"In partnership with our friends at Sony, Fortnite Battle Royale will support Cross Play and Cross Progression between PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, iOS and eventually Android."
Does this mean cross-play & cross-progression between Xbox and PC/mobile platforms is coming at a later date, or not at all?
@darthv72 - "This is about $$ made in general for the year, not units sold. Just so people understand."
You are 100% correct (and for that I, for one, will give you a thumbs up)...
Having said that, the $$ made in general (console sales, game content & services combined) is more important than units sold.
Things can get very interesting in 2018
Thanks for sharing...You do understand there are some people who subscribe to Gold more-so for the games and less for the multiplayer. Meaning (for those people) the games are what makes the bulk of the value (or lack thereof) of the service.
Because it depends on why people are subbing...Believe it or not some people subbed more-so for the games & less for the online multiplayer.
@zivtheawesome... Credit where credit is due on the Detroit call (Detroit May 25, 2018)
Back on topic: My most important take away from the press release:
"As such, SIE’s mission to create and develop the most attractive and powerful first party titles has become more important than ever." - Paragraph 3, sentence 2
I LOVE hearing that!!!
PS+ is going CRAZY right now!!!
Between the heavy-hitting releases over the next few years & PS5 at or around 2020...PlayStation is looking pretty darn good for the foreseeable future
I'm going to disagree with you on "a lot of changes"...Some changes, sure. But not a lot. I think it was really just those 2 studios (Santa Monica & Polyphony Digital). Because I can think of 3 studios off the top of my head who released 2 or 3 AAA's last gen & each will have at least 2 AAAs this gen -- (Naughty Dog, Guerrilla & Sucker Punch). Not to mention San Diego who is on exactly the same pace they were on last gen (MLB every year)
So...
@Sonic_Vs_Mario - "Those games look meh...."
LOL...Well your individual opinion not withstanding, I'm sure most of the games I mentioned above will have MASS appeal across the broader gaming community.
(but thank you for your particular opinion)
PlayStation's major scheduled games for the remainder of the generation is CRAZY nice...
Days Gone
God of War
Spider-Man
Yakuza 6
Dreams
Ghosts of Tsushima
TLOU2
Death Stranding
and of course each year's MLB
They do have more than Sea of Thieves (Crackdown 3, State of Decay 2 & Forza Horizon 4)...
The real question is...Will that be enough?
I guess that will be answered on an individual basis.

Its great to see good work pay off...I'm glad the fans of this classic showed support.
Thanks BluePoint for the AWESOMENESS!!!
"the base model PS4 outshone the standard Xbox One in all other tests" ...Ok...That's not news
"the Horizon livery will remain a PS4 exclusive." ...Of course the Horizon skins will remain exclusive
I agree, it was the console itself needing to be always online & the 24hr check-ins (specifically on physical games) that made Xbox One look so bad.
But today I'm seeing a lot of misconceptions about what Microsoft did. I see some prominent people saying, "always online games like Destiny proved that Microsoft was on to something.". And that's simply misinformation about Xbox's original policy. The problem, for the most part, was NOT about alway...
@Septic - "If you're a consumer you'd like them for this move. If you own a retail shop like the one here called Extreme Gamez...you won't like this, particularly if you're averse to evolving your business to match the market that exists today."
I agree with you on the consumer part...
But on the retail part you are 100% wrong...Neither brick & mortar OR online retailers want to carry items that dont make them much profit. T...
The guys at BluePoint are GODS of console technology!!!
Danish Retailer has now put a new date on Spider-Man release date...Sept 28th, 2018 https://www.coolshop.dk/pro...
It may sound good but its just as ridiculous as expecting McDonalds & Burger King to work together. I mean expecting every company with competing products to work together is the height of naiveté
