And that's if the visual side is the only department that suffers. Frame rate and performance are things that can make or break a game, and a poorly optimized game can take what ran perfectly fine on other hardware, and make it near unplayable on the Switch.
Regardless, here we have proof of how a little imagination can go a long way to delivering a much better experience.
There's often more than one solution to a problem, and outside the box thinking is something that should be applauded. A game reworked for the system it's ported to is most certainly a better product than one designed for other hardware that has just taken a hit in terms of resolution, or worse.
Yeah, and the twists just keep coming.
I'm getting more Turok vibes from this.
It seems in recent years, a number of games have evolved over time, with the product at launch not necessarily fully reflecting the experience people might have with the game down the road. Fighting games in particular seem to fall under this category, as the types of content that make up such a game (characters, costumes, stages, modes, BGM) are all things that can be added to over time via DLC, so it's no wonder companies do exactly that with their games.
Also, it&...
I've personally opened myself up more and more to digital copies of games. I will always fiercely oppose the complete removal of having physical games as an option, and I do indeed like owning physical games. But, I'll make exceptions, such as when I can get a game for really cheap digitally, and that's to say nothing of games that are only available that way.
Good to know. I haven't heard of this, but the trailer has me hooked. I might check this out on the eShop then.
I'll take a spiritual successor to an excellent series. Thanks for informing me.
Well, they offer a respite from all that's going on...and also what's not going on. I'm getting really sick of this pandemic, but at least I have plenty of games to offer some temporary escape from it all. It's one of the few constants I can count on.
Nintendo fans: "HOW DARE YOU CRITICIZE NINTENDO!"
In all seriousness though, I love Nintendo and all, but I don't subscribe to the notion that any company is above criticism, and I can't understand the diehards who think otherwise. There are things I wish Nintendo didn't do, such as re-releasing old games at full price, and refusing to ever drop said price even years down the road.
No, this is a spinoff series of games that are technically set in the same universe, but in the past (I think, based on what I've heard about them). I for one have really been wanting these to be localized, Americanized or not. I really just want a new Ace Attorney game to play, and in lieu of any new mainline entry on the horizon, these games sound interesting in their own right.
It's neat that throwbacks like this are still being made.
Tokimeki Memorial, maybe? That's probably a pipe dream, but I'd buy it. At least I can dust off my PS3 to play the Japanese releases of the first two games. I might need to update my translation app though, as the one I have that seemed to work in the past has been really awful lately.
I don’t recall Wolfenstein remotely insisting it’s based on real events, or really trying to be taken super seriously at all.
I cringed when I read the headline...but then I read the article, and it wasn’t at all what I was expecting. I’m actually a bit intrigued now.
How have I not heard of this?
What's with all the cyber attacks lately?
Neat! Those games are classics. I only got to play these a little bit back in the day, as my friend was the one with the N64, while I had a PS1. We had a good arrangement where we each just got different systems that started back when I had my Genesis, and he had his NES/SNES...and his life, though that's a story for another time. Regardless, we clearly spent the bulk of the time with the systems we owned. Still, these games looked pretty neat, so I might check these out, recognizing...
Another 11 summer homes, a Ferrari in every colour and shade, and a "good time" with multiple ladies of the "classy" variety? Just a guess though, as I'm clearly just a peasant compared to someone with that kind of cash.
As a roller coaster enthusiast, I agree. Like bruh, at least place that wall after a big dive or something. Worst roller coaster ever.
