I reluctantly bought Arcana Heart for the PS2 after watching some people at College playing it and I'm glad I did. It's a very good fighter and if we get Arcana Heart 3 localized I won't feel so disappointed about the West not getting Arcana Heart 2. Trust me, this is a fun series and it has a lot of depth.
Mass Effect 2 probably won't sell as well on the PS3 for that very reason. As for the Xbox360 version of FFXIII failing in Japan, SE originally said that it would only be on the PS3 in Japan, and despite their having lied about it being a PS3 exclusive internationally people in Japan still believed them.
While Mass Effect may be a good game, Final Fantasy has a longer history and is a much more recognized game series as well as XIII being the first next-gen Final Fantasy ...

A sequel to the Madden Curse movie will be released a year after the first film, but many will criticize it as merely a roster update.
I think it would be pretty interesting to play as Liquid Snake before the events of Shadow Moses. We have a backstory for Big Boss in MGS3 and Peace Walker, Liquid could lead to a good series of game too and they could name it Metal Gear Liquid.

It's not just Square's old properties that they aren't taking advantage of, so it isn't any wonder that they're having problems.
While I agree that Square Enix needs to focus on their games that aren't finished before starting to plan new projects it doesn't seem like an uncommon practice. PD were already thinking about what they could do in Gran Turismo 6 before 5 was released, although their support for GT5 looks to be very good with updates scheduled to fix problems and improvements planned for the future. I still think Square Enix can come out on top again if they just return the focus to making great games...
At least from what they're saying it seems like Namco Bandai have finally got it right, but actions speak louder than words. If they really want to know how to succeed in the west they should ask SEGA and Atlus for advice. Now hopefully Capcom will wake up too.

Dragon Age: Origins, which is another Bioware game, was released at the same time on both XBox360 and PS3 and the PS3 version was said to run better than the 360 version. The fact that Bioware is releasing Mass Effect 2 on PS3, with additional content to make up for the lack of the original Mass Effect on the console, and Mass Effect 3 on the same day as the XBox360 and PC seems to disprove your point.

Oblivion was released on the PS3 too and Skyrim is going to be multiplatform. If the games are good then both should do well in terms of sales no matter what system they're released on. Although some people might prefer one over the other I'm sure there will be a lot of people who will buy both.
I bought the MGS4 PS3 bundle because I knew they were discontinuing the BC models and it still works as well as it did on the first day I turned it on. Hopefully it will continue to be reliable, otherwise I'll have to buy another PS2 too.
Personally, I liked 2 better than the original or 3. It seemed to be more authentic and the characters and gameplay were more developed than in the original. Had the original not been released I doubt that the second would have been the way it was, so it still sits as a good game in my book, but the third one seemed to drop the ball to a certain extent. Hopefully the fourth will reinstate the good aspects of the series and scrap the negative ones, but that goes for all game sequels.

I was looking forward to this and I still am, but these timed exclusives are annoying and really only delay the profits they'll get from purchases on the PSN. If Microsoft did pay for a timed exclusive, which hasn't been proven, it doesn't seem too smart since everyone knows it's on...
