I'm sorry but, the actual reality of N4G is a joke. It's a place where people submit blogs to battle other blogs, and fanboys run rampant in every talkback section without any kind of moderation. The concept is great, gathering news, but instead we have to wade through 3 - 4 useless topics (RROD, PS3 is doomed, BluRay is dead) to find anything actually about GAMES.

Rather pathetic.

But you actually read the reviews, right? You don't just let numbers dictate what you buy?

Can I ask the gamers around here something? Does anyone actually use Metacritic? I mean, review scores are just stupid. This example right here goes to show how easy it is to skew results when the internet allows for no accountability. I also don't understand how a 2 - 4 page review can be distilled down into a single numerical score? Does that seem somewhat... counter intuitive to anyone? If we can just look at the numbers, why bother reading the review? That seems to be the stance many peop...

2008. MGS4.

For me, the tops will always be Quake 3 Team Arena, UT2004, Goldeneye 007, Perfect Dark, and CoD4.

I'm a fan of games. I went with the PS3 because it offered most of the titles I wanted. I also have a great gaming PC due to my extensive work in Maya, so I'm able to get PS3 exclusives, multiplatform titles, and superior editions of most 360 exclusives without actually needing to own a 360. People can argue the meaning of "exclusive" all they want, I just know what I own. If I want to play Halo 3 though, I'll go to my friend's place or borrow my brother's system. I don't have the t...

I thought the Ac!d games were pretty unique, and an interesting take myself. I liked the parallel universe angle so it didn't mess with canon, and it's great for on the go. IMHO, of course.

Value is subjective. Depends on what your gaming needs and preferences are. I'm sure people will argue over this regardless.

Very well said, and I agree with you.

Home doesn't do anything for me. I am strapped for time to play games as it is. I would prefer it if Sony would focus more on features to beef up their online service instead of working on this virtual avatar world. It just seems like a skewed priority at this time.

You said in the open zone that anyone who says "yes" has Sony goggles on.

I have to ask, then, what your opinion is of Epic always falling drastically short of their incredibly fluffed up, post processed, crazy resolution, 16xAA'ed bullshots used for showing of their Unreal 3 engine titles like Gears of War and Unreal Tournament? Which is the greater "crime" against gamers?

As for Killzone, I'd say many aspects are damn close. It's an impressive vis...

A game review isn't news... but fluff pieces about RROD, PS3 being doomed, or other inane babble is? Interesting, and quite sad.

After seeing this played at work, I was sold.

"..filled with moments that can handily be described as inspiring awe"

This makes me very happy. I was worried it would lack set pieces. This doesn't appear to be the case thankfully. The 27th cannot come soon enough, it's time to finally move on from CoD4.

My PC awaits the moody goodness of Alan Wake. 2009 is another great year for gaming. Hopefully more of the less advertised titles will do well, such as WET.

No one should really listen to this stuff. This is mostly PR fluff, as newer, better, more efficient ways of programming will be discovered. That applies to all systems until programmers stop trying and move on to the next thing.

I am really anxious for this title. I hope the MP component is stable, and the destruction is well used! Bring it on!

As much as I want this game, it's somewhat foolish to label anything a "AAA" title before its even been openly shown to press and played, let alone released.

My wallet weeps for the future. So much to purchase. Gah!

Also... a sleeper title, was shown in Game Informer a few months back. It's multiplatform, steampunk style western... but I cannot think of the name. Anyone know, and if its set for 2009? Thanks!

I really want this to be a great title. As I said in another topic, I just hope it is more than "Silent Hill without monsters." The writing, voice acting, and atmosphere will make or break this game, but I have faith. This game will stretch my PC's legs next year and should be a solid buy no matter what platform you get it on.

I love Behemoth's art style and picked up Alien Hominid a while back. Is there any word or confirmation on this game coming to any other platform? PC, DS, PS3?

The time spent arguing is better spent playing games. I mean, that's the point of the hobby, isn't it?

It's unfortunate that people DON'T respect what Nintendo, Sony, and MS have brought and are bringing to the table. And that the market is sustaining 3 systems. For example, I may not own a 360, but I totally love how MS has integrated Live, and hope Nintendo and Sony take more notice. I only owned a Super Nintendo, but I would still play and enjoy my friend's Genesis!
