Nintendo has sold 727.65 Million total consoles (home & handheld) in 35 years (20.79 Million per year)
PlayStation has sold 525.30 Million total consoles (home & handheld) in 24 years (21.88 Million per year)
Nintendo has sold over 300 Million home consoles over 7 generations (6 completed gens & the Switch gen)...
PlayStation has sold over 400 Million home consoles over 4 generations (3 completed gens & the PS4 gen)…
Xbox has sold give or take 165 Million** home consoles over 3 generations (2 completed gens & the XB1 gen)…(**Xbox's numbers are clearly harder to calculate b/c OG Xbox & Xbox One numbers can only be guesses/estimates)
Bethesda's side won't hold up in court…Their argument that the game is materially different b/c of a warranty preposterous.
BUT if Bethesda were to win in court, that wouldn't just change used video games…that would change used EVERYTHING…
If a company can claim that a product is materially different based on a warranty…that would apply to cars, TVs, laptops, computers, cell phones…Heck, you could probably apply this argument to a house…EVERY ...
You knew Sony owned the retail license?
As of now Koei Tecmo has confirmed that Sony owns the retail license to Nioh…Now that may expire at some point. But until that point, I wouldn't bet on an Xbox version

Why do people keep forgetting MLB: The Show???
I mean the title's not wrong, God of War & Detroit did outsell every Xbox exclusive for the month of June…But why not include MLB 18: The Show???
I get all the reasons…Except #10
PS4 had an update a while ago that allowed external hard drives…And even allowing games to be played right off an external hard drive (source: https://www.eurogamer.net/a... )
Is the 5 million players thats being referred to…a total of every player who has played the game since launch? Or is it how many have played during a certain time frame (like last 30 days or last 60 days)?
And is it including Game Pass players or just people who purchased the game?
I'm a PS dude (who also owns an Xbox…and has Gold), and this is a great Gold month (no b.s.)…I give Xbox as much credit as I give PlayStation for that Bloodborne/Ratchet & Clank month…
AAAs are ALWAYS welcome on PS+ & XBL Gold…ALWAYS!!!
**And for the record, I'm OFFICIALLY calling out ANYBODY who's bashing Xbox for this month's Gold offerings…The purpose for calling out either of these companies for bad PS+ or Gold offerings...is t...
I tend to agree with @creamydingle…But I think this really depends on how long people think the Switch will last before its successor releases.
Lets say PS4 stops at approx. 100M sales (which I think it'll do more, but lets just stay there)…
Well as of March 31, 2018 the Switch sold 17.79M units…if it keeps the exact same pace they will hit 106M in March of 2024 (6 years from its release)…
I have a hard time believing that the Swi...
@DrChevalier - "This is from playstationenthusiast.com. Its pretty surprising they aren't towing the company line."
Actually its not surprising at all…Being the millionth and 1 article lavishing praise on God of War will get ZERO clicks …especially 3 months after all the other articles have done the same thing…
But if your one of the very few articles on a pro-playstation site to say your NOT interested in God of War…Now your completely diff...
I know right…Boy do I love the "These are what games I like (and/or don't like)" type of opinion articles (that don't really mean anything to anybody else)…
And of course this one is tailored toward one of the most popular PS4 games of the past couple years…no doubt to try and bring in as many eye-balls as possible…
Can't wait for this same author to recycle this exact same article in a month and a half... (this time with Spider-Man ...
Either way, PS4 has had a GOTY nominee every year since 2015
(Bloodborne - 2015, UC4 - 2016, Persona 5 & Horizon - 2017…and this year will have at least God of War)
@ConsoleGamer - "Just a company cheapskating on its consumers/ fans to keep revenue high"
ROFLOL…So when Xbox makes a lot of revenue = Xbox is giving the people what they want & consumers are responding by spending a lot in their ecosystem
BUT…
When PlayStation makes a lot of revenue = Playstation is "Just a company cheapskating on its consumers/ fans to keep revenue high"
Do I have that straig...
@fewDankMemes
Yeah, a lot of people look to how much the corporations are worth overall…but what really determines these Gaming Division budgets are the revenue and/or profits of the Gaming Divisions themselves
@kevnb
Your right, revenue does not equal profit, but the revenue the Gaming Division brings in is a WAY better indicator of future Gaming Division budgets than the overall wealth of the entire corporation
This is one SEXY Pro…You all better HURRY!!!
Microsoft annual gaming revenue $10.35 billion;
Nintendo annual gaming revenue $9.7 billion;
Sony annual gaming revenue $17.29 billion;

@-Foxtrot
Yeah, Bethesda initially started those 2 RPGs way back when developing a AAA cost a LOT less money & their studio could survive from a failed new IP…In today day, development studios can close down behind a new AAA IP that fails (commercially and/or critically)…
Sony & Guerrilla got a new IP that succeeded, both commercially & critically…There's no need to risk anything until HZD has become stale (which is at least 2 or 3 sequels...
Guerrilla Games…GETTING DOWN TO BUSINESS!!! 400 full-time employee…Hopefully that means 2 FULL studios…HZD sequel(s) is a must for 1 of the studios!!!
@-Foxtrot
Killzone…maybe…For a shooter, I guess…But I dont get why they would start another RPG…HZD is their RPG & its a commercial & critical SMASH HIT!!!
The entire bases for Mr. Greenberg's overall claim seems to be down to this statement here:
"Looking at the numbers and results of the competition, we have a smaller installed base, but the attach rate and sales data for many games are much higher on Xbox."
That is a pretty bold claim seeing as though Xbox won't release data (hardware & software sales) to prove that the attach rate is higher than the PS4 attach rate.
