Gamasutra is great and I generally love nostalgia pieces. Having fallout as the pic was an added bonus!
If you want them to "release the game already", that implies you want to get a Japanese PS3 around launch. With only 100k consoles going to Japan, I can't imagine that for the first six months or so these consoles are going to sell out and the only ones available will be on ebay for 1 bajukizillion dollars, which makes the console significantly more expensive than the European launch consoles...
So you are saying that the "Tilt functionality" makes it "such a better experience" than the 360 version of the game?
Guess what, the 360 didn't have any overheating problems when the first shipments were sent to magazines as well. Does anyone think that Sony (And MS) didn't test the units they sent to the first magazines for WEEKS to make sure it worked perfectly.
The problem is when units are quickly produced coming off the line. Let's say 10% malfunction, or even 5%...we aren't going to know until launch.
I think putting this out as "FACT" by PS3 mag is a serious ...
Unfortunately for Sony, this is really only going to get worse. This article failed to mention the biggest addition to the battery problem:
"Ars Technica reports that Sony is issuing a "worldwide recall of all of all Sony-manufactured lithium-ion batteries used in notebook computers." About time. This comes on the heels of Lenovo announcing a ThinkPad battery recall. Forbes reports Sony is working with the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission "on a wor...
Seriously, you've been spamming that same concept forever. It makes NO sense...please try and learn what a game _engine_ is before you post. Unreal 3, the ENGINE, will also make some great looking PS3 games.
Jeesh.
Don't get me so excited. The thought is too much.
I actually think it is a pretty cool feature.
It really is the sort of thing that should be included, at no cost, with the game.
It is time developers start to figure out what marketplace is for...they've had a year of data now.
"The best thing about Gears though had to be that fact that it was a breeze to pick up and play. The controls were perfect and felt as if they needed no tweaking whatsoever"
"I was at the Event in Chicago. The game played remarkably well. I had no problems with the chainsaw as some people keep saying. Some people bicth because they dont know how to use something"
"I was among the very first group of 8 who got to play Gears of War multipla...
The sweepstake winner has to wait UP TO 20 WEEKS to get their PS3. I really think Sony needs to slash it's ENTIRE PR team.
MS gave away an xbox 360 every five minutes for months leading to the launch. And the lucky jerks that won got their consoles a few days BEFORE the rest of the world.
Sony is giving away A FEW that, again, you'll get sent in 20 WEEKS OR SO! You'd think that if they plan to sell 2 MILLION by year's end and SIX MILLION my May 2007, they could give O...
...look so damn good? There is something about these that just look a lot better than the _exact same_ screenshots we have seen from other sources. They are crisper, much more detailed, and for some reason the graphics themselves look better.
Anyone else see this? Am I missing something> If this is just the quality of whatever output they were using(?) I NEED to know so I can use it myself.
These games, while they always looked good, have not looked THIS a...
MS clearly looked at the immersion patents and found no way to circumvent them. Nintendo, through a bit of patent mumbo-jumbo, also has their design locked up. The courts have ruled in favor of immersion in regards to all existing rumble tech outside of Nintendo. Do you not think that the Sony design team tried to come up with a way to create tumble without infringing on immersion and failed?
It may be that there simply _is not_ a solution without paying royalties to Immersi...
So you win this contest, where the biggest prize is reall a PS3, and then you read the following:
"one (1) PLAYSTATION 3 system (subject to availability - please allow up to 20 weeks for delivery),"
5 months for a damn prize. Didn't the "Every five minutes" winners get their systems before launch?
"So there you have it. If you’ve already got a PSP, and a stack of movies ready to watch on the go, it’s worth the wait for what’s undoubtedly one of the most exciting next-gen boxes going."
Can anyone here not agree that the PS3 is ONE OF the most exciting next-gen consoles? I'd say that, right now, it is either the first, second or third most exciting one!
;)
Also (off topic, sorry), how does someone magically go from two bubbles to fi...

Probably has something to do with this...
"She is one of the youngest on the staff, and a junior at Canyon Crest Academy."
The younger crowd grew up with Playstation as their first console, and tend to skew very anti-Microsoft.
Those of us that have been with this industry for decades seem to be more open with what we like...
But her article isn't just pro-Sony, it is more "Pro-I-Hate-Everything.&q uot;
I wasn't going to read this article, but your post made me think you were over-reacting. You weren't. She really does hate everything. I'm not entirely sure why she plays games to begin with...
Although I have every intention of getting a wii on day one, I completely agree with the article.
At $200 it is a great toy, at $250 you really have to start doing a compare/contrast of whether it is worth going for the 360. I understand the arguments about the xbox core vs premium and the need for extra components and whatnot, but the simple argument for the "one console purchasers" boils down to:
$250: Wii
$300: 360
At $200 I'd ...
"Second. I think you should also look and make difference between people that contribute in posting articles also and those that only come by to post stupid comments. "
I really think if someone posts good articles, even if I completely disagree with the them, that their continued appearence is (obviously) really good for the site/community.
I love the retro arcade games, plain and simple.
Sure, there are cheaper ways to play them (pc with emulator, modded xbox), but the fact is that I want _one_ source for all my game playing and I want online capabilities.
And there are a lot of people like me that agree. These games are going to sell and continue to sell like hotcakes, which means more and more of these games.
