"It doesn't have Master Chief ?
and they are labeling it halo?"
Yet people on this site adamantly defend the idea of the potential of the next MGS not including snake.
A franchise != the same characters...
Metal gear is somewhat "bogged down" with the confines of the universe and the story and whatnot. Even a new protagonist/arc is still going to have a lot of "baggage" to lug around.
I want to see Kojima tackle something COMPLETELY new, with no preconceived notions or history to take into account. I just feel MGS is weighing him down at this point, and I want to see what he can do with his talent applied to a blank canvas.
Sitcoms try and go out ...
This is somewhat misleading.
The PS3 has 256MB of VRAM (where I can store pretty textures) and 256 megabytes of what most people commonly refer to as ram (places where I can store tarrays and floats and whatnot).
When someone asks you how much memory your computer has, do you factor in the ram sitting on your graphics card?
I'm going to get nailed for this, but since I have to actively live within the confines of that 256MB every day of my life, this is ...
Please, if you aren't a developer, stop pretending you know what you are discussing based off of old internet pictures.
New dev kits look EXACTLY the same as retail 360s. EXACTLY. I had an intern try and switch one out on me...
"4.1 - As I said earlier
The newer revisions of both dev and debug kits are virtually indistinguishable from retail kits.
Dev kits USED to be grey, then they USED to have special fan housings, now they look like a regular 360."

Actually, there are revisions of both the "dev" and "Debug" kit that are virtually indistinguishable from the retail kits.
I assume you are referring to the old gray dev kits, which we haven't received in a year +
Um....am I missing something, I don't see anything related to priest cc...
"I wonder if games that we've played and beaten already, that are supported, will automatically unlock the Trophies we've earn, or will we have to play them through again?"
If it is on the shelf today, it doesn't support trophies...period. For a whole host of reasons, there is a (often larger than the most recently released at the time of submission) gap between which SDK a game is built on and the time it is released on the shelf...titles on the shelf today will have ...
"MS is not here to make us gamers happy they here to make themselves feel good and win at something."
You are kidding, right? Because Sony or Nintendo are here to make "us gamers happy?"
MS, Sony and Nintendo are ALL here to make money. Period. They are publicly traded companies. If any of them suddenly decided to take actions which DIDN'T focus on maximizing profits, the executives would be in breach of their fiduciary responsibility and shar...

Seriously, if you are going to question someone's intelligence, maybe you should proofread your own post?
Seriously?
Based upon your brilliant "punched it in the face" comment, I decided to go back through your post history, and found pages upon pages of non-bias, reason and insight.
Please refrain from this sort of behavior in the future.
As is every PS3 game, my friend. It's not like we sit there with a dev kit and a keyboard and compile/cook on the SPUs...
...game development is done on a p.c. Dev kits are also _very_ expensive...so many junior developers/interns and the like don't even get one.
Development on all consoles, WII/PS3/360 pretty much follows the exact same process. Please shut your damn fanboy mouth and let those of us who actually know what we are doing make the games.
My God, what a refreshing new jab...haven't heard that one before on this site!
Allow me to templatize it for everyone.

<Article about game X being released on the 360>
<Game X> may look great, but it is going to be worthless once your console red rings!

Thank you, dear poster, for finally bringing intelligent debate to N4G!
It is official! Forget the fact that 95%+ of all businesses are running windows platforms, this is the official start of the rise of Linux!
Because video game development is all about the "average", right?
When we look at performance of any aspect of a a game, be it load times, memory utilization or performance, the ONLY factor that matters is the worst-case.
If the game on the average fits in memory, but spikes to so much as 1 bit over, we have a problem.
If the game runs on average at 60hz, except for one frame out of a hundred, welcome to a quick drop to 30 (if frame locked) or ...
Actually, that 5 minutes you refer to is game data being cached to the hard drive...which is, well, an install.
When a garbage post like this gets so many agrees on this site.
LOVED Uncharted and Ratchet...
But I do have to agree with Breakfast about Resistance...having not played it until recently, I really feel it is one of those launch games that has simply gotten outpaced rather quickly.
* Compared to the other two games listed, the graphics simply don't hold up (see COD2 as well). Relatively sparse environments, lack of detail (things are too "clean"), rushed "cut-scenes" and a distinctively dated lighting system ...
Because when you factor in the cuts that the manufacturer's get in addition to the absolutely astronomical development costs, it is becoming industry standard for games to need to sell 1 million units to BREAK EVEN.
In case you haven't noticed, many of the small and medium sized developers and publishers are having a VERY hard time just staying afloat. I know $60 seems expensive, but $100 million dollar movies have no barrier to entry (owning hardware), and have revenue in theat...
