Nintendo just keeps quietly avoiding the console wars and outselling both other major corps. Quite the accomplishment considering their system houses the hardware of a PS2.
Ever play Perfect Dark Zero? I hope, sincerely, that this game is the the North Pole- because that game is Antarctica. It was absolutely awful. Keeping true to the original 64 game roots should help, but I'll wait for significant reviews before making this purchase.
Hmm... Indie games are hit or miss. I usually look at professional takes and most-popular downloads. Miner Dig Deep, that top-down zombie game, and a few little puzzle games make it worthwhile to check reviews. Might have to check this out.
Cool ideas. Sad to see even our favorite heroes can't find work.
The Winterbottom trial is fantastic. I cannot wait to get that game ASAP and get a review posted immediately.
I enjoyed this game, but I wasn't thrilled. IMO Winterbottom is much more worth it- longer, puzzle-based (and a fresh idea, with the recording), and $5 cheaper.
I'll have a Winterbottom review up this week. That trial was amazing! I'm not a big Tetris fan (actually, I may be the most imcompetent Tetris player ever) so Chime was fun, but difficult for me.
You talking Darwinia or Winterbottom?
Ever hear of "op-ed"? The "op" stands for "opinion," which it seems the author offered, in response to comments made by an executive. Author didn't claim anything but neutrality- and all he did was respond to comments made out of context, by creating an opinion piece reflecting them. It's funny to see people get so bent out of shape when an article on a Sony-populated site criticizes their executives.
Microsoft fans have seen more than enough comm...
The sentiments about DLC not shipping with the boxed game is a valid concern, but something we'll never change. In an industry designed around making money (and milking the consumer) it's wishful thinking to hope for getting DLC at retail.
In any case, DLC just takes some research (and patience) so you can see how it's received before you make a $10 (or more) purchase.
Nice to see Sony spouting some contradictions and having their superiority questioned. I'm surprised this hasn't got comment flamed yet.
I love lists that include games that I forgot about. Donkey Kong? Amazing. Mario Kart. Amazing. A well-thought out list.
Nice individual, in-depth analysis of almost every aspect of the game. I tend to agree with a lot of your scores, although I didn't have as much trouble with the bypassing as you seemed to.
Mobile phone versions of legendary games/franchises. What's this world coming to?
I tried to use the drill more, but felt overwhelmed often. Drill Vampire tonic (from Big Sister research) helps- since it gives health and Eve while drilling.
Wow. Fantastically eloquent piece. The exploration of the two main antagonists (Ryan and Lamb) is really intelligent. A great argument.
I agree, it wasn't as "new" this time around, so it was less creepy. But still, they stayed true to the game and city's ideas- and they made a good sequel.
Even if you weren't as strong as you would've thought a Big Daddy should be. :)
Agreed. I hope they stay true to the tradition of the franchise and don't sell it out for the sheer numbers.
Mario and Zelda are two of the only reasons I've ever supported Nintendo despite their focus on the "family" and "youth" gaming communities. Still a great company, just no longer focused on "me" as a gaming class.
A topic that will never go away. Good to see another take on it- often the gamer's perspective is ignored in favor or the extremist's (who never play the games in the first place). I don't judge things I don't try- seems ignorant and uninformed.
