As soon as I saw this post I called my local Gamestops and luckily one of them had them. Most clerks weren't even aware of it.
Anyway the Pixar comparisons are valid as this is the closest yet to Pixar quality visuals. The graphics are simply amazing, as are the in engine cut scenes. Gameplaywise, it's Ratchet, plain and simple. You're given a blaster gun, a grenade launcher type gun, the transmorpher gun that turns enemies into penguins, and the disco ball gun that sends enemies int...

Japan always buys up limited edition systems. This is not news worthy.

-Bionic Commando 360/PS3 (I've been wanting a new BC title forever now)
-Ghouls n Ghosts- New 2.5D side scroller for 360/PS3 *drool*
-Strider 3- 360/PS3
-Strider game for wii with the mote used for the Falchion
-New Capcom 2D fighter with all new sprites featuring Capcom characters from all different genres/games throughout Capcom's many years
-Onimusha PS3-Ninja Gaiden ripped Onimusha off so badly that Tecmo should have to pay Capcom royalties. A new Onimu...

Am I the only person here who thinks the enemy designs are cheesy? They all look like a bunch of TMNT action figures that were rejected by Hasbro (or whoever makes them). Ryu looks lame in those stupid looking Wolverine claws, and foot attatchments (lierally like an action figure with big plastic accessories stuck on the body). Anyway, I'm sure the game will play well, but those character designs have got to go. As for a PS3 version I'm sure there will be one alongside the 360, or soon afterw...

The PS3 is selling well enough worldwide as it is. Going foward the PS3 will probably see larger gains over the 360 as developers get more familiar with the design (*gasp* there really is a learning curve), and just from the fact that Sony has more development talent under their roof than Nintendo and M$ combined. More developers means more games, which could mean more sales for Sony as their library eventually passes the 360s' in the number of must have A games. Also consider the fact that M...

I got to play the japanese system well before it hit the US, and bought Soul Calibur, HotD2, Sonic Adv,and Hydro Thunder on launch day. Fantastic system that was pretty much guaranteed to fail before the US launch due to Sega's past screwing of consumers (see Saturn, 32x, and Sega CD), the departing of Berni Stolar, as well as the blown japanse DC launch.
While the Saturn had online play before DC, it was the DC that gave me my first taste of online console gaming via Quake 3.

Halo 2 and MGS2 are both fine examples of titles that were hyped beyond belief and failed to surpass the greatness of the previous title in the series.
I'd also add Fable to the overhyped list. While I did enjoy it, it wasn't even close to the game that Molyneux was hyping it to be.
Gears of War is one of the few games that received tremendous hype and lived up to it.

So going by todays sales trends (that seems to neglect worldwide sales) the PS3 will become the "meat" in an Xbox 360/Wii sandwich? Somehow, with developers like Insomniac, Team Ico, Naughty Dog, Incognito, Polyphony Digital, Zipper, Sucker Punch, etc devoted to Sony exclusively (M$ has what? Bungie, Retro, and Lionhead?) I seriously doubt it.

I can't belive there is a thread comparing the two versions and the only difference between the two is small sections of aliasing that has to be pointed out with a huge circle. Really, if you are that uneasy about your system purchase that you have to do comparison threads like this to make you feel better about you game system then that's pretty frickin' sad. Even sadder are the losers trying to use this as proof positive that their system is better. Back in the 16-bit days the SNES versions...

Halo 3 may be having a big launch, but what moron really believes that it's going to generate more money than the Spiderman 3 flick? The only reason sites like this make these threads is to start Sony vs M$ flame wars. Here's another spin on the same topic; Spiderman3's worldwide ticket sales, eventual DVD/Blu ray release, toy sales, and product tie ins put Halo 3's worldwide game and toy sales to shame. Fact.

Otherwise I might've kept my paid off preorder for this game. With games costing $60 I just can't justify spending that amount on a game that'll only last around 6-8 hours. It's a shame because HS was the PS3 game I wanted more than any other. I would've rather seen less time spent on the emotional expressions (which are amazing btw), and more time on developing more levels.

PS3 fans getting revenge on xbots for Lair comments...check!
Xbots defending the 360 and firing more salvos at PS3 fanboys...check!
Now we just need the moron who was suckered into buying the game to come on and claim the reviews mean nothing (despite all of them being bad), because he's played the game and it's at least a 7.5.

Seriously. I don't want M$ to stoop to releasing dating sims, horse racing games, and brain trainers just to get the attention of the japanese (actually that still wouldn't work because the japs are biased). M$ has the best library in all of gaming right now and if the japs don't like it then too bad. Besides, as long as the 360 is a force in the US and Europe the japanese developers won't ignore it. Oh, and on a side note, while japan still pumps out a few big franchises, the majority of gr...

I'm so glad to see that the PSN is ramping things up in the demo dept! Still not up to XBLA standards, but certainly getting better! Now where's the frickin' Lair demo? Is Sony purposely not releasing it for fear of Lair losing sales? I'd at least like to give it a test drive. I also hope we get a Ratchet and Uncharted demo, the latter of which I'm looking foward to the most on PS3 this year.

The new Burnout looks incredible, and I'm glad Critereon is continuing to use the Playstation platform as the lead. PS3 owners will noy have to worry about a sloppy portjob, and 360 owners will most likely get a solid port.

Honestly, we didn't have this nonsense during the Genesis vs SNES days. Back then we were just interested in playing our games and frothing over whatever was coming out, no matter what system it was for.

I had the DC version back when it came out and currently own the PS2 version, but would still buy it on XBLA if it ever released. I also wouldn't mind Xmen vs Street Figher.

I don't agree with anything Shaka had to say, but that was the most entertaining read I've had on this site ever. Please, I want an encore, but I want something more original than "Shametroid".

DOA, VF5, Tekken, Soul Cali, it doesn't matter, I'll take them all thank you. I believe I read that the gameplay will be overhauled in Tekken 6, so I'm really looking foward to giving the game a play. Graphically it's definitely improved from the first few screens that were shown months ago. Backgrounds look great and the clothing/fabric looks fantastic, but what's with the skin and muscle? They look more like rubber action figures as opposed to the more realistic look of VF5. Hopefully that'...
