice and decided to start Mass Effect again. It'll be a hell of a review for the sequel, Cheats.
Patches fixing Javelin glitch were released on both systems. "PlayStation Network ecosystem"? That's like saying Enron charity. C'mon, cut the blind fanboyisms and look at this situation objectively. And before this turns into a "*tear* it only does everything" war, I know. Superior hardware, storage space, modification capacity... I get it.
This article's focus is not "I got glitched on the 360." It's "I got glitched and it sucked." ...
Seems like this game's been in the works for awhile. I'm still waiting- and footage looks sick....
Carmageddon only had zombies in certain countries. So a zombie+car game is far from a rip-off of a game that came out 15 years ago. Even then, the only reason they put in zombies instead of humans was for ratings issues.
Between movies and games, zombies are as much a "sure thing" as the industry can produce. They always sell- even when people try to boycott the sale (Left 4 Dead 2).
It's kind of like buying at WalMart- yea, you don't really want to, b...
Good article, nice diversity of selections. "Black" was especially difficult, and beating that game on the hardest difficulty is one of my most memorable gaming accomplishments.
