PSVR didn't suffer from the screen door effect in the same way other VR headsets were said to (though I can't compare them because I only ever used the original PSVR). I noticed it in some cases playing AC7 on PS4, but ironically it was more noticeable in darker scenes.

So having the standard sqare wasn't an issue and rotating that sqare 45 degrees won't make a massive difference, but increasing the resolution will and that did happen. Samsung supposedly mad...

Color depth, contrast and total brightness all improved on PSVR2.
So this journalist is still wrong.

But you don't notice when your phone or OLED PC monitor uses the exact same pixel array configuration...
Weird.

"People don't realize that pretty much all video they've ever seen on TV, blu-ray, youtube, etc. all follows a similar technique, but it happens in software."
It's true that most people don't understand color models. I'll say I'm no expert myself.

"All "delivery" video formats (the stuff you actually watch) is 4:2:0. Pro-codecs for editing and capture sometimes use 4:2:2, and 4:4:4 is typically only ...

"And yet that is exactly what occurs in capitalist markets globally."
No buddy that's not called capitalism it's called corruption and that happens everywhere. It happened in Soviet Russia which wasn't Capitalist and in China right now which also isn't Capitalist.

Oh good this only happens in cases where people leave the system off for more than a couple years. Not really an unbelievable problem it could effect the PS5 and Xbox Series S and X as well as the Nintendo Switch as well. This is just an issue with Charge Trap Flash NAND storage. Cheaper stuff lasts only a few years or so while the good CCF NAND storage can be powered down for about a decade before corruption from charge loss occurs. If you want to keep your modern HW active even if things go...

Worried something like this might happen to 3DS as well... reminds me I need to use it once a year.

You: "Do you think that maybe, just maybe, this capitalism thing has gone just a tad too far?"

If you think lobbying to make your company bigger is Capitalism, you need to to educate yourself about Capitalism.
Capitalism is about earning your place in the market NOT BUYING IT or compelling the government to make their business relevant like Microsoft is trying to do.

That's Microsoft for ya.

Oh gee... I only wonder why all these companies make these deals with PlayStation?

Weird that Mr. Kotick is feeling upset that he might lose his golden parachute... almost like he really doesn’t care what will happen to ActiBliz and only cares that his pocket book is treated well.

@MadLad
Yeah but MS also has a habit of chnaging its practices whenever it feels like when you least expect it in ways that typically hurts the end user even if they're not doing anything remotely illegal. It's why I can't play my disc version of Crysis on PC anymore and that shift happened years ago.

Who's to say MS won't walk back the ability for you to use certain UWP apps (specifically emulators) on Xbox Series devices?

1199d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

They can ban the account OR THE DEVICE. If your device gets the axe, no amount of account swapping will allow you back online.

Not enough gamers actually BUY the games they say they want on Xbox, Nintendo and PC. Square Enix sees that and signs the temporary exclusivity deal with PS where most of their gamers already are anyway.

Remember when Square Enix signed timed-exclusivity deals with Xbox for Tomb Raider on Xbox One? It didn't go so well and the company had to wait to make the lion's share of their income back when the game later released on PS4.

1199d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Because PS is the best platform for Square Enix developers and where the majority of their gamers are.
Yes, that's why.

You're welcome 343_Guilty_Spark.

Thank you for explaining exactly why Square Enix doesn't care to put the game out on PC at all. Also why they will launch it in a broken state with obtrusive DRM and will probably never really patch it.

It's because you don't care to pay them so WHY SHOULD THEY CARE?
I hope they cancel the PC version just to spite morons like you.

I wouldn't consider myself very good at GT but I beat GT Sophy on intermediate difficulty in 3 of 4 races coming in 2nd in expert difficulty in 1 race.
1v1 is out of reach for me. Good thing there's no prize for beating it 1v1, I'd be unable to get it anyway...

GT4 is a great game still one of my favorite GT games... but GT7 is a massive upgrade in basically every way at this point, there's no more trying to deny that.

1202d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

That's a good way of looking at it.
I stepped in 1vs1 race and couldn't come close to Sophy. So I dropped to Beginner in Race 1 beat the Sophy and did the same in Race 1 intermediate as well. 2nd in Race 1 Expert. Sophy Violette is really tough. It makes me wonder if the colors mean something? I looked into it, seems they're just named after colors without rhyme or reason, anyway it's a significant change that might be subtle to new players. Can't think of many AI...

Sophy is basically unbeatable for most players in driving against this AI using the same car. It drives more aggressively and while a great driver will not likely have many accidents with it most of the plebs wills still try to ram them or use them as moving barriers to prevent themselves from leaving the track.

Sophy is an aggressive driving model and by that I mean it pushes whatever vehicle it is in control of to the limits. It's burning rubber in long banked turns, ...
