Nope.

Sony has already proven that it is the hardware company willing to learn from its mistakes. Take a look at the Vita -- a near perfect response to what the PSP audience asked for, and compare it with the Wii U -- which, outside of HD graphics, no one asked for.

Also, NO used games for the XBox 720? All games now *require* the equivalent of an OnlinePass, eh? ...AND still charging for online play, when the competition doesn't? Hard, hard lessons a...

I need Shenmue on my PS3, dangit.

My main concern is... has price always biased Destructoid's reviews?

If so... lame. If not... what's the deal with the price complaints?

This journalist is making an awful, awful lot of assumptions.

"Funny to me this game just came out today Nintendo stated it would take 20 hours at least to finish yet we got a review."

Reviewers get games a good couple weeks before they release to the general public -- sometimes as much as a month earlier.

I don't think highly of the price either, but that's NOT what a game review is supposed to be about.... so its a good game, but Destructoid has an issue with the price...

Was this a game review, or is Destructoid handling out financial advice to sad gamers who can't balance their bank accounts now?

Do cheap games get bonus points for being inexpensive? I've had way more fun with games like Super Stardust than I ever did with 8-9 rated full-pr...

I actually hope the Wii U tanks.

Nothing against Nintendo, per se -- I actually like classic Nintendo software a bunch. I just dislike "casual" gaming, and I WANT the hardcore gaming hardware to survive.

Anyone who pushes that market... well they are interested in selling you solitaire and poker for as much money as they can grab. I'd rather support a company that pushes to provide the thrilling, involved gaming experiences that made me a game...

Don't click the article. These guys have NO idea what makes a good game.

They rate things based on how close the game is to their perceived ideal game, rather than what the game actually is, and how fun it is. This score means "only 4 of 10 parts match our dream game that doesn't exist, and isn't this game or any other game", rather than "A 4/10 game experience."

The game IS good, as the shooter it is, even if it wasn't t...

Trails in the Sky is already one of the PSP games available on the Vita... and the PSP is far from dead, friend.

One of the best JRPGs this gen. I played it on PSP, but I got it on my Vita already, for a replay at some point.

It should be fantastic on PC.

This guy forgot something pretty critical in his analysis of how the Vita could fit into a Xperia Play-sized phone...

The battery.

The Vita's battery is enormous compared to most phone batteries -- literally twice the size. Considering its awe-inspiring hardware, that's hardly a surprise.

The "next Vita" might fit into a phone size.. maybe. The current one would not. Also the 5" OLED screen is one of the best parts o...

" the iPhone 4S is easily the victor here - unless you're after true console gaming experiences."

Ah hahahaha. Read another way... the iPhone 4S is easily the victor... if you're after garbage. The irony.

"If you get your iPhone on contract the initial cost will seem quite low and the low-price games always seem like a bargain."

LoL. $200 + 24 * $70/month (~$1900), plus garbage for games, is the best option?

Looks cleaner than Uncharted. I think it's full rez. Good framerate too.

It's pretty fun. Stellar, console-grade graphics and physics. I especially like the stealth focus... or the ability to effectively be stealthy (you can go brute force, if you like that sorta thing), in any case.

You don't need a memory card to save games, unless you download them (in which case you already HAVE a memory card).

They save on the game cards.

Not much (~3 years), and there are WAY more GBA games than PSP UMDs, bud -- Nintendo can't even pretend to have the same excuse for not providing a program.

How much older is the DSi than the Vita, again? Oh yeah... 3 years. Looks like the hardware compatibility was dropped after the *exact same period*.

Enjoy your hat.

There is a UMD transfer program...

Here in the US, we call it "eBay". You get money for your UMDs, and then you pay the money to buy the games on PSN if you want to rebuy them.

I have sold over half my PSP UMD games, over the past year, for the same or MORE than the PSN store value, and done exactly what I said above. The unsold ones I merely haven't finished yet -- I'll be they'll fetch the PSN price when I do sell them, though.

You have always been able to play PSOne games in ANY PS3, at ANY time.

It was PS2 BC that they removed, after the early models. NOT PSOne. Near-complete PSOne BC has been present in every PS3 ever made. If you still own a PSOne game... just slide it into the PS3, and you're set.

Most PSOne games look sweet on the PS3, with the screen smoothing. You should try it... before complaining about an issue that's not present. =)

3DS price cut to $149.99 during Vita release week.

If they do a redesign, they had better damn well offer early adopters a freebie add-on stick.

Why do the % add up to way more than 100, by the way? The art of addition and statistics not mastered over at MoDojo? Do they think there will be multiple announcements at once, maybe?

5145d ago 0 agree2 disagreeView comment

They might add value to the device, but I sincerely doubt the price will drop. A hugely popular below-cost device would kill PlayStation forever -- everyone would buy it, and then Sony would go bankrupt. No thanks, I'll pay what its worth, and keep my future PlayStations safe and sound.

Go pick up an iPad 2 for cheeps, if you honestly think the Vita is overpriced.
